@ELW85 I've also caught up on GBBO and was surprised that Steff cried like that! Pet lip came out an everything! Also, your cute bump 🥰 and I'm loving your flooring, excellent hoover lines! And I love the tiles, I want something like that in my kitchen.

@MrsEG I'm also rooting for David to win. I was so happy he got his 1st for once!
@Anny27 def get a badge, my friend is due December and she doesn't have a badge, and now she refuses to get on the train to work at certain times because people are twats and don't give her a seat... she's been showing for a long while now too! I think the badge would make people look and think more.

Lots of back ache for me today so I'm off for a short walk at lunch, then have my pedi tonight so I'm hoping for a nice lower leg massage at the same time🤞🏻 happy Thursday everyone this week is flying now and I couldn't happier.

@purplefig the plasterer's not sorted yet! Job for the DH, then if I have to get involved, the plasterer will know the crap's hit the fan! 😂

@MrsEG I went to see my sister last night (she's 6 weeks behind me) and she hated me because I'm all bump and she's really not, bless her!! I'm with you on the not weighing/measuring - I would drive myself crackers!!

@BabySquid let me know if you find anything to help with your back - mine is really playing up at the moment. Stretching helps, but it comes back! I find I'm more comfortable walking than sitting atm.

@MrsR16 ha ha fair play, I hope he gets it sorted soon in that case!

How are we doing?
I’ve managed to speak to the midwife and convince myself everything is fine.
Also just stuffed my face with pizza with DH and feel loads better.

@purplefig - I couldn’t agree with you more on your body image points and I am working on mine but it’ll always be a work in progress. I’m SO much more chilled about it than I was (hence the pizza 😂) but we’re definitely our own worst critics.
Sorry you’re not getting on with your book either! I feel like I have to see it through but it is a bit of a grind.

@BabySquid - wasn’t Steff ridiculous?!
And thank you! DH won’t let me hoover at the moment, so it’s his handiwork. We were lucky that the kitchen was largely as it is now when we bought it 2 years ago as the extension was fairly new so not a lot of work needed!

Hi ladies! We realised today that our NCT classes start in 2 weeks!! I know a few of you gals signed up to them, just wondering what people think of them?

@ELW85, I'm a little late to reply but my guess would be shaving... I gave up a few weeks ago because of a nasty nick when it got difficult to see! Also, I did have a couple instances of tiny streaks when I wiped, but noticed it was usually after doing a particularly large poo 😳

How's everyone doing with nursery stuff? I think it was @purplefig who mentioned the theme was 'all the animals'?! Sounds fab! Ours has gone from being 'the sky' with clouds/balloons etc to also include lots of animals. There's now a noahs ark canvas on the way from amazon 😂 I justified it by saying 'there are clouds on it' so it kind of fits!

@MrsR16 the Moses basket came today I went to pick it up in store! OH has built it tonight and it's beautiful. we really are completely ready for him now! I can't believe you are 31 weeks already!

@MrsEG your bump is fabulous! You look absolutely beautiful please don't feel like a frump! I know it's hard. I keep having dreams about OH being unfaithful and waking up upset. I think it's a general insecurity I've got now my body isn't one I recognise at all. Poor sod- he's only trying to have a nights sleep 😂😂.

I've attached a pic of our Moses basket (does it no justice to be honest. Neither does the disgusting dog bed 😂) and a little bump photo from today at 37+3. Excuse my clothes on the floor they're to go to charity shop but I haven't yet actually bothered to bag them up 🙄😂

@ELW85 pizza is a good solution to most things!! 😂

@Fivebyfive2 I have absolutely everything to go in the nursery, just can't decorate it yet! 🙄

@MrsR16 Thankyou I'm so glad we are finally sorted after all the Moses basket palava 😂 mamas and papas have been fab though I really reccomend them! Aw Thankyou I don't feel so fabulous now but the end is nigh! Are you excited to start your nursery?

@ELW85 Aww Thankyou lovely. I'm feeling ok in myself, but the aches/pains and lack of sleep is really prominent now! I finish work today so last day today! I think I'll be bored, but it will be nice to take mornings at a leisurely pace rather then rushing around to be ready for work.

Has anyone got any exciting weekend plans? It's OHs bday tomorrow so I've told him to let me know the breakfast of his choice and he has a one off opportunity for me to make it for him in bed! Then we are going for a meal with the full family tomorrow night so that should be nice. Hope you have a lovely Friday!

@purplefig Thanks lovely, feeling a lot better today actually after a good chat with my mum and sister as they both carried big and gained a lot of weight when pregnant. It’s just my genes, can’t do much to change that! And I read over some more of my twin book too, and it was so fascinating/overwhelming what’s going on in there that I’m just in awe of my little uterus today!

@BabySquid I really want David to win GBBO too I’ll be so irritated if it’s Steph! Hope you enjoyed your pedi and manicure! I’m thinking of treating myself to a shellac this weekend, it’s been months!

