Women over 30 - how long did it take you to get pregnant?

Hi all

31 and TTC for the first time. Just about to enter the 3rd cycle. Although I know all of our bodies work differently, I just wondered how long it took people to get pregnant?

4 years from age of 36.

Stupidly waited 18 months before going to the doctor. For some reason I thought they wouldn’t refer us until we’d been trying that amount of time. I know now that at age 35+ you should go to doctor after 6 months unsuccessful trying and really wish we hadn’t wasted that time.

Finally got pregnant the month I turned 40.

36, five months.

35 and 36 - second cycle.

Age 34 - 5 cycles, ended in MC a week before 35th bday
Age 35 - 8 further cycles and now currently 13 weeks pg 🤞

Age 31 first cycle
Age 33 first cycle
Age 36 first cycle (but miscarried at 6/7 weeks)
I had one cycle where I didn’t ovulate after the miscarriage and I am pregnant again.

I was really worried that it’d take ages now I’m a few years older but it wasn’t the case, I had really bad luck miscarrying but that an happen at any age. I couldn’t actually believe our luck when we managed 3 in a row, I think it was just sheer luck.

32 first month
34 first month
I was really surprised how quick it was both times and very careful with contraception after my 2nd!

Age 33, first cycle
Age 36, third cycle

Maybe this thread should be shown to the OP whose friend is worried she’s too old at 31...

38 and 8 cycles. After 8 months I went the gp who stated there is only a 30 % chance of conceiving even if you get the right day.

Left in tears but found out the following week we were pregnant

Age 30- 8 months
Age 33- 1st month
Age 37- 2nd month

Just turned 40 in May. It took one cycle to get pregnant.

31, 3 months, I then turned 32 shortly after. I was surprised to be honest, we weren't not not trying

Age 30 (just) - 2nd month, ended in MC, had d & c
Age 30 - 5th month
Age 32 - 1st month

10 years

I’m 31 and pregnant with my first. Got pregnant on the 6th cycle (one of the cycles though there was no chance as my DP wasn’t well so we did not have sex).

We also stopped using contraception and then said we will let it happen when it happens, we didn’t cycle watch ( I only took note of the first day of my period so if I fell pregnant I knew how far I was).

30 - 1st cycle
32 - one night
36 - 6 cycles

Started trying at 35. It never happened. Had successful fertility treatment eventually and baby born age 41.

36, 38 and 40 , first cycle every time. A bit shocking, tbh!

Age 31, 3 cycles.

34 and 10 cycles (after an early miscarriage at cycle 7)

Four cycles at 40 and 42.

Over ten years. Stopped trying. Got married, quit my job, went travelling. Pregnant on first cycle at 32. Healthy happy baby in my arms as I type

I just had my first ever BFP this week after 2 years, although I must say about half I missed the window as DP worked away. I am almost 36 now.

I fell pregnant in the first month with our third baby at 32 and in the third month with this baby at 35

Age 36 - 2nd cycle
Age 38 - 1st cycle

Incredibly lucky!!!

32 - 9 months, nothing wrong
35 - 4 months

I'm really surprised at all these first or second cyclers! I think it's very usual for it to take a while.
