November babies - getting close now...

Thought I'd post another November babies thread as I haven't seen one in ages. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow and it's starting to feel very real now! Not that the crazy heartburn and ever expanding bump wasn't enough of a reminder... anyone else due in November and want to chat?

@KatieKat88 @Weathergirl1 he made me love them first! Rubbing beaks, they only have one chick every 2 years and then that they don't want to leave their young. Plus they're so fluffy! I was a mess.

KatieKat88 · 28/10/2019 09:07

To be fair, if that chick hadn't gotten himself back into the nest I would have felt very differently! Can't believe they can't recognise them otherwise!

I'll be dreaming about not recognising my baby now. Just like a mum albatross.

Hayesdays · 28/10/2019 14:22

I missed the new Attenborough show, was going to watch it tonight but after your reviews I'm not sure I have the emotional strength! It doesn't take much to set me off in to floods of tears these days...

How's everyone feeling?

Nothing new to report here. I'm pretty sure baby is still breech. Got a rock hard lump right up in my ribs so I suspect that's her noggin. Got my next checkup a week tomorrow when I'll nearly be 37 weeks and 'options will be discussed' - sounds dramatic haha

Weathergirl1 · 28/10/2019 15:07

@Hayesdays exactly how mine feels - solid lump under my ribs! Been to the hospital this morning. CTG was all fine - kiddo behaving itself (other than the obvious!). Had a brief conversation with a consultant, option is just ELCS next week, which is fine by me, so am definitely booked in for the 7th unless something happens before then.

Had another set of bloods taken, this time with a phlebotomist, who was shocked by the bruise I have on my arm where I had bloods done a week ago! And she gave me a smiley face on the plaster 🙂

Just to prove there is an end in sight (something I have been questioning over the past 4 days!) here is the first thread baby.

After 4 days of on/off contractions I woke up at 4am to my waters breaking (in DD3's bed, I hopped out sharpish so as not to wake her up!) and he was born at 1217. All fine and should be home for (a ginormous) dinner.

Hope he doesn't have to wait long for companions!x

Wahay!!! Congratulations @Montgomerystubercles Lovely news!
When were you due? Hope all went well and you are recovering nicely? Does he have a name?

@Weathergirl1 Lovely smiley plaster haha! Has your section been booked in earlier due to your water trickle?

Weathergirl1 · 28/10/2019 15:25

Congratulations @montgomerystubercles ! Enjoy that ginormous dinner 😁

Weathergirl1 · 28/10/2019 15:33

@HayesDays yes, they want baby out around 37 weeks (I'll be 37+2). Appointment to discuss potential ELCS was tomorrow so that is now cancelled. Before this all kicked off I was aiming for uncomplicated birth centre delivery (was feeling confident about that with the hypnobirthing we've been doing!) but wanted an ELCS as back up in case things started to get complicated (my absolute nightmare scenario was assisted delivery as I have tokophobia). So all in all, I'm not too unhappy with how it's turned out - if it hadn't been breech they were offering induction due to PPROM so the breechiness has saved me having to decline that!

Unsureursula · 28/10/2019 15:34

@Montgomerystubercles congratulations he’s beautiful! Hope you’re recovering well!
My ELCS is scheduled for wed- getting nervous now!

Hayesdays · 28/10/2019 15:52

thanks for explaining @Weathergirl1with our due dates being pretty close I was thinking they might just book me in pretty quickly after midwife app next week. But so far my waters are intact! So I should have a couple more weeks of head in ribs to enjoy...haha oh joy!

But there's still time for her to turn so watch this space! I've also gone down the hypnobirthing route, my class had a whole section on hypnobirthing for C-sections so I feel prepared at least for whatever happens.

Dramaofallama · 28/10/2019 16:17

Montgomerystubercles

He is adorable. Congratulations.

Enjoy your massive dinner later Grin

ruralcat · 28/10/2019 17:22

@Montgomerystubercles oh he's gorgeous, congratulations! Fingers crossed for more babies on the way.

leomama81 · 28/10/2019 17:43

He's gorgeous @Montgomerystubercles - congratulations!

