@LucyBlackshaw20
Sounds like he'll be ready soon then!

Congrats @Sophie1326 ! So nice to see lots of lovely baby updates on here with more to come Grin

How is everyone feeling? This heat! I have taken to lying on the dog’s cool mat with a frozen hot water bottle, haha. My checks all went well at the weekend so back to the waiting game now, 39+3 today.

Bikbikmum · 25/06/2020 19:16

I am also 39+3 today. I have a midwife app next week on 40+3 and she wants me to decide whether I want any sweep. I don't know yet😖 I sincerely hope this little girl comes so soon without any interventions. I have scan on Monday -yes on my due date-

I am planning a home birth, fingers crossed. We have inflated the pool and now waiting.. it is so hard to wait without knowing what is going to happen, how and when it is going to happen 😇

Am so excited, want to meet with my baby girl 🙈

Goodgoodthings · 25/06/2020 21:06

@Bikbikmum so interesting - my sweep is booked in on 2nd as well and I’m feeling exactly the same. Going to try my best to get things going before it comes to that and just see how I feel on the day. Currently stuck to my birthing ball as going for a big walk is not something that appeals to me in this heat!

Bikbikmum · 25/06/2020 21:14

@Goodgoodthings I also don't want to go for a walk!! It was so hot today. I didnt attend my zoom yoga session as well. I should hop on to my ball too! One of the aromatherapists adviced me to mix clary sage with a base oil and apply it to my abdomen. She said That I need 15-20 ml base oil (could be sunflower oil, coconut oil any oil) and you mix it with clary sage essential oil. Every 5ml base oil needs 1 drop of clary sage. So if it is 20 ml base oil it would be 4 drops of clary sage. I still didnt decide whether to try this or not. I might try tonight! 😂nothing to lose. I am desperate to have a sign- seeing a show would do wonders...

Goodgoodthings · 26/06/2020 08:33

@Bikbikmum I’m so glad it’s not just me! I have some clary sage so might give that okay. Yesterday I made a big jug of raspberry leaf iced tea which was so nice in the heat although I don’t know that it does anything really. It’s a bit cooler / cloudier today so I might have a walk around the local garden centre. I’ve woken up with period like cramps but have had these a lot recently and they always seem to fade away again after a few hours.

Bikbikmum · 26/06/2020 14:07

@Goodgoodthings I also have period like cramps today, both sides, but I dont think it is anything serious. We applied clary sage onto my abdomen last night and I had a short walk at 10pm when it was cooler.

One more hot day, today will be last day of heatwave! Then it will be cooler.

Bikbikmum · 26/06/2020 20:14

How do we understand contractions? What if I don't understand how long they last? I think I feel them constantly.. I have an app but I can not track them, it is difficult to understand when they start and finish..

Millettmum · 28/06/2020 12:49

How's everyone holding up? I got very hormonal yesterday which wasn't normal. Really wanted her out by now and definitely before I got induced on Thursday x

OP posts:
Bikbikmum · 28/06/2020 13:20

@Millettmum good luck! I hope all goes well and you dont even need anything on Thu.

For me, I had wrong signal, those were definitely not contractions which I mentioned on below.

Everyone keeps asking when she will arrive as if I have the answer.. I even don't pass my due date yet, it is tomorrow.

My hopes for home birth keep diminishing, I am very stressful. Tomorrow I have an ultrasound, let's hope she is not too big. I use clary sage, amd everything else I can do, (raspberry leaf, date, primrose oil) they seem not working (yet)

I need to make my mind for sweep and induction- still didnt decide.

I think we might try having sex tomorrow - although it is last thing in my mind right now! I am so not in the mood.

We need oxytocin ladies, urgently and naturally 🤩

Millettmum · 28/06/2020 13:33

@Bikbikmum
That's a bummer. Let's hope something happens soon for us! I get hopeful with every twinge I feel. I'm also getting messages, also from people I hardly speak to! I've tried a spicy curry, walking, sex and bouncing on the ball everyday!

Goodgoodthings · 28/06/2020 17:20

Hi @Bikbikmum & @Millettmum, nothing here either and my due date is also tomorrow. I’ve tried to have a bit of a phone free weekend and it’s helped to stay away from the well meaning “any news” texts , not to mention the sweepstake my in laws are having! 😂The three girls I know who were due within a week of me have all had their babies and it’s hard to think “why not me” but we’ve got to remember that our babies are going to be here soon enough! Just got to stay positive and enjoy these last days/moments before everything changes.

Are you doing anything nice this evening to distract yourself? I am in need of some inspiration! There are rumours in my house of a takeaway and games night...

Bikbikmum · 28/06/2020 18:22

@Goodgoodthings good to hear from you my duedate buddy 😂🙏🏻 you are not alone!

