Did you have a gut feeling/instinct on the sex?

I (hopefully) find out the sex this Saturday, and since the beginning had a gut feel this baby could be a boy (based on nothing scientific).

So, just for fun, I was curious if anyone else ever had a gut feel of what sex their baby was going to be, and was it right or wrong?

Found out the genders with both but I didn't have a clue DD was a girl until they told me. I was pretty sure from early on that DS was a boy as my symptoms were so different! With DD I was extremely sick until 16/17 weeks! With DS I had no sickness just lots of nausea and could not stand the smell or taste of meat.

Wilburgh · 16/07/2020 16:26

Yes, all three times I knew.

Isthisfinallyit · 16/07/2020 16:26

I was wrong both times.

1990shopefulftm · 16/07/2020 16:27

Yes i had a gut feeling it was a boy and was proven right at the 20 week scan.

Roselilly36 · 16/07/2020 16:27

I really wanted a boy, had DS1, I did wonder if my second child would be a girl, just because the pregnancy felt different, found out at 20 wks I was having another boy.

BeMorePacific · 16/07/2020 16:29

I was convinced my 1st born was a boy, I found out at a private sex scan at 21 weeks and I was right!
This time we’re not finding out. I’m convinced it’s a girl, so will find out in 16 weeks or so! xx

WhatWouldPennyDo · 16/07/2020 16:35

I ‘predicted’ (correctly) the sex of each of my sister’s three babies. Now 26 weeks pregnant with my own and have absolutely no clue! Will be a lovely surprise either way.

NatalieH2220 · 16/07/2020 16:36

Yes both times I've felt I've been pregnant with a boy and both times I was right. Still pregnant so there's always a chance it could be wrong but the scan looked pretty clear!

Thneedville · 16/07/2020 16:36

I knew mine were both going to be girls.

I have 2 boys.

Monstamio · 16/07/2020 16:37

Yes, three times. I was only right twice though! Grin

DarkHelmet · 16/07/2020 16:37

Yep I had a gut instinct with all 3 of mine and was right each time. Bust as well because I didn't pick alternative names had I been wrong 😂

uncomfortablydumb53 · 16/07/2020 16:37

Yes definitely, from the moment I knew I was pregnant I could never see myself having a girl.. I have 3 sons

december2020 · 16/07/2020 16:46

I'm loving all your experiences!

I definitely (weirdly) see myself as a "mother of boys", no idea why! Though very ready to be proved wrong on Saturday ( however, it may be a small shock just as it's not what I'd be expecting). 😂

I was pretty sure I was having a boy up until week 35/36 of pregnancy. Sort of woke up one morning and was suddenly pretty sure I was having a girl. The change of heart was correct.

Smoothprocrastinator · 16/07/2020 16:51

I knew I was having a girl. Everyone was telling me it was a boy so I was really trying so hard to visualise what life would be like with a little boy, a mini DH, looking at boy clothes etc. But deep down I couldn’t shake that she was a girl. I even dreamt about her being a girl.

I was correct!!

ELW85 · 16/07/2020 16:57

Yep, always knew he was a little boy (and I was right!)

Alarae · 16/07/2020 16:59

I had an inkling/deep thought it was a girl, but thought sods law meant it would be a boy as my two sisters got the opposite of what they thought.

Definitely surprised when we had a private gender scan and we were told a girl!

Bluntness100 · 16/07/2020 17:00

Yes I knew she was a girl and kept telling people, when she was born I said to my husband, i told you so,

I also knew I was pregnant before I took a test, I was hoovering and just thought suddenly “I’m pregnant” so went and bought a test and I was.

PocoyoandEllie · 16/07/2020 17:02

I am 17+5 and from doing the test I just knew it was a boy (had this confirmed now) My DS who is 5 I had no clue whatsoever with though!

HarrietM87 · 16/07/2020 17:06

Yes I was absolutely certain and right both times. With DS1 we didn’t find out but I referred to him as he throughout the pregnancy and we only chose a boy’s name. Second time round my pregnancy has been completely different and I was convinced she would be a girl. We found out this time because I didn’t want to build up a strong expectation and be wrong, so had the harmony test and I was right.

Libmama · 16/07/2020 17:08

DS1 I was convinced was a boy from conception. We didn’t even consider girl names. And he was a boy.
DS2 I had no strong feeling either way but he was a boy too!

Bingaling30 · 16/07/2020 17:12

Yeah I had such a strong feeling ds1 was a boy, there was no logic behind it, I just couldn't imagine myself having a girl! I was right Grin

BabyLlamaZen · 16/07/2020 17:13

Only after the 20 week scan, despite not finding out at the scan. She moves quite far down and I saw something wiggle. Blush I was really disappointed as thought I'd found out, but then convinced myself it might not have been that and then wasnt sure. But I did sort of know.

He was a boy Grin

BabyLlamaZen · 16/07/2020 17:15

However a few of my nct friends were VERY surprised

strawbmilk · 16/07/2020 17:22

We didn't find out until birth. With DC1 everyone told me I was having a boy but a had a little niggle it was a girl and it was a girl.

With DC2 I just knew it would be a boy and it was. My DH knew it was a boy as he saw it was on the 20 week scan. I'm rubbish at those things and I'd no clue and he actually kept it to himself until the day after he was born
