Well still couldn't have a sweep today, midwife could only just reach the cervix with the top of her finger. So induction it is tomorrow Envy

Good luck tomorrow @Millettmum !!! 🙏🏻🌸

Goodgoodthings · 01/07/2020 19:22

@Bikbikmum @Millettmum wishing you both the best of luck tomorrow! Hopefully we’re not far away from meeting our little ones now. I’m also going ahead with the sweep and trying to stay positive and just see what happens. She has to come out sooner or later!

Bikbikmum · 01/07/2020 21:04

@Goodgoodthings so kind of you!!! Good luck ladies to all of us tomorrow 😇 @Millettmum hopefully we will post healthy lovely baby pics soon... ❤️

Bikbikmum · 02/07/2020 14:11

@Millettmum @Goodgoodthings

Just an update, today I saw my midwife, she said my cervix has softened but I am still closed, not dilated. She said she massaged it a bit, I didnt feel any pain, perhaps this is not counted as sweeping :( I have another one booked for Sunday.

Also just learnt that my husband is given a notice by his employer and he will be unemployed at the end of this month! He was on furlough anyway. What a day! 😞

Hope you guys are all ok. xxx

LassoOfTruth · 02/07/2020 15:05

Oh @Bikbikmum I'm sorry to hear that! It does sound like a pretty rubbish day. Hang in there Re baby though. It'll probably all kick off when you least expect!

Millettmum · 02/07/2020 15:22

@Bikbikmum
Not what you to hear! Hopefully your husband can get something sorted out.

They attempted a balloon earlier for me but cervix too high up still (reason why I've had several failed sweeps) they've put a tablet up to soften cervix and to reattempt a balloon later. So just bored waiting on the ward. Even had my first daytime nap in years x

@Bikbikmum sending you a hug! That is so hard for both of you but I hope that things will improve in time. My husband is also unemployed right now as a consequence of covid and it’s been difficult but remember that there is a silver lining In him being able to potentially have more time with baby when she decides to make an appearance!

I just got back from the most frustrating sweep appointment with the midwife! She felt my tummy, told me baby’s head wasn’t even in my pelvis and that it would be “pointless” to even try to do a sweep. I lost my mucus plug today and she said it will probably just reform because she doesn’t think my body is ready 🤦‍♀️ I’m booked in for another try on Monday afternoon, and feel so deflated.

Millettmum · 02/07/2020 15:47

@Goodgoodthings
That's what I had at first sweep attempt. They won't do it as the cord could rupture first which is an emergency so I get why they need baby's head firmly down there first.

@Millettmum ah I’m glad to hear I’m not alone - just felt so frustrating to hear at the time but of course I want it to all be safe. How are you feeling? Are you on your own on the ward I guess? That must be hard! Keeping everything crossed for you that when they try the balloon again they have more success and things move along for you x

Millettmum · 02/07/2020 17:59

@Goodgoodthings
Yeah totally understand it is frustrating, our cervix's are not playing ball.
Another hour and they'll do another check.

@Millettmum @Goodgoodthings @LassoOfTruth thank you so much!!! I really appreciate positive messages, what I need most! ❤️

@Goodgoodthings today wasn't our day for sweep, but you lost your plug which is good. The baby's head was down but I couldnt also get a sweep. It is not our time yet! And they can drop in hours, sometimes just before labour I was told.

@Millettmum keep us updated how it is going with the balloon. Are you allowed to go back home or will you be there now?
It should be very hard on the ward but you need (we all need) oxytocin. My midwife told me to play with my nipples. Last thing we want right now.... we are waiting your good news 🙏🏻😇

Millettmum · 02/07/2020 18:44

@Bikbikmum

They’re pretty convinced that I would need another tablet, so looks like I'll be stopping in, if I have the balloon I could go home x

Bikbikmum · 03/07/2020 12:07

@Millettmum how are you???

Millettmum · 03/07/2020 13:22

@Bikbikmum
On my third tablet, still no balloon x

Bikbikmum · 04/07/2020 11:49

@Millettmum @Goodgoodthings how are you ladies? Still nothing for me.. 40+5 today

Goodgoodthings · 04/07/2020 13:36

@Bikbikmum after a full day of being grumpy and convinced I’d never have her, I started having contractions yesterday evening at 8pm. My labour went well until I had to have my waters broken at 6cms dilated and then things progressed very quickly and baby girl became pretty distressed. She was finally born by csection at 7:30am and fortunately everything has been great since even though it was far from what I’d hoped for.

Wishing you both so much luck, things can change when you least expect them to and I’m sure your babies aren’t far away now 💕

Millettmum · 04/07/2020 13:57

@Goodgoodthings
Congratulations! That was quick x

@Bikbikmum
I've been in hospital since Thursday, three tablets and currently got the balloon in, still no where near having baby x

Bikbikmum · 04/07/2020 15:07

Congrats @Goodgoodthings 😍🙏🏻wish you a speedy recovery. @Millettmum should be very difficult, hopefully this lovely baby will be out soon.

I have just had a very long walk and tomorrow will go for sweep, lets hope I will be dilated.

Millettmum · 04/07/2020 15:09

@Bikbikmum
Let's hope something starts for you, you'll still probably have yours before me ha x

LassoOfTruth · 04/07/2020 17:32

@Goodgoodthings congratulations!! And well done you! Flowers
Take it easy and enjoy snuggling with your little girl.
Am waiting with baited breath to hear good news for you other ladies. Thinking of you!

Goodgoodthings · 05/07/2020 02:13

@Millettmum @LassoOfTruth @Bikbikmum
thank you so much, I just can’t get over her and feel so lucky to have her after such a long time thinking I’d never be a mom.

The end is in sight now, stay positive as much as you can. I’m keeping everything crossed for you - you’ve got this!

Bikbikmum · 05/07/2020 11:35

Another sweep attempt failed today.. cervix is soft and thin but no dilation. I’ll go again on wednesday

Millettmum · 06/07/2020 08:15

@Bikbikmum
Failed sweeps are disheartening. I had three no goes.

Baby Ella was born yesterday morning at 8:06 weighing 6lb 8oz x
