Did you have a gut feeling/instinct on the sex?

I (hopefully) find out the sex this Saturday, and since the beginning had a gut feel this baby could be a boy (based on nothing scientific).

So, just for fun, I was curious if anyone else ever had a gut feel of what sex their baby was going to be, and was it right or wrong?

I always knew I would have a girl.

latheritup · 16/07/2020 15:29

Yes from the day I found out and then from our 7 week scan I knew.

latheritup · 16/07/2020 15:29

Ps - it was right!

Melbs6 · 16/07/2020 15:30

I was convinced I was having a girl, I always imagined having a baby girl and would always dream baby was a girl... but I’m having a boy! I was so shocked when the sonographer said we’re having a boy but now I couldn’t imagine having a girl 😂

Seeline · 16/07/2020 15:31

Not the first time round - no sense at all.

Second time, I had a very strong feeling it would be a girl - don't know whether that was because I already had a boy - but I ended up with a girl!

rebecca102 · 16/07/2020 15:34

I felt boy but only ever had dreams of me having a girl. I had a girlGrin

OllyBJolly · 16/07/2020 15:35

So sure I was having a boy - the whole pregnancy was different. I was really surprised when I was told I'd given birth to a girl! Totally and completely delighted though (and probably would have felt the same had my instinct been right).

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 16/07/2020 15:36

Wrong both times

Jayneisagirlsname · 16/07/2020 15:37

First time I had not a clue.

Second time I knew she was a girl. Right after the positive pregnancy test, I remember thinking "it'll be nice to buy some dresses this time".

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 16/07/2020 15:39

Yep, I knew my DS was a DS all along! Didn't bother choosing girls names I was so certain! This time I think I'm having a girl. It's funny how we so often know isnt it? I wonder why? Maybe different hormones or something?!

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 16/07/2020 15:44

Yes we both did.We "knew" we were having a girl. That girl was in fact ds Grin

lionsmum · 16/07/2020 15:55

Was 100% convinced with DS1 from the minute I found out was pregnant that he was a boy but with DS2 I really didn't know either way😊

sel2223 · 16/07/2020 15:56

I 'knew' I was having a girl from the very beginning. I had dreams she was a girl, picked a girls name very early on, kept accidentally referring to her as 'she'....even my friends and family kept calling her 'she'

36 weeks now and 4 different scans/sonographers have said girl.

dementedma · 16/07/2020 16:00

I was wrong all 3 times

lookingatthings · 16/07/2020 16:03

I knew that DS was DS from day dot. Now I'm pregnant again and I'm convinced it's a girl. DH wants a girl but thinks boy. Time will tell.

Stargazer87 · 16/07/2020 16:03

Everyone including me was absolutely convinced we were having a boy...we're having a girl!

ParisianLady · 16/07/2020 16:04

Yes, I absolutely knew I was having a boy. 100% certain. With no proof whatsoever.

And when she came out a girl, I was flabbergasted and even the next day took her nappy off just to double check I hadn't become confused!

ladykuga · 16/07/2020 16:06

I remember when in labour the midwife said "you're having a boy". I didn't say anything but said to myself "no I'm not". I never found out beforehand - I just knew I wasn't having a boy and lol and behold DD was born.

HearingMyOwnVoice · 16/07/2020 16:06

Yes and I was always wrong Grin

ladykuga · 16/07/2020 16:07

I had boy names picked out just in case though Grin

TakeMeToYourLiar · 16/07/2020 16:08

I'd always pictured myself with a girl, but my first child was a boy.

I'm pregnant again, and convinced it's a girl, but won't find out for another 4 weeks

Branleuse · 16/07/2020 16:11

i was wrong each time

GoshHashana · 16/07/2020 16:19

I had a gut feeling I was having a girl, partly because I knew when we DTD and when I ovulated (DTD about 5 days before). Apparently girl sperm lives longer. Also just had a general inkling that it would be a girl, and the nub on my 12-week scan convinced me. So I wasn't at all surprised when I found out it was DD at my 20-week scan!

Mumtumwobble · 16/07/2020 16:20

With dc1 I was totally convinced he was a boy - he is. With dc 2 I wasn’t sure - she’s a girl.

Chirpychirpy3 · 16/07/2020 16:24

I was convinced I was having a boy. Was very shocked when a girl popped out!
