Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Sorry was meant to say "WFH for over 3 years"

MrsH497 · 17/03/2020 19:53

Thanks @Jessikka feels like it will be a long few weeks before maternity leave starts!

My dad is apparently being stubborn and still is going to see his elderly parents at the weekend, and wants to carry on as normal but my mum is asthmatic as well so she's concerned 🙄

MrsH497 · 17/03/2020 19:56

Ahh pressed post too soon!! Keep trying to tell mum not to get annoyed with him it's a stressful situation for everyone.

Waiting to hear whether NCT classes have been cancelled as they start this week. X

Jessikka · 17/03/2020 20:15

I only have 2 weeks left! I finish 3rd April and then I'm on baby wait! Will finish a day before 39weeks! If I make it that long ha!

cupcakesandglitter · 17/03/2020 21:30

Ahh @Jessikka it'll be a lovely surprise for you!! Do you have any gut feeling as to what baby is?

@MrsH497 glad you can WFH - it's a shame you're not able to see anyone but take it as time for you and baby to bond through this last bit and enjoy every second x

@ELW85 they don't but DH is picking me up a spicy curry as I'm typing 😅 I've just had my first sweep, I've got my induction on Thursday now - but mine is only because of my GD. It seems to be really varied re inductions without any medical complications, I've seen some women say they can get offered them around 40+10.. they might offer you another sweep before an induction but hopefully little man makes an appearance before then 😁 keeping everything crossed for you!!

So my sweep was a little uncomfortable, but I'm 1cm dilated and the CTG showed I have been having tightenings which is exciting. Got a few cramps now but that could just be a side effect from the sweep. Going to eat my spicy curry and get back on the birthing ball at home - already told DH we're going to DTD tonight 😂 listening to the PBC MP3s to relax atm!

LikeTheFruit · 17/03/2020 21:35

Hello everyone

So sorry for radio silence. Baby girl was born at 1:06am on Monday morning! Ended up with rotational forceps delivery in theatre after pushing for over 2 hours in the pool with only some paracetamol. The spinal anaesthetic was glorious! 😂😂. She turned so easily and came with next push. Got home today and just finding our feet. She's feeding like crazy so far!

No name yet!

ELW85 · 17/03/2020 21:42

@cupcakesandglitter - ooh so this Thursday or next Thursday? Very exciting if they’ve brought it forward! How are you feeling?

@LikeTheFruit - congratulations!! She is absolutely beautiful 😀 you’ve done so well with the birth, and it’s great you’re home already!

LikeTheFruit · 17/03/2020 21:50

For hit to say she was a huge 4.08kg (8lb15.5oz!) and a very long 57cm. She's so tall!!

Feeling v emotional that this is happening during pandemic and we aren't able to share her joy in person as much as we'd like.

cupcakesandglitter · 17/03/2020 22:47

Ahhh @LikeTheFruit massive congratulations! And what a healthy sized baba 🥰 glad you're both doing well - it's a shame about COVID but at least you're both safe and healthy xx

@ELW85 this Thursday!! Tbh I asked them to, my anxiety is through the roof with COVID and DH not really being allowed to WFH. MW said that DH most likely won't even be allowed to stay overnight on the labour ward with me 😮 they're really clamping down in my hospital so I'm keen to have her before they stop anyone accompanying me!! How are you feeling for your sweep?

MrsH497 · 17/03/2020 23:13

Awww @LikeTheFruit what a little darling! She's beautiful. How are you doing? So glad she's here safely xx

Lemonysherbet · 18/03/2020 07:48

Huge congratulations @LikeTheFruit she's incredible. I hope you're doing well :)

Jessikka · 18/03/2020 08:50

Congratulations @likethefruit what a stunner!

