Women over 30 - how long did it take you to get pregnant?

Hi all

31 and TTC for the first time. Just about to enter the 3rd cycle. Although I know all of our bodies work differently, I just wondered how long it took people to get pregnant?

3 years Doctors refused to do any tests as I was fit and healthy. I wanted one at 30 and one at 34 but ended up with one at 34 and don't think I will cope with a newborn and a toddler in my late 30s.

1st cycle -34 years old
36th cycle - 39 years old

18 months including a loss.

1 year with DS1 (33) and 1 month with DS2 (36). Had two losses in between which took no more than a couple of cycles to fall pregnant.

34 - first cycle x

32- first cycle
35- chemical month 3, bfp month 4

Mid 30s.. About 10 months
Late 30s...16 months (thanks depo)
And then 2 month s after miscarriage

38 -second cycle first child and 40 - first cycle second child

4 months at 43 but not TTC. Assumed it couldn't happen at that age. All good luckily and my dc is the best part of my life. I was so conscious of those women who have a terrible struggle, life can be so unfair. Good luck.

I got pregnant 6 weeks after my DH had the snip, after DTD Once! I am 40 yrs old.

I'm 33 and we were lucky enough to fall pregnant in our first cycle with only one try 🙈

Fully expecting it to take longer when we decide to try for a second as realise we've been very lucky.

I would say I’m also amazed by all those who get pregnant first go but have to say that aside from 2 couples all of my friends have got pregnant within 6 months, some within 2. Lucky things!

Started TTC at 31, now pregnant at 35 with my 2nd cycle IVF baby. Shocked me when I had to answer ‘how long did it take you to get pregnant’ with 49 months on my booking in form with the midwife!

30 - 4 cycles but wasn’t actually trying - ended in a loss.
32 - 1st cycle of IVF worked.

First cycle, a few months after I turned 30. Turned 31 just after DS was born

I was 35, 17 years on pill and got pregnant the month I came off contraception, from one accidental session. Extremely happy with the result though!!

Cycle 3. But the first two cycles we didn't really try properly. For third cycle I took pre conception tablets and used an ovulation kit and then got pregnant straight away.
Also prior to getting pregnant I stopped drinking and also got my husband to do the same. I also banned him from his beloved hot baths haha. But yeah also just being healthy, doing yoga, made me feel a lot healthier anyway even if I didn't get pregnant

Second cycle the first time and first cycle the second time. Both times over 30.

Hi, I conceived at age 39 during 5th or 6th cycle following coming off the mini-pill. Currently almost 37 weeks’ at age 40. Have had no problems/issues since conception.
We are thinking we might have/try for a second baby in a couple more years. Hubby and I both keep in good shape/weight/fitness - don’t know whether that’s helped or not but we feel pretty good for it so who cares!!

I was 31 when I conceived my first (32 when I had him) - took 4 cycles.

Just conceived my second baby at just turned 36 on my second cycle off the pill 😊

I fell pg and 40 & 43 quickly without any issues at all. Also fell pg at 18 with contraception failure.

In a previous life I would probably have had 13 kids in a dirt floored shack.

First cycle 3 times.

First ended in miscarriage.

1st cycle at 35. Trying for #2 now. No luck yet but only one cycle in
though.

1st pregnancy age 34 took about a few mo the of "not actively trying but not preventing" (didn't even know what time in my cycle I was fertile)

2nd pregnancy took four cycles

First pregnancy ended in full term loss. Second ended in a 5 week loss (MC)

Now aged 36 been TTC about 9 cycles

Second time trying but sadly ended in miscarriage. Then second time trying again. (Both at 34) Second child took nearer a year at 36- 37 by time I had him. Assumed third would take ages at nearly 39- happened first month trying.
