Tentatively starting a thread for those due in March 2020! I got my BFP yesterday and EDD is 3rd March next year. I got my BFP really early so nervously waiting for the days to go by until I feel a bit more ‘pregnant’. This is number 2 for me. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Hey everyone, sorry I’ve been silent on here, I’ve been reading every single post. Hurrah for any new joiners and sorry to anyone going through any troubles and I hope you’re okay.

I’ve got a bit of a query and sorry if it’s TMI but having seen a few others bring up spotting I wanted to know what’s normal?! I’ve been spotting free up until yesterday which was my 7 week mark (first time pregnant) and discovered a light red spot just smaller than a 5 pence piece. No other abnormal symptoms but then today I got a slightly larger (but still minimal) more reddish brown spotting. No idea what’s happening, my doctor is rubbish and I can’t get through to the EPU they asked me to call. Should I book an early scan ASAP and just figure it out myself? My booking in appt isn’t until 29 July. Is everyone experiencing a bit of spotting or is this something that’s less common?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice, panicking here! Confused

Hi! Hope everyone's doing well. I've tested positive with a due date of 17th March. Will be my second baby.

Probably TMI but I feel like I'm constantly letting out one continuous, slow fart throughout the day like a slowly deflating balloon. It's gross, and I definitely didn't feel like this last time. Is it just me?!

Pikachu1 · 17/07/2019 17:39

@MissMittens
I can't claim to be an expert and don't know if this helps (I'm sure there are people on here with a lot more experience than me as this is only my second pregnancy and will be my first child - the first one sadly ended in miscarriage) have definitely heard many people say they've had spotting, both on here and friends / friends of friends. Usually around this sort of time, 6 - 8 ish weeks.

My personal experience so far this time has been spotting after sex, when I googled this it said it would pass quite quickly (a few hours or so) but mine lasted just over two days and was brown in colour (though I'm told a bit of red can be totally normal too). I was scanned on Monday and baby is totally fine and we could see the heartbeat. I shall be avoiding the deed for a while after that scare though!!

When I miscarried last time, I had a considerable amount of brown when I wiped on the Friday evening, by Sunday I had terrible period type pain, much much worse than usual period pain. So unless the spotting is followed by lots and lots of bad pain I would try not to worry.

Personally, I would try the epau again until you do get through. If you continue to have no luck and can afford it, perhaps consider a private scan just to put your mind at rest. But as I said, in my limited experience, unless spotting is followed by extreme period pain and gets to the amount of a period I would try not to worry (though I totally understand this is easier said than done!)

@AnxiousandExcited aww totally get it ! The good thing about on here is... we are terrified and looking out for the tiniest sign of something wrong. It's such a shame!! I would just go with it with the mental health team. If they help you then that's great! It can't do any harm to see what they are able to do! :) xxxx

ciaraldx · 17/07/2019 18:05

Hi! im due march 2020 currently around 5 weeks, this is my 6th child, 4 living. I lost my son at 15 weeks pregnant last Oct so Im terrified this time around! and obviously have no one to talk to about it for support etc as im not telling anyone until after 20 weeks! my husband is amazing but theres quite a lot he doesn't have a clue about with pregnancy (we are currently arguing over why midwives add 2 weeks on lol) plus it would be nice to chat to other women about it!

barnyb · 17/07/2019 18:06

@goldeline hahahah omg that has been me today!! Sooooo bloated I could burst !!!!!!

Jesskir89 · 17/07/2019 18:34

@ciaraldx I had a similar experience 10 years ago I was 16 weeks so I'm also terrified as it's my first pregnancy since. I think we all will be for the first few weeks but just need to try and relax and think positive :)

ciaraldx · 17/07/2019 18:44

@jesskir89 oh no its the worst pain ive ever felt! did you find out what happened to ur wee one? my placenta came away so now im terrified to move at all!

goldeline · 17/07/2019 18:53

@barnyb phew! I reckon I look about 8 months pregnant today. Feeling very self conscious at work.