Ooh lots of people getting close, good luck with your ELCS @Unsureursula

I have a 36 week scan and midwife appointment Weds, wondering if they might bring my ELCS forward if he is still off the charts massive? (He was 5lb 9 estimated at 32 weeks).

Also am quite stressed because at my midwife appointment two weeks ago (not my regular midwife) she painted a scenario in which if I go into labour before my ELCS date (currently at 39+4) and they didn't have a theatre free I might be forced to give birth vaginally. Absolutely my worst nightmare as I have anxiety and a history of PTSD and depression and am terrified of birth injuries. I had been assured previously that that would not be allowed to happen so it really pulled the rug from under me to hear that and I've been catastrophising quite a lot again. Feel like I've got to go in all guns blazing on Weds and have this battle all over again 🤦‍♀️...

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 28/10/2019 17:51

@Montgomerystubercles he's beautiful! Congratulations and enjoy dinner!!

@leomama81 my boy is estimated 7lb 1oz at 33 weeks and nobody seems particularly concerned. They would allow me to labour naturally but I'm leaning towards a section plus he might now be transverse. My mum was booked in for an ELCS and went into labour naturally, they had no issue in getting her a theatre, she was pushed a little as an emergency with twins came in but they still had plenty of time to get to her.

leomama81 · 28/10/2019 17:54

Thank you @smartcarnotsosmartdriver, that is reassuring!

Do you know when your ELCS will be yet, if you go that route?

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 28/10/2019 18:11

@leomama81 everything seems to be a bit last minute. I have another scan at 37+2, midwife appointment at 38+1 and they'd give me my date at 39 however I know it's likely to be on it around my due date which is the 27th. Either way it's all systems go if I go into labour as I tested positive for group b strep so if I have a vaginal delivery I need to be in for antibiotics.

Unsureursula · 29/10/2019 05:06

Morning all! Woke after 12.30am and was quite wet- turned out waters had gone! Verb in the hospital since approx 2am and waiting for CS- had a feeling baby wouldn’t wait! 38+6 and was due to have CS tomorrow! Ps baby 1 and couldn’t believe how much water there was!!!

Montgomerystubercles · 29/10/2019 07:34

Good luck @Unsureursula - hope you have had your baby by now and are enjoying squishy cuddles!

Thank you everyone, he was 7lbs 11oz in the end so not the tiny thing that was expected, glad I put some newborn clothes in as well as tiny baby! And 39+1. Heading back to the hospital shortly for newborn checks, seems really strange how quickly it all happened, DD was in the NICU for 11days after birth, and I was in for 6 days before that so in and out in 13 hours just feels odd! But very good.

Weathergirl1 · 29/10/2019 11:42

Ah good luck @Unsureursula hope everything has gone well and you're out the other side by now!

Hayesdays · 29/10/2019 13:26

anyone else feel like an excited Aunty reading/waiting for these baby announcements?!

LKH27 · 29/10/2019 14:51

My c section just got moved forwards, so I'm now having my baby in 2 days (Halloween) rather than 6 days (4th).

leomama81 · 29/10/2019 20:24

Good luck @Unsureursula! That's exciting @LKH27, how are you feeling?

Still just under four weeks to go for me but I'm not sure he's going to stay put, I've had lots of crampy pains today and also low shooting pains in my bum/groin, different from lightning crotch. Came close to calling the hospital but they died down a bit. Have a midwife appointment and another scan tomorrow so will be good to see what is happening.

And one more day at work - Thurs - I absolutely cannot wait to finish!

LKH27 · 29/10/2019 20:33

@leomama81 I've cried quite a lot today. I'm having an elective c section due to anxiety so while I'm excited to meet the baby, it's being overpowered by my fear of the operation.
I know I'll be in the best place and will get to see my baby afterwards, but unfortunately its one of those things that I can't think about until the operation is over and done with. I feel so annoyed at how much the anxiety is taking over. Trying to keep busy but waves of anxiety creep over me now and again and it all gets a bit much. Crying helps but it's annoying haha
