Congratulations @Sunshine8920, @Rosebel and @MRSRCH!!! And well done!
My waters broke on Wednesday (17th) morning, and contractions stopped and started all through the next couple of days until they ramped up on Friday evening. True to previous form though, as my labours are slow and my offspring apparently like to turn themselves around at the last minute, baby Dylan was born via c-section yesterday (Saturday) at 0830ish (what I should have done in the first bloody place). I forgive him though because he's utterly gorgeous and I'm in wuv big time. Now just praying I get to go home today and introduce him to his big sister!

@LassoOfTruth

Seeing the consultant today. They'll be pushing induction again, I'll see if I can still hold them off. 38+5

Good luck @Millettmum!

mum2bee123 · 23/06/2020 08:59

Can I please join the party very late? I am due on Sunday (28th June). First time mum with no indication that anything is going to kick off at all. No braxton hix, no show, no waters breaking, no cramps, no nasuea. Not a thing! What I do know is that she is 2/5ths engaged. The unknown makes it hard to truly relax and enjoy the last child-free days!

mum2bee123 · 23/06/2020 09:01

If anyone has any stories of having no indication that anything will happen and then bam things actually kicking off that would be really reassuring. I can't see how she'll ever want to make her entry into the world as she seems content in there...

LucyBlackshaw20 · 23/06/2020 09:15

I hope you don't mind me joining to the group so late on. My due date is tomorrow (24th June) and I'm a first time mum so totally clueless on what to expect!

Yesterday I started getting period like pains low down which I seemed to notice every 30 mins but then they seemed to lose any pattern later in the day and I had a bit of lower back pain in the afternoon. Through the night I had a couple of really sharper pains low down when I was getting up to the toilet but I haven't noticed much else yet this morning just some period like pains again. Would love to hear what everyone else is experiencing!

Keeping my fingers crossed he arrives sooner rather than later!

Millettmum · 23/06/2020 09:23

@mum2bee123
The only experience I had was waters breaking suddenly but then as nothing happened I had to be induced.

@LucyBlackshaw20
I've had the odd period like cramps a few times in a row but then stopped and led to nothing. I've also been getting sharp pains which really stop me in my tracks but think it's baby's head going down and midwife said it was still high on Saturday so couldn't have a sweep.

@Millettmum thank you for your reply! Fingers crossed he's moving down into position getting ready for any day ☺️ at my 36 week midwife appointment she put 2/5ths engaged and I can't quite figure out what she's wrote at 38 but she said he'd moved further down.

All being it's doable I'll be offered a sweep on Thursday when (if) I go back but I'm still unsure on whether to go for it or not.

Millettmum · 23/06/2020 10:07

@LucyBlackshaw20
There's mixed feelings about sweeps isn't there? Some find them horrible and others are fine, some work others don't. I personally was wanting one to avoid induction but baby had other ideas. Going to ask them today if she's engaged today. My second pregnancy so they sometimes don't go down until labour.

Sophie1326 · 23/06/2020 12:01

I had my second sweep yesterday which was a lot more successful according to the midwife.. it was no where near as painful as the first one it was just uncomfortable and had period cramps and some bleeding yesterday .. she said I'm 2cm dilated now hopefully not too much longer.. I'm 40+5 today so more than ready for this baby!! 🤣
I have another sweep booked for Thursday morning in case he doesn't make an appearance before then!

LucyBlackshaw20 · 23/06/2020 12:27

@Millettmum there certainly is, at first when my midwife suggested it to me I thought I may as well give it a go but after reading a few experiences now I'm thinking he'll come when he's ready I suppose (hopefully without the need for induction though!).

Hope everything goes well for you today at your appointment ☺️

Millettmum · 23/06/2020 15:24

So they're letting me go to my due date! Induction booked for then if she doesn't come on her own accord. Attempted a sweep but cervix closed so didn't happen again.

Welcome @LucyBlackshaw20 @mum2bee123

@Millettmum I am glad to hear that things work out as your wish

I am 39+1 today, due 29th and literally have no sign. I had some period like cramps over the weekend and that's it. I feel so tired and want to sleep all the time, it is so hot. I wish someone could tell me when this baby will be out. I am not sure what to expect since this is my first one.

Last week, I had CTG and it showed I had contractions (around level 40-50) and I didnt feel any of them.

I suppose to have an ultrasound scan this week, no one called me yet. I will also see my midwife next week for 40 weeks app. I need to make my mind until then for sweeps. We have planned a home birth, that's why I dont want to be touched as long as possible but if this little girl decides not to go out on time, then we might be changing our plans.

I wrote too much!! Yes. I am so stressed :(

Hope you are all fine xxx

LucyBlackshaw20 · 24/06/2020 13:17

Thank you @Bikbikmum

Not long left to go for you now! Wouldn't it be great if your due date was the definite date they'll arrive!

It's my due date today, I think I had a bit of a show this morning (not bloody) so hoping that means things are moving along and he'll be here in the next few days (fingers crossed) I'm unsure if I've had a couple of tightenings but nothing painful if so. I have my 40 week app with the midwife tomorrow so if nothing happens later today/over night I'll see what updates she can give me.

We're getting so impatient waiting to meet him now 🥰

Bikbikmum · 25/06/2020 00:23

How are you ladies during this crazy heatwave? I have swollen feet, legs and hands 🙈 OMG it is so hot!!!

Millettmum · 25/06/2020 06:11

@LucyBlackshaw20
Fingers crossed!

@Bikbikmum
Last night was unreal, even with two fans our bedroom was stupidly hot. Ended sleeping in a different room but constantly waking up.

Hey Ladies, just an update from me had the second sweep on Monday was successful as had cramping and they managed to do a good old sweep.. felt nothing on Tuesday but yesterday started to get on and off cramping which I dismissed but it carried on from 6am till about 1pm so went into triage.. fast forward a few hours and I had my baby boy at 5:35 this morning! Weighing 6lbs15!
Started with hormone drip with gas and air but the pain was so intense I opted for an epidural which I would have again and again it's amazing !!!

LucyBlackshaw20 · 25/06/2020 14:53

Little update from me, just been for my midwife appointment (40+1) and decided to go for the sweep which she said was successful and baby's head is very low down. She said she'll be surprised if he doesn't arrive in the next few days so fingers crossed she's right ☺️