Jesskir89 · 17/07/2019 18:57

@ciaraldx sorry to hear that. I had amniotic band syndrome which is quite rare and caused some organs to grow on the outside of the baby and he sadly didn't make it x

barnyb · 17/07/2019 18:59

@goldeline yes me too! I'm so worried everyone can see the bloat

ciaraldx · 17/07/2019 19:07

@jesskirk89 that's terrible! how far on are you now? I get my early scan on the 22nd, really anxious about it!

barnyb · 17/07/2019 19:54

@ciaraldx hello! Hope your feeling ok! That's really sad about your son. I'm sorry to hear this. I hope this time round it's lovely news for you. I'm also going to wait until I'm around 18 weeks to tell my other family and friends. Iv only told immediate family and my bosses so far xxxxx

ciaraldx · 17/07/2019 20:10

@barnyb it's terrifying, keep thinking somethings wrong etc, my mum is the only one in my family that knows, won't even tell my bro or dad 🙈 🤞🏻 bumps OK eay

Jesskir89 · 17/07/2019 22:59

@ciaraldx it was awful. Whay happened with yours? And I'm only 4 weeks 4 days atm I'm having a scan at 7 weeks but it's not booked yet x

barnyb · 18/07/2019 08:41

@ciaraldx I haven't told my dad and none of my siblings either xxxx

MunchyMunchkin · 18/07/2019 08:50

Had my scan just now. Measuring 6+4 and fetal heart seen. Delighted!

MockingJay27 · 18/07/2019 08:56

@MunchyMunchkin that's great news

MissMittens · 18/07/2019 14:23

@Pikachu1 thank you for your reassuring words!

I took the plunge and went for a private early scan today. Despite thinking I was 7+2 according to dates the sonographer did an ultrasound and then a trans vag. Said it was more like 5 and a bit weeks according to measurements and she could see it was in the right place and she could see a gestational sac and yolk but no embryo or baby’s heart beat (yet). She did say that it could be too early and I was to contact my GP or EPU and get another scan in 10 days time to assess viability. Now I’m just worried that it’s an embryonic Confused Trying not to stress but it’s easier said than done. Anyone else experienced this early on?

MunchyMunchkin · 18/07/2019 15:46

@MissMittens are you certain on your dates? Any chance you could have ovulated late?

MissMittens · 18/07/2019 16:07

@MunchyMunchkin Im not certain when I ovulated, I used an app to track dates and it gave me an estimate. The dates I do know for certain are start date of LMP 28 May, it lasted 7 days ish. The app said that my cycles, based on about 6 months worth of tracking, were about 34 days on average (!!). We tried unprotected on 10, 12, 16, 21, 22, 23 and 24 June. I took 3 pregnancy tests on Sunday 7 July and all 3 were positive. Then I took a further 2 tests on Monday 15 July and again these were both positive. So not sure if it’s just too early (periods very unreliable usually) or if something may just not have developed.

Jampot36 · 18/07/2019 16:27

Hi all, hope everyone is ok.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed their abdomen is swollen? I dont feel bloated, its looks normal in the morning but by mid afternoon i look like i have a baby bump (which at 4 weeks i know i dont) Im getting the crampy twinges which i know from other posts are normal but my clothes are too tight by mid afternoon and i keep having to unbutton my trousers in secret... is this was similar to anyone else?

Kam610 · 18/07/2019 16:41

jampot - i am exactly the same. Don't really feel that bloated but by the end of the day I have a proper little belly and have to wear comfy bottoms. I'm only 4+5 So I know it's definitely not a bump, just bloating. Apparently normal with the rise of progesterone hormones

Pikachu1 · 18/07/2019 17:01

@MissMittens
It sounds to me like your longer cycles could be to blame for dates being different as 34 days is just under 5 weeks so an extra week per cycle, meaning apps and calculations would put you at 7 ish weeks when in reality you're 5 ish weeks. Try not to worry! Easier said than done I know! Have you had any more spotting?

lookwhostaking · 18/07/2019 17:07

Hi there, I’m late to the party 🎉 just found this thread and thought I’d say hi. I’m 34 pregnant with #2 I’m 6+ 3 days. My EDD is 9th March. I had a mc in April so like some of you guys I’m worried about everything!! I had really bad cramps and back ache last week and I thought I was having another mc but it went after a day or so.
Symptoms I have now is: waves of feeling queasy (getting more frequent), tiredness like u wouldn’t believe (although I’m preaching to the converted here!) and my breasts are achy and tender (although this fluctuates which scares me!)
I would like to go for a private early scan but can’t justify the money at the moment but if I get worried again I think I’ll just book one for my own piece of mind