@cupcakesandglitter Sixth sense is saying a boy - I've referred to baby as 'him' since about 22 weeks so baby is actually a girl, it will be an even bigger surprise! I'm happy with either 🥰 just want baby healthy in this current climate 😬

ELW85 · 18/03/2020 09:42

@cupcakesandglitter - really? I’ll have to ask my midwife about that on Friday. I don’t want to be alone in hospital so I’ll have to see what they say.
I’m not looking forward to the sweep but even less so about being induced if I’m honest.
I really want him to hurry up; the sooner we can get home before the hospitals really get hammered, the better.
Can’t believe you’re being induced tomorrow! How exciting! How are you feeling?

cupcakesandglitter · 18/03/2020 10:25

@Jessikka that's what happened with me, I was sure she was a boy! Scan showed she's definitely a girl - I was in shock! 😂 a healthy baby is all that matters though 😊

@ELW85 definitely worth speaking to them about - I don't think they would've told me had I not asked! We can only have one visitor, and that's the birth partner so he's the only person that can be with me in the hospital. From what I remember, she said when I'm on the ward being induced, he won't be able to stay with me so he'll have to go home, I'm guessing once I'm in established labour I can call him back? Really scared he'll leave his phone on silent and sleep through it 😂 the MW said "ooh don't worry you won't give birth by yourself!" But it's not reassuring if it isn't DH with me, same goes for overnight too ☹️ I'm not really looking forward to induction either - sweep was uncomfortable but I lost my bloody show at 4am, managed to get a couple of hours sleep after so I'm just going to do everything I can today to try and avoid induction tomorrow. I guess just knowing she's safe is getting me through it for the time being but it's not the birth id have wanted at all!!

LokiCat · 18/03/2020 11:11

@LikeTheFruit ahh huge congratulations! She's absolutely beautiful 😍 glad to hear you're all happy, healthy and home. Enjoy all the newborn cuddles 💕
I was just discussing with my mum that it's sad COVID is here during what should be such a special time for us all, but at least your little one is here and healthy.

@cupcakesandglitter I'm sorry to hear all this pandemic is causing you so much anxiety though. I hope DH can stay with you overnight in the labour ward at least! I don't think I'd be able to manage being alone.. I'm keeping up to date with our maternity teams twitter page. It seems they're only allowing 1 birth partner and only they can be the visitor in the postnatal ward, which I'm happy with (although would have loved for my mum to be able to be there as well). I'll try get more information next week at my appointments though.
Sounds like things are slowly picking up! You're so close to meeting her!! Hopefully things will start off without you having to be induced.
I hope you're okay, I know it's tough with everything else going on as well xx

@ELW85 happy first anniversary for Monday! Were you both able to have a romantic night in?
I hope the sweep goes well for you on Friday and it can start things moving.
You don't have to be induced from what I understand? I assume you can ask for another sweep if this one doesn't work much, especially if you don't want to be induced.
How are you feeling about everything?

@MrsEG happy anniversary for Monday as well!
That's brilliant that they're getting on well and putting on weight properly. They're adorable! How are you feeling?

I'm WFH for my last two weeks as well now (well a week and a half left now!), which I'm so thankful for. DH unfortunately still has to go in, so I've made sure he's stocked up with hand sanitizer and is staying a good distance away from any one he needs to speak to.
Our nursery furniture is arriving today; so excited to finally put that up. Got our wall decals in and ordered a rocking chair from ALDI (I can't remember who on here recommended it, but I hope it's comfy!!). Hopefully it'll all come together by this weekend 🙊
I've been getting really intense Braxton Hicks contractions the last three days. I hope it doesn't mean anything is actually starting off though as it's still too early!! Baby has been moving so much though, which is reassuring (although a bit painful at times now!).

I hope you're all managing okay through this pandemic. All the uncertainty is quite unnerving, but I hope all our babies will here safe and healthy 💕

ELW85 · 18/03/2020 14:29

How are we all?
Baby has been going mad today; I’m so achey. Hoping this is a good sign and he’s on his way!

