@Gigitree thank you

@Goldenmother welcome! I have finished washing baby clothes but I should prepare my hospital bag as well. I am 34 weeks today.

Goldenmother · 18/05/2020 21:21

@Bikbikmum thank you and congratulations it's all starting to seem very real now today we've built the crib and pram all getting excited.
Do you know if your having a boy or girl ? Any names you have in mind ?

Bikbikmum · 18/05/2020 21:49

@Goldenmother we are super excited too.. all shopping is done. But everything is still in boxes, we need to organize and get ready.

I have realized my bump dropped a bit, perhaps getting ready for the labour.

We will have a baby girl. We are still thinking names. What about you?

Goldenmother · 18/05/2020 23:09

@Bikbikmum we are having a little boy I already have a boy and girl, but I do find boys are easier and girls well my daughter was always stubborn and determined and a little diva at times which isn't a bad thing

Millettmum · 19/05/2020 09:23

I've been given some more clothes so need to get them washed. We don't have the pram or car seat at home, pram will be coming from my parents once she's born, when are people practicing with the car seat? X

@Goldenmother you will become a lovely family then! I will be a first time mum, we can bombard you with questions then (joking 😂)

@Millettmum we dont have a car but ofcourse we bought a car seat to use with taxi&uber. It is also mandatory to be discharged. My husband practised only once at John Lewis before we bought the car seat and it was before pandemic. I have never practiced myself.

Sunshine8920 · 19/05/2020 12:44

@Goldenmother have you got any name ideas?
I'm 36 weeks today, Pram also at mums house but car seat is ready to go. Just had my
Growth scan this morning, he's currently 6 pound 4. They seem to think they will be seeing me in a couple of weeks. I'm quite a small person so he's a big baby for the size of me they say!
xx

@Sunshine8920 when I had my growth scan 33 weeks he weight 5lb 40z but my 1st baby was 8lb 3 oz and was 5 days early and my daughter was 8lb 2oz and she came in the due date so I'm expecting him to be in the 8lb I've got another growth scan next week I'm assuming it will be my last one. We have a few names I like Mason and Tommy other half likes Albert but where I work in a school Albert and Albie are very popular. I'm swaying more to Tommy as it's not as popular as it was good few years ago.
Do you have any names ?

Sunshine8920 · 19/05/2020 15:31

Oh wow, a nice healthy baby

Sunshine8920 · 19/05/2020 15:33

Sorry I didn't mean to send that....

A nice healthy baby weight!
I work in a school also, it's so hard with choosing names isn't it!
I like Sebastian and William but my husband likes Charlie and Arthur we can't decide at all haha!

Goldenmother · 19/05/2020 16:32

@Sunshine8920 Charlie was on my list to start too but it is hard to not associate names with children from the school who can be a little challenging at times Grin

Sunshine8920 · 19/05/2020 17:37

@Goldenmother totally agree which is exactly why I'm not so keen on that name lol

It's all a bit weird with this coronavirus isn't it; in a way I feel lucky to have been able to spend some quality time at home with my husband although sadly we haven't seen my step children which has been really hard but it's been very peaceful and restful on the plus!

Goldenmother · 19/05/2020 18:45

@Sunshine8920 this virus has been challenging it's been nice to have been home and getting the jobs done that I would have had to do over the weekends when working so that been a plus but I miss seeing my family and going baby shopping as I've had to do most of it online but the main thing is we are all safe and well

Sunshine8920 · 19/05/2020 19:06

@Goldenmother it's definitely been a shame to miss out on all family and friends seeing bump grow, and feeling him kick and meeting up for coffee and baby shopping as this is my first. I've done all my shopping online too.

Thumbs up to being safe and well though!

Millettmum · 19/05/2020 19:34

I've had a growth scan today (33+5) she's estimated at 4lbs 11oz so far.

Goldenmother · 20/05/2020 00:22

@Millettmum that's lovely she growing nicely I think my scan next week will be the last one unless I go over my due date maybe I hope I don't I've never gone over my first was 5 days early and my 2nd was on due date

Millettmum · 22/05/2020 12:43

Anyone else having to go on furlough before maternity?

OP posts:
Goodgoodthings · 22/05/2020 14:08

@Millettmum my company called me and asked if I would “like to” at the end of April, which I politely declined! I think some ladies at work felt like it suited their needs to go before maternity but my husband is currently out of work so we just couldn’t afford it, plus I enjoy my job. My due date is 29th June and I break up on 26th.

Has this happened for you? How are you feeling about it?

Millettmum · 22/05/2020 14:37

@Goodgoodthings
Very much annoyed by it, still currently working from home which I was planning on doing until I gave birth, now I have to have a months reduced pay but probably still get phone calls from them. No need for me to go on furlough either!

OP posts:
Goodgoodthings · 22/05/2020 15:21

I’m really sorry to hear that @Millettmum it’s so frustrating, I felt the same when I got the call. I think some larger companies are abusing it to make up on annual targets and not because they actually need to, it’s so wrong. I hope that you’re able to find some silver lining, even though I know financially it’s really hard for a lot of people at the moment. Sending a virtual hug your way

Millettmum · 22/05/2020 16:24

@Goodgoodthings
Pure greed and they're doing record breaking sales!

@Millettmum mines the same! It’s just crap. Hoping you can enjoy some down time at least and relax before baby comes, sometimes these things have a way of working out alright in the end and I really hope that’s the case for you.

Bikbikmum · 22/05/2020 20:04

Hi ladies, I am officially off from work today. I have some holidays to use then they will start my maternity leave. I was also working from home.