@MrsR16 Your poor sister - I know how she feels haha! Had to go and get an emergency cape for my Halloween dress yesterday to cover up my huge behind 🙈 Yep I’m well with you on the not weighing myself - my midwife doesn’t even weigh me anymore which I’m delighted about.

@thumper59 Happy last day at work!! You look fabulous as ever, the Moses basket is beautiful too. That’s so weird about your dreams - I’ve been having dreams that I am being unfaithful!! Once with a woman!!! It’s so odd what hormones do to the brain haha!

@Fivebyfive2 Enjoy your NCT classes! My sister didn’t like hers but it hasn’t stopped me signing up to them either haha! Seems like a first pregnancy right of passage to me! Mine has an additional twin day at the end though so if anything, I’m hoping to meet a couple more twin parents!

Happy Friday all! Had a very dramatic day at work yesterday. Won’t bore you with the details but it involved someone fabulous handing her notice in 😟 Then had aquanatal which I’m really enjoying, mainly because the other women at the class are just all so, so lovely! Slept like a baby afterwards too - result! WFH today and have the cots and a wardrobe arriving - DH is getting the painting finished today so we can put them up next week :) My consultant told me to make sure everything is ready by 28 weeks, so at nearly 22 I suddenly feel like I’m on the clock!!

@babysquid outside of London people are observant but i feel even if i have a badge on the tube, no-one looks up from their phone or newspaper haha! I always make a conscious effort at each new stop to see if any new elderly or pregnant people have come on.

Looking forward to not waking up at 6 tomorrow and having a relaxing ish weekend!

@purplefig you're so right about the body confidence! I think my pregnancy body confidence has taken a huge hit since a couple of weeks ago when an acquaintance through work told me how different my bump was to another girls because I'd "gained weight everywhere" especially my hips and thighs, apparently. Literally didn't know whether to slap her or cry in that moment!

@Fivebyfive2 I haven't ended up signing up to NCT because of the times it's on and it's quite pricey, just gone for my local NHS ones instead but hoping I don't regret it!!

@thumper59 - sorry I’ve got no idea why I thought you were already off! Obviously confused (can I blame baby brain?!) well happy last day at work!! I hope they spoil you!

@MrsEG - oh no! It’s always rubbish when someone you really rate quits. Has it unsettled everyone?

@Anny27 - good luck with the tube! We’re heading to London next weekend to see Ian McKellan; cannot wait!

@ELW85 glad you're feeling reassured - can confirm pizza improves any day!! I think the whole body image thing is a huge journey, as well as something that has to be consciously worked on, as standards and expectations are constantly shoved in our faces. I've noticed it even with pregnancy, Women’s bodies are constantly policed. What on Earth, for example, constitutes a "neat" bump?!?!?? 🤣

@thumper59 that's so exciting!! How long will you take mat leave for do you think? On the cleaning front, I discovered the organised mum method earlier this year and it's made a huge difference given it's just 30 mins a day and no weekend cleaning 🙌🏻 Have a fab time celebrating your partners birthday, sounds like a lovely day.

@Fivebyfive2 ooo let us know how you get on with NCT! Ours start at the end of the month and I'm childishly enthusiastic. Haha yes it was me that's gone for "all animals" 🤣 it started as we don't know what we're having and the best unisex clothes are covered in animals imho...and it's spiralled fervently from there! Happy nursery decorating, yours sounds lovely.

@MrsEG acceptance and awe - that sounds like a really good place to be 🙌🏻 your body is incredible. Not growing one but TWO humans from scratch!! Wow work does sound hectic atm, I bet WFH day is exactly what you feel like! Ooo happy putting together the nursery weekend - it's going to be gorgeous.

@Tropicana1 oh mate, sorry to hear that. When will people learn it's just plain bad manners to comment on other people's bodies?? It's just so, so rude. Really sorry you had to listen to that and I think it would be pretty impossible not to let that affect you. Big hugs. Your body is doing the most amazing thing right now, I find focusing on that (and reading up on the development) can give me a fresh perspective and sense of wonder at myself i.e. focusing on what my body can do, not what it looks like.

@purplefig - honestly couldn’t agree more with you! I feel like in pregnancy everyone feels like they’re co-opted into my body or having an opinion on it which is driving me crazy.
MiL now finds it ok to randomly touch my bump whenever she feels like it (I know she’s family) but has also taken to calling me “fatty.” I know it’s not malicious and she’s just not thinking but I’ve been working really hard to stick to a balanced diet and stay as active as I can, so I do get irritated by it.

@MrsEG - I had a community midwife, but when I saw her at 16 weeks she said I will now have a hospital twin midwife and signed me off with her - but no one from the hospital midwife team has contacted me and I have no way of contacting them. I have a list of questions - but equally I’m not sure if it’s strictly midwife Questions or not!

@Anny27 I don’t know if it’s me being a gobby Northerner but if I was on the tube and no one got up I’d be asking! I’m so shocked by it - I got the train last week and was offered a seat by no less than 3 people, they were practically falling over themselves to let me sit down! I’d say just go over and say ‘Excuse me I’m pregnant and not feeling too good, could I have your seat?’ Pick an able-bodied chap and get his arse up!

