@LassoOfTruth thank you 😇🙏🏻

Sophie1326 · 05/05/2020 22:04

@Bikbikmum oh no! They had every size when I posted earlier 😩

LassoOfTruth · 05/05/2020 23:01

@Sophie1326 good find!

I should be in bed but instead I'm sneaking downstairs for yet more food. Because apparently I'm never full these days. And I can't sleep anyway.
Midwife tomorrow so I'm hoping she'll tell me I can still have my 36 week/growth scan appointment in a couple of weeks. The local maternity/birth centre isn't offering births anymore so I will also have to grill her on options re hospital etc. Maybe all our babies will be born with superpowers or something - it's all so weird!

Bikbikmum · 08/05/2020 08:47

@LassoOfTruth I have also asked my midwife whether they resume home births or birth centre births. Nope. Not yet. I think birth centres inside of hospitals are still operating.

My biggest worry nowadays is that what if I will be all alone during birth. I am so scared that they wont allow my husband to stay or allow him to stay as much as we need him to be. I try to fight with these negative thoughts all the time.

Then I do hypnobirthing, trying to relax.

Millettmum · 08/05/2020 09:53

I'm starting to care less about the logistics of the birth. I'm getting rather fed up of the pain and only 32+1, even considering the early induction when I was set against it!

@Bikbikmum and @Millettmum sorry you ladies are suffering - pelvic girdle pain? It's so horrible!. Mine hasn't been terrible this time (yet) but it's definitely getting harder to climb the stairs etc.

[Warning: those of you with emetophobia may wish to avoid my next sentences] Has anyone else's fun pregnancy heartburn woken them up and made them sick? I am never sick - infamously in my family I have a stomach of cast iron - but last night I spent about half an hour hugging the toilet then had to go downstairs to sweatily sip milk for another hour or so at c.3am. Still couldn't cope with tea/breakfast until I had a coke zero and bowl of rice krispies at about 10am (I don't normally drink soda at all but for some reason it's always been The Cure for a upset tum for me). So I'm eating really healthily! Poor baby.

My hospital have said that husbands/partners will DEFINITELY be allowed in for the birth at least. So that's something - I hope it's the same for all of you. I'm also doing the online hypnobirthing course - not really my usual cup of tea but, to my surprise I am finding it does help a bit to lower anxiety and feel a bit more in control of things.

Millettmum · 11/05/2020 17:00

@LassoOfTruth
My heartburn isn't that bad but feeling it more whilst in bed, worst I've had is sucky burps and that's it but still coped without gaviscon.
Yes birth partners definitely allowed for active birth.

RenegadeMrs · 11/05/2020 17:33

Hello, sorry so many of you are having a hard time with PGP / SPD.

I'm in the horrible heartburn group. I haven't been sick from it (that sounds awful I hope you are feeling better today?), but it is constant from about 5.50 (now ish) to late in the evening every day. I'm getting a sore throat from it. I have a bottle of Gaviscon by my bed that I just swig from. If only it worked for longer!

Can anyone recommend a good online hypnobirthing course? Not to spendy if possible? I'm booked in for a c section on the 1st July but will try for a natural birth if she tries to make an appearence before that so feel I should do something to prepare for that eventuality too.

Goodgoodthings · 11/05/2020 20:43

Hi @RenegadeMrs, I’ve just finished the Positive Birth Company one which is £39 for about 6 hours of content and I’ve found it really enjoyable and informative. They also have lots of resources for free on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram to get a feel of it.

LassoOfTruth · 11/05/2020 20:57

Hi @RenegadeMrs - I'm doing the same Positive Birth Co course. I'm nowhere near finished it but am finding it pretty good - actually I might do some now instead of work (yawn)! I'm 3 weeks away from mat leave and somewhat losing the will to care about emails etc.

Yeah, bit fed up with having the constant taste of bile in my mouth - every time I bend over and especially when I lie down. I'll live, still feeling a little bit sicky but tbh if that's the worst I have to worry about health-wise I know I'm lucky. I can't cope with the taste of gaviscon (wimp) so have mainly been drinking milk, which luckily I actually like.

Sunshine8920 · 12/05/2020 08:09

Hi all, I'm due 16th June, was on the old thread, finally got round to making the move to this one!

How long has everyone got left? xx

Millettmum · 12/05/2020 08:30

@Sunshine8920
Sorry you wasn't tagged to come over, bit of a novice.
Due 2nd July but they're keeping a check to see if I need inducing a week early. So far so good.
I've got a feeling that baby has turned again and is now transverse, not breathless like she was breech but not feeling any high kicks near my ribs. Anyone else have this?

OP posts:
Sunshine8920 · 12/05/2020 09:37

@Millettmum No worries! Smile

I sort of have the opposite, baby was transverse for my growth scan 2 weeks ago but the past few days my breathlessness has improved and midwife yesterday said that baby's head is now down.

Definitely feeling it in the ribs though... powerful kicks and punches everywhere lol!

5 weeks today to go, everyone I know has been having theirs early! xx

Millettmum · 12/05/2020 13:33

@Sunshine8920
And with that she's kicking up towards my ribs again ha!

Afternoon ladies!

Right now I know this is a controversial subject but did or are any of you buying a sleepyhead for your baby?

We have a cot ready in his nursery for night time sleeping and I will be sleeping in the same room too but I'm looking to buy something to keep downstairs for his day time naps .. I didn't want to buy a snuzpod or similar as it won't be used for long and will take up space .. thought the sleepyhead would be good as I can put it next to me on the sofa.
Please let me know your thoughts as I've heard mixed things about them!!

Natmac190715 · 12/05/2020 15:38

@sophie1236 hey babe, I am due in 5 weeks and was in the same boat as you. Didn't really want to spend £130 on something that wasn't worth while. Most of my friends who have babies have them, but when I had my son 9 years ago there wasn't such things so I've opted for a cheaper option from Etsy and it's a handmade nest (basically the exact same thing) except you can't leave them unattended in it not sure if it says that on a sleepyhead or not. But I just got it as it was £35/£40 and means I can take it out in the garden etc and it fits in with my jungle theme room! Hope this helps! X

Sophie1326 · 12/05/2020 15:47

@Natmac190715 thank you for your reply!! We must have similar due dates.. I'm due on the 18th so will have five weeks left (hopefully) in a couple of days too 😆

Do you happen to have a link for the one you got from Etsy? I've seen lots of alternatives on amazon and Jojo mama Bebe and would be good to get something that's recommended! Sleepyhead is the same in that baby shouldn't be left in it unattended which I don't plan on doing as he'll be in it next to me on the sofa or wherever I am in the house! Xx

Natmac190715 · 12/05/2020 17:10

@sophie1326 sorry it won't let me add the photo but go on Etsy and search meloo kids I think she's on Instagram and Facebook too, her stuff is beautiful and really good quality. I can't see it listed on her Etsy but maybe because you pick what fabric?! Give her a message she's lovely! I'm due 19th babe, do you know what your having? How you feeling? XXX

Koo33 · 12/05/2020 18:21
