Just that. Currently in hospital, after having sudden bleeding starting at about 10pm. 27 weeks pregnant, phoned the hospital midwife, who told me to call 999.

Ambulance turned up within 5 mins, put a cannula in and took me straight to the assessment center/labour ward.

Baby heartbeat is fine, but having tightenings, and a test for showing possible premature labour came back positive.

Been scanned, don't think the blood is from the placenta or cord, but it is quite watery. Going to be given antibiotics and steroid injection asap, then reassessed in the morning, including testing for amniotic fluid.

On my own, husband looking after our 3yo DD, and in any case, not allowed in with me anyway. Had 2 losses in the last year, and am so scared something will happen to this one too.

Excellent. The closer and closer you get to 30 weeks, the better the long term prognosis. Keep going and keep drinking lots and lots of water.

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 04/05/2020 20:21

So glad to hear that, love the updates Smile

squashie34 · 04/05/2020 21:58

Great news! Please keep us updated but glad little one is happy in there ☺️

UterusesBeforeDuderuses · 04/05/2020 22:13

Yay! Love happy updates Smile

helpmum2003 · 04/05/2020 22:23

Glad you are hanging in there. You have a fabulous positive outlook. Well done, keep going.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 04/05/2020 23:04

Oh brilliant. Well done you. My Consultant told me she was washing her hands of me once at 28 weeks Grin. It didn't quite work out that way (I delivered at 30!) but there was a definite sense of relief at passing the 28 mark.

sel2223 · 04/05/2020 23:27

You're doing great! Just keep telling your beautiful baby to hang on a little bit longer

MrsRose2018 · 05/05/2020 08:48

Hi OP!

29 weeks and counting :) it can be done!! It is kind of lovely hearing your baby's heartbeat twice a week isn't it! Also the extra growth scans are such a privilege!

My boy seems to be growing perfectly despite my waters breaking so hopefully everything's perfect with your baby too!

Also did you know that there are two amnio/water sacks? My midwife told me yesterday that there is one at the top of the baby and one at the bottom? If the bottom one breaks it's like "Niagra Falls" (according to my midwife) and if the one at the top breaks it's the slower, continuous leak! The latter actually has a less chance of pre term delivery and complications than the former and if you're induced for delivery even though your waters have broken, they may still need to "break" your remaining waters!

MeanMrMustardSeed · 05/05/2020 08:55

This is great news OP. I had bleedings (some massive ones) from 19 weeks and was in and out of hospital. Made it to 37w1d and after another massive bleed (unexplained) they gave me an emergency section. Baby was great. That was all six months ago and was very stressful at the time but now feels an age ago. Good luck.

Istwowyes17262 · 05/05/2020 17:19

Great news OP. Hope your scan went well today!

Vebrithien · 06/05/2020 19:58

Angry My lovely long message I put up yesterday, seems to have disappeared into the internet ether.

Scan went well, baby has grown and is now estimated to be 2lb 10oz. Baby currently learning how to do the cancan!

So, the plan is to carry on with the twice weekly monitoring and bloods, re-scan at 32 weeks, if we get there, and then at 34 and 36, with induction at 37 weeks. Again, if we get there!

That's great new OP I'm so happy for you!!

Did the give you a measurement of your deepest amnio pool? Are your measurements good too? I had a scan on Monday too and the head and tummy circumference were a week ahead!! However his lil legs are measuring two weeks behind - MW aren't concerned about that yet though and like you I've got another scan at 32 weeks (if we get that far!).

So pleased things are going a bit smoother for you x

MrsJoCov · 06/05/2020 21:56

Hey, just read the whole thread, what fantastic support you've had 😊 I am so glad you and your little one are doing well xx

Vebrithien · 07/05/2020 08:42

Hi MrsRose
Liquor volume was on the top end of normal Confused, not sure how I managed that, but baby was on the opposite side to normal, so may have altered the measurement. Also, was drinking looooots before the scan.
Consultant has suggested a GTT, which is ironic, as I had a (normal) GTT with my DD, when I was 3 stone heavier!
Head, legs and abdomen all measuring just over the 50 centile, which is where my DD was as well.

MrsRose2018 · 07/05/2020 14:35

Oh that's great news OP!!

You seem to be on the same trajectory as me! L! My amnio on Monday was a centimetre DEEPER than when they scanned me at 25 weeks! It's because babies produce amnio themselves so they're probably peeing up a storm in there 😂

That's also good about your measurements!! Mine were about there as well (bar his midget legs)! Maybe it's the steroids we were giving turning them into wee Hulks 😂

I've been booked for a GTT next week and also they plan to induce at 37 weeks provided all stays well/in there!!

It's such a relief to have a bit of positivity right now isn't it!! x

Vebrithien · 10/05/2020 23:14

Am back in hospital. Had another bleed this evening, not as much as last time, but with some tightenings, so they've got me in overnight, on an antibiotic drip + am having magnesium sulphate now, in case baby decides to arrive.

Oh, sorry to hear you're back in. But at the same time, what a much better position you're in now compared to a few weeks ago. Hopefully baby can hang on again, but if not, your what - 29+weeks now? That's brilliant! Thinking of you through the night tonight Flowers

CatkinToadflax · 11/05/2020 09:25

Just came on to say that my DS arrived at 24 weeks, 14 years ago. We had a very long and rocky time in NICU but he's just wandered into the kitchen in search of bagels and milk.

Neonatal treatment and care has come on hugely since then. 29+ weeks is brilliant so hopefully if your DC comes in the near future, you will have a fairly smooth journey. Good luck! Flowers

octoberfarm · 11/05/2020 11:51

Oh OP, sorry to hear you're back in. How are things going today?

Beth804 · 11/05/2020 13:51

Aw sorry you're back in, but in such a better position than last time - good luck 😘 xx

rosegoldivy · 11/05/2020 17:47

Sorry to hear that your back in, how many weeks are you now?
Fingers crossed that baby stays put x

Vebrithien · 11/05/2020 19:43

Thanks everyone.
Am now 29w 4d, almost 3 weeks since this started.
Had the magnesium sulphate infusion Envy (not envy) which made me feel very weird, but did stop the tightenings for about 12 hours.
Tightenings have started up again, so although I'm on the antenatal ward currently, they need to check down with the labour ward, to see what the plan is.