@ELW85 ugh it’s just rubbish because she’s lovely, and she’s leaving because she cannot stand to work with another woman anymore, who is dreadful - so we’re all just reeling a bit that we’re losing a good one! The same woman was named as a specific reason for another person leaving at the start of the year too. I don’t understand why she isn’t being properly pulled up on it!!

@purplefig I know, can feel them both wriggling about a bit today too, kinda like if there was a fish swimming about in there?? It’s so weird! How fab DH felt a kick :) Enjoy the wedding weekend! Can’t wait to see your dress!

@PippaPug oh how frustrating, do you have a next appointment scheduled at the hospital? I just have a twin consultant and then the regular midwives so I don’t know who you’d be asking your questions to to be honest if you have specific twin midwives! Just ask anyone you see and see what they say haha!

@ELW85 yeah baby brain is perfectly fine! I blamed it when I crashed my car into my own wall 😂 Thankyou! I hope so too although it's my dad who's my boss so I reckon he'll say he's spoilt me enough 😂

@purplefig I've got 6 months, it's a bit different here as I work for my dad in our little
Family business, so im still gonna do bits and bobs I am too precious about to hand over 😂 but I can do from my laptop at home. We have a new girl now who is covering me in the shop and answering the phones etc so she is replacing me here. Ooo that sounds good. I try to keep on top of stuff during the week so I just polish and do a good hoover on a weekend. Can't wait to see the wedding bump pic!!

@MrsEG totally if i ever felt really bad i'd pick a young man and ask him haha! I am welsh, but living in south east and people on trains back home are always much more willing to give their seat up!

@ELW85 hopefully its not too busy on a saturday!

@Any27 - I get the train to London and then the tube a fair bit - if you feel like you need a seat please just ask, I tend to ask the person sitting in the priority seats if it’s possible if I could sit down as I’m pregnant and I have no balance (and I’m sure you will) but be aware that someone could need that seat - no one has said no to me so far (although only asked twice) answers every other time someone has given up their seat for me.

@MrsEG - if just seems a faff atm! I have my 20 week scan next Thursday so hopefully will meet my twin midwife then - I don’t think I have any plans to meet the consultant till Jan! It’s very interesting how the maternity care is different depending on what area we are all in!

I still don’t feel pregnant and nor any movements which I’m sure are 100% movements? And feeling all nervous about the scan again.

I'm feeling horrid today - really sick and have been filming all morning for work, desperately trying to hide it! Hoping it wears off. The only thing that's helping is eating more - I'm not going to lie, the sudden weight gain already is freaking me out. I put on about a stone before getting pregnant (coil removal 🙄) and I know I shouldn't care but I already feel like a whale 😫

@Anny27 definitely get the badge! I can't face the tube - I've got Uber's everywhere today.

@PippaPug I'm sure everything will be fine at your scan - totally understand the worry though.

@MrsEG You still have 6 weeks to do the nursery - plenty of time! Our spare room (which will be the nursery) is the final room in our house to be decorated - I'm looking forward to eventually doing it!

Quick wee message to say had our 20 week scan today and all looking good. The wee gymnast had its legs behind its head and was doing somersaults! Ive got an anterior placenta which is why I haven't felt much yet but it's not low so all good.

Furniture is here!! The first delivery guy went ‘Christmas baby?’ I was like ‘no no, I’ve a little longer than that!’ - surely the delivery of two cots is the dead-giveaway?! Getting excited to paint and build now!

@Anny27 Northerners and the Welsh clearly need to head to London and teach some basic manners haha!

@PippaPug How far along are you? I didn’t feel anything really other than an internal itch at around 19 weeks? Only really the last week that it’s undeniable that it’s the babies. And it’s still light! I have to be sat down and concentrating! Enjoy your 20-week scan it’s magic - be prepared for it to take a while, mine did - they have to do all the checks twice over!

@Larrydavid I gained 12lb in my first trimester, 4 of those between week 10-12. I was always so, so hungry and it kept the nausea at bay too. The midwife had no concerns at all and said if you’re hungry, eat! Your body is doing so much - growing a poppy-seed sized embryo into a little baby!

@thumper59 super excited to start the nursery! Even though we won't need it to start with, it'll be wonderful to have it done!

@MrsEG take solace in the fact that you look beautiful! Bump is doing well which means babies are doing well! That can only be a good thing. I've really struggled with my body image since becoming pregnant, so get where you're coming from! Hilarious about the delivery bloke... 😂😂😂

@ELW85 that doesn't sound much fun! My DH calls me "fatty" but that's our type of humour. I wouldn't expect that from MIL!

@PippaPug oh hun, you're doing ok! Perfectly normal to feel nervous! There are genuinely times I forget I'm pregnant! I've been lucky with movements, but it can be 24 weeks before they're able to be felt, from what my midwife was saying.
