Just that. Currently in hospital, after having sudden bleeding starting at about 10pm. 27 weeks pregnant, phoned the hospital midwife, who told me to call 999.

Ambulance turned up within 5 mins, put a cannula in and took me straight to the assessment center/labour ward.

Baby heartbeat is fine, but having tightenings, and a test for showing possible premature labour came back positive.

Been scanned, don't think the blood is from the placenta or cord, but it is quite watery. Going to be given antibiotics and steroid injection asap, then reassessed in the morning, including testing for amniotic fluid.

On my own, husband looking after our 3yo DD, and in any case, not allowed in with me anyway. Had 2 losses in the last year, and am so scared something will happen to this one too.

I am sending you tons of good wishes that hopefully later on things look at bit better. You are in absolutely the best place and your DH with DD should be fine.
I had a family member born at 27 weeks, thankfully she is now a fiesty healthy 20 year old at uni and who is a bit of a hellraiser!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and sending you hugs too.

Hope you’re ok this morning.

LondonUnited · 23/04/2020 06:25

Thinking of you OP. This happened to me at 20 weeks and then again at 23+6. For the second one I spent five days on delivery suite being given steroids and the works for a suspected placental abruption.

Then, it stopped! DD hung in there and was born at full term.

I hope you have the same outcome, but even if you have baby today, 27 weeks is actually pretty good in terms of gestation (I looked at the stats in detail when I was facing having a 23/24 weeker and even by 25/26 weeks outcomes are good)

Thinking of you anyway as I know it’s a scary time Flowers

Sending lots of hugs to you. Whatever this throws at you, just know that you can do this ❤️

Just been woken up, dozed for about an hour, and then slept for about an hour.
More browner thin blood.
Am exactly 27w0, was 26w6 when I came in last night.

Am now hooked up to the monitor again, having regular tightenings that are being picked up. Waiting for blood results and need to be examined again.

Good luck ❤️ it's been said, but NICU really are amazing!

Monstamio · 23/04/2020 08:22

Thinking of you. I'm due to give birth at the same hospital, I think. It's a great place and has strong links with another even bigger hospital if necessary so you are in good hands. Hope little bean hangs on in there for a bit longer. Flowers

Hi OP

Hope you’re getting on ok! I’m so sorry to hear about what’s happening, you must me terrified!!

I am 27+5 right now but my waters went at 25 weeks. I was admitted to hospital for 72 hours for observation and like you was loaded up with steroid injections and antibiotics! We’re the steroid injections in your butt cheek? How much do they effing hurt?!!!

I know you’re terrified but you’re in the absolute best place right now and at 27 weeks if baby needs to make an unplanned arrival your odds are still really good!!

I could potentially go into spontaneous labour any second or get an infection and have to deliver so we have had endless conversations with consultants and specialists about viability and delivery and things like that! Your baby’s heartbeat is good and for now that’s the absolutely main thing! They wouldn’t keep your baby in there if it wasn’t totally safe!!

I’m so sorry you’re alone, I had to be alone in the evenings for 72 hours and it was the worst thing ever!

You’re doing amazing! Xx

SleepyBoPeepy · 23/04/2020 08:28

I know which NICU you are talking about, my baby nearly ended up there but we didn’t need a NICU stay in the end. It’s a good one though, even after it was clear that we wouldn’t need it people kept telling us - so it wasn’t just them trying to make me feel better if that makes sense Smile

Jj2431 · 23/04/2020 08:55

Hope you're okay OP and that baby is doing well. Stay positive x

Delbelleber · 23/04/2020 09:02

Good luck to you and stay strong little baba Flowers