@cupcakesandglitter - I’m so surprised at that. Could you go home with him and then go back in once you’re in active labour?
How are you feeling now? Keeping everything crossed for you that labour kicks off properly so you don’t need the induction.
It just feels awful that we’re having to make decisions we might not make if the COVID-19 crisis wasn’t a thing.

@LokiCat - thanks, we had a lovely anniversary!
I just feel like we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don’t want to be induced, but I don’t want to leave it for another couple of weeks for the hospitals to be a worse place. It’s really catch 22.

LokiCat · 18/03/2020 14:40

@ELW85 yeah I completely understand. I don't even want to think about what the hospital situation will be when I'm due to give birth in 4/5 weeks!
Hopefully you and @cupcakesandglitter will have your little ones soon; just in time for Mother's Day this Sunday, which will be so special :)

ELW85 · 18/03/2020 18:32

@LokiCat - it’s just the unknown isn’t it? I’m sure it’ll all be fine and the latest RCOG guidance is quite reassuring.
I’m feeling like he’s really low today, so I’m hoping he plays ball and comes at the weekend!
I’d love to avoid the sweep but it sounds quite promising from what @cupcakesandglitter has said, so I’ll definitely give it a go!

cupcakesandglitter · 18/03/2020 20:43

Thanks lovely @LokiCat ahh has the furniture arrived?! I have the ALDI chair, it's fantastic 😂 (Will report back post labour for this too 😂)

Ooh @ELW85 fingers crossed!! Any BH/surges? I'm not able to go home with him, once I'm in I have to stay in to be monitored because I'm high risk which sucks ☹️ I agree, it's horrible knowing we're almost forced to make a decision. Fingers crossed our little ones will be here this week 🤞🏽

Enjoying my last meal of pizza 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ been having some cramps which seem to be getting more painful. Going to have a bath, and bounce on my birthing ball to try and avoid induction but I've just accepted if it has to happen it will 🤷🏻‍♀️

ELW85 · 18/03/2020 21:07

@cupcakesandglitter - d’y know, I don’t think I’ve had a BH yet!!
Oh no, it sucks that you’ll have to stay in for monitoring. Do you know how long for?
Good luck with tonight and dodging the induction - you’ll have to let us know. Got everything crossed for you and remember, you’ll have that gorgeous little girl in your arms soon!

LokiCat · 18/03/2020 22:02

@ELW85 yeahh, I guess all the precautions are just that and the RCOG guidance has made me feel a bit more reassured.
That does sound really promising!
Yeah, it sounds like the sweep may start things off, so hopefully the one on Friday will help push things along?

@cupcakesandglitter yess furniture has arrived and the ALDI chair should be coming either tomorrow or Friday (I look forward to your post labour update 😜). DH and his best friend are putting the furniture together tomorrow evening whilst I sit back with a pizza 😁
Enjoy the pizza tonight. Hope the bath and birthing ball help, if not I'm sure all will go okay tomorrow as well.

Got everything crossed for you both!! So exciting! 💕

cupcakesandglitter · 18/03/2020 22:50

@ELW85 you may be surprised, I didn't know I was having them until they hooked me up onto the CTG machine! I think as soon as they call me in to be induced that's pretty much it - I can walk around the hospital but can't actually leave 🙁 and then I'm definitely in for 24hours after I've had her so they can monitor both of our blood sugars to check there's no diabetes. Currently cleaning through the house staying active, running my bath in a sec 😂 If I don't manage to get back onto here tomorrow, best of luck to you, I'll be thinking of you and hope everything goes well and you meet little Finlay soon too!! 💕

Ahh fantastic @LokiCat that's the best way to do it 😂 I'd love to see your nursery pics after 😁 Thankyou 🥰 will keep you all posted whenever possible!! X

Fivebyfive2 · 19/03/2020 07:39

@kikethefruit, congratulations!! What a little whopper!! So cute 😀 Hope you're all doing OK xx
