Did you have a gut feeling/instinct on the sex?

I (hopefully) find out the sex this Saturday, and since the beginning had a gut feel this baby could be a boy (based on nothing scientific).

So, just for fun, I was curious if anyone else ever had a gut feel of what sex their baby was going to be, and was it right or wrong?

Nope. I hoped for a girl both times but had no strong feelings. Luckily it was girls

icantthinkofanamee · 16/07/2020 17:35

I really really wanted a girl and told everyone I thought as much but accidentally kept saying he. HE is a boy so I guess I did know? Grin

RuthW · 16/07/2020 17:37

Yes I did. I was 100% certain it was a boy. In 1996 they wouldn't tell you the sex.

She was a girl!

GreenLeafTurnip · 16/07/2020 17:41

I always thought I'd have a girl but from about 6 weeks onwards I knew he was a boy. And he was!

BabyG123 · 16/07/2020 20:57

I always knew my son was a boy. Wasn't even shocked at the scan.

This time strong feeling it's a girl, will be shocked if different!

Wow! It's amazing how strong (and usually correct) our gut instinct can be! I know of course we have 50/50 chance to be right but still!

One more day, we find out tomorrow! I wonder if my gut instinct is correct too (or if I'm totally wrong).

No, and if I did I'd know it was my imagination!

CoalCraft · 17/07/2020 06:38

I think there's probably a very strong reporting bias with this; people don't tell the stories of the times they were wrong

SkylinesTurnstiles · 17/07/2020 07:43

I think I’m having a boy. I convinced myself from conception as we conceived the by DTD the day before ovulation.
My dating scan I think baby just looks like a boy!
3 other people have also said looks like a boy.
Find out early September if not in a couple of weeks if I book a private scan because I’m impatient 😂

BertieBob · 17/07/2020 07:58

Yes both times. I was 50% correct

keepingbees · 17/07/2020 08:07

With my first I had really strong feelings it was a boy from about 8 weeks. It wasn't a conscious thing, I was drawn straight to the blue baby clothes in shops and only boys names seemed right. Everyone else thought girl and it felt really weird like they were calling my son a girl. I was right and he was a boy.
I went on to have two girls and had no feeling either way in either pregnancy.

Teakind · 17/07/2020 08:41

I was wrong both times. For DC2, I asked on here for guesses on my 12 week scan photo and the vast majority said girl which 'confirmed' what I thought. I was surprised when he was born a boy : )

Zara1234uk · 17/07/2020 12:11

I was wrong both times, I was convinced we were having a boy and dd was a girl.. this time I even bought a boys outfit (stupid I know!) needless to say I’ve now exchanged it for a beautiful pink suit for our impending daughter! Grin

SpacePug · 17/07/2020 12:51

With my first I was so sure I'd have a girl. There's mainly girls in my family and has always imagined having a daughter. Got the shock of my life when sonographer said boy!
I am pregnant again now and have no clue whatsoever. I do kind of hope it's a girl. Randomly from being young I always thought [having kids] should be big brother and little sister, as in its best for the boy to be older. No idea why that's just how I thought families should be (even though I just had a sister lol)
I find out next month I might update 😂

Cherryrainbow · 17/07/2020 14:59

Pregnant with 2nd atm - me my mum and all my aunt's had a feeling it was a girl because the pregnancy was different to my first (I have a son) - lots of morning sickness and stuff. It is a girl x

Laaalaaaa · 17/07/2020 16:23

Yes, 100% convinced I was having the opposite to what I had. So much so baby was nameless for 3 days - thankfully I had the restraint to only buy neutral clothes and not pink or blue.

Itsnoteasyfeelingqueasy · 18/07/2020 04:08

Yep, always thought I’d have a girl. The minute I conceived I “ knew” it was a girl. I was right 😊

december2020 · 18/07/2020 10:32

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories!
I love how right (or how wrong) we can be!
Yes, fully aware it's a 50/50 chance either way.

I just wanted to update, for me, gut instinct was correct, this mornings scan confirmed the baby is indeed a boy. 💙

Congratulation xxx

ComDummings · 18/07/2020 11:46

I knew both times.

First baby thought was a boy. It was a girl. Second baby thought was a boy. It was a girl. Third baby thought would definitely be a girl but was a boy! 4th baby was a girl. 5th baby a girl. Never guessed it right! All pregnancies felt the same too.

RainbowBrite1 · 18/07/2020 19:04

I always knew I'd have a girl. I went on to have two