We order some pizza and I baked a cake 🙈 I try not to think about my due date which is impossible. I also keep reading other mumsnet thread (Due date June 2020 thread 8) and their induction stories

I read today that in France, they calculate due date from 41 weeks not 40, so I guees I'll follow that in my mind... Our babies are not late, expectations are too early lol

I have ultrasound tomorrow, I'll update you guys, I hope I don't find out a 4kg baby, my bump keeps growing 😂

Millettmum · 28/06/2020 18:29

@Goodgoodthings
A bit of peace tonight after DSS has been for two nights, he's six and very hyper! Also the weekly family quiz on FaceTime.

@Bikbikmum
I've seen you on the other thread. I've even started following the thread talking about after birth and there's us just worrying about the birth at the moment Confused

OP posts:
Bikbikmum · 28/06/2020 18:32

@Millettmum is there any postnatal thread? I didnt know that. It would be nice after birth. I think we should also create one postnatal thread for this group... mostly will be July babies I guess 🙈

Goodgoodthings · 28/06/2020 18:33

@Bikbikmum haha I am right here with you! It is so difficult, on Friday night I was quite upset - it was a similar feeling to the times when friends had gotten pregnant while I had been trying for what felt like a hopeless eternity, so bittersweet! But they will come in their own time, just think that in the next two weeks maximum we are going to meet them for the first time. I hope your ultrasound goes really well tomorrow - one day closer to the big day 🥰

Sophie1326 · 28/06/2020 22:13

Hey ladies... so I was 40+6 when I had my baby on Thursday I had no warning anything was going to happen and was desperate to meet him leading up to this day..
I tried everything that's going but the last thing I tried was reflexology which I honestly feel really helped as the day after when I went for my sweep I was already 2cm dilated so if you can I would really recommend trying it! Your feet are linked to all parts of your body and a specialist will focus on your uterus mainly!

Bikbikmum · 29/06/2020 09:50

@Millettmum thanks! Perhaps mine will be a July baby now 😂😂

Congrats @Sophie1326 🙏🏻🌸 Today is my due date 40+0 and I need to make my mind for sweep until 2nd Thu. How was your experience with sweep?

Bikbikmum · 29/06/2020 10:19

Just had my scan.. my baby seem to be 8lbs 14 oz 😳 she is close to 90th centile.. is she going to be big baby?

Millettmum · 29/06/2020 16:19

@Bikbikmum
I was convinced I would have a June baby but looking the same to being July. I don't think they put on too much now at this stage do they? Let's hope it's sooner rather than later.

@Sophie1326
How are you and baby getting on? How do they do reflexology? Found the point on the foot but was going to try myself.

LassoOfTruth · 30/06/2020 09:37

Just checking in ladies, hang in there those of you still waiting! I'm sorry I've been absent - I only lost the bloomin thread somehow. Baby Dylan has been feeding around the clock so tbf I'm definitely a bit brain dead. Feeling better able to move around now but still sore etc This is why I didn't want another C-section but c'est la vie! I don't care now that he's here.
Not long now everyone, good luck I'm thinking of you! X

Bikbikmum · 30/06/2020 22:23

@LassoOfTruth very good to hear from you, hope you have a speedy recovery!

@Millettmum I desperately want her out now! 😂 I hope she will be around during the first week of July rather than a mid July! 🙈

Last night I had diarrhea (one-off) and today my stomach was funny. Not sure whether this was labour related or I had a bug. Today I slept all day, and just had my energy back.

I made up my mind, I will definitely give green lights to my midwife for a sweep on Thursday.

Sophie1326 · 01/07/2020 11:04

@Bikbikmum my first experience of the sweep wasn't good to be honest but that was mainly because my cervix was so high at that point- I had the 1st one my due date and second one I had three days later but in between I had reflexology and when I went back for the 2nd sweep after I had dilated 2cm!
With your knuckles keep pushing in the fleshy part between your ankle bone and heel .. I think there may be some diagrams on google to show you but that's basically your uterus ! If it's tender to do then that's a good sign!!

Bikbikmum · 01/07/2020 14:26

At my nct group, two mums gave birth after sweep, it took a day or two @Sophie1326 I dont think I will be able to access reflexology where I live, the small town is pretty much still closed and I am still isolating myself, I don't go out or meet with anyone until giving birth. (I live in Hertfordshire)

One of them told me that she had a very painful experience and massive contractions but perhaps I will take that risk. My homebirth chances keep diminishing each day. Also baby keeps growing, if ultrasound measurements are correct, she is 8 lbs 14 oz already 😂 I won't be allowed homebirth after 40+12 and today I am 40+2. I will see my midwife tomorrow, and most likely I will have my first sweep. So that I would still have time for 2nd one, if I need to. Best part would be the vaginal examination, we will know how is my cervix and whether I have dilated, wish me luck. It gets harder each day with pelvic and back pain. I want to meet with this baby girl.
