Hi everyone, how's everything feeling 36 weeks?

Kicks are bizarre right the way round my side but also getting low pains so hoping he is still head down.
Trapped wind pains I think round front and back
I think I'm also getting Braxton hicks but low down tightening rather than whole stomach
Dodgy tummy
Feeling so emotional with surge of hormones and wanting to cry at everything
Feeling also a bit manic with some small bursts of cleaning before just lying on sofa
Feeling generally bit more panicky about the whole baby going to be hear soon not to mention the birth!

Does this all sound normal?!

Hope the monitoring went well @Bjones123 - I'm sure if you fight your case they can't force you to give birth in the labour ward, especially if you voice your concerns. Is the mlu attached to a hospital for quick transfer if needed? But as @curiositycreature said people only tend to tell you the horror stories, so try not to google too much.

I'm good @pancakes22 - feel completely normal apart from starting to get some breathlessness. Noticed it in the bath last night and feeling it now - not sure if baby's moved into a different position (although I doubt it as been 3/5 engaged for a few weeks) or whether it's just my uterus pushing up against my diaphragm. Tired as well - woke up at 6:30 and came back to bed for a nap at 9:30!
What about you?

Bjones123 · 21/06/2019 13:03

@Capybaras @curiositycreature I ended up going last night for reassurance and found out I'd started having contractions and was 1cm dilated so the doctor felt it was best to do a pessary induction so I've been on the unit overnight (only got 1 hour sleep so suffering now!). Hoping the pessary works and things start kicking off soon

pancakes22 · 21/06/2019 13:58

Hi all, reflexology was lovely thank you but no signs really. I keep getting twinges and dull period pains but it's not amounting to anything. I do keep waking up with awful ligament pains which feel more painful than ever but as soon as I get up and move around it goes again. Feeling truly exhausted and had a cry this morning waking up this morning just so hormonal and fed up. Luckily my mum lives nearby so she has been on child entertainment duty while I lie and feel sorry for myself! Please hurry up baby, I can't do another 3 weeks like this!

@Bjones123 good luck with the induction! How are you feeling?

Just out of curiosity, when you say they found out you were having contractions had you not felt them yourself? Or had you just thought they were niggly pains etc? Just wondering what it felt like xx

pancakes same with the cramps and pains and twinges! And it’s all getting stronger. Don’t know what to think. (Well I do, I know I shouldn’t be overthinking and it’ll happen eventually!) I hope the hormonal fed up feeling passes soon. Will all be worth it soon. Was your first one on time?

Exciting news @Bjones123 will be thinking of you! Am glad you’ll have her here soon. I echo pancakes question if you have time to answer

curiositycreature · 21/06/2019 14:47

Capy did to manage to get any more sleep? Really no idea what breathlessness could mean Confused

Bjones123 · 21/06/2019 15:16

@pancakes22 @curiositycreature I thought I might be having BH at home as I felt like a tightening in my abdomen but not really any pains

Capybaras · 21/06/2019 19:44

Oh wow - hope everything's going well @Bjones123 must be such a relief to get things moving!

I think I'm going to book some reflexology for next week as it sounds great! Especially if it can get things moving too!

Yeah the breathlessness is odd - it's when I'm lying down (both on back in bath and on side) but feeling fine otherwise! Nap was interrupted by the dog barking at a parcel delivery. Had a nice lunch with a friend though and went down the beach to soak up some sun, so a good day!

Capybaras · 21/06/2019 20:50

Just lost a bit of my mucous plug! Wasn't bloody so assume it doesn't mean anything yet, but first real sign of something happening!

curiositycreature · 21/06/2019 21:03

Sounds promising Capy.... you’re 37 weeks now? Keep us posted!

(Most of my naps seem to end by the dog barking at something!)

Capybaras · 21/06/2019 21:31

37+3! I lost some of it quite early on (28w) but hoping this means something.

pancakes22 · 21/06/2019 22:14

@Capybaras breathlessness can mean low iron? Just in case you are due your bloods soon? Yay for plug how exciting!!

OP posts:
Capybaras · 21/06/2019 23:19

I've been on iron since my 28 week bloods. Don't have bloods done again as far as I'm aware. Not seeing midwife for another 2 weeks but if it continues I'll call her up! May explain the tiredness too!

pancakes22 · 22/06/2019 07:41

Well I thought it was it last night. Woke up to what I thought was a contraction and I was even lying in bed smiling thinking oh my god it's actually going to happen. Then ended up just having diarrhoea and going back to bed and nothing since!! Typical! Really need to stop getting excited about poo cramps! Confused

OP posts:
pancakes22 · 22/06/2019 07:41

@Bjones123 hope the induction is okay. Thinking of you!

OP posts:
Capybaras · 22/06/2019 08:28

It's hard to tell what's a poo cramp and what's a period style cramp! Although diarrhoea is a potential sign of labour so maybe something is happening!

Yes hope all is well @Bjones123 update us when you can.

Anyone got any nice weekend plans?

Bjones123 · 22/06/2019 16:51

Hi all, well after 36hours of strong regular and then hyperstimulated contractions, they felt it was best to do a c-section as they weren't happy with her variables. I proudly managed it all (up until the section of course) without any pain relief and just using breathing techniques. She has a bad tongue tie so we can't establish breastfeeding at this time. Lots of unexpected things but she is here and healthy which is the main thing so hopefully things will get better soon!

I hope everyone's births go well Grin

pancakes22 · 22/06/2019 17:07

Wow Congratulations @Bjones123. Well done you, it sounds like you did an amazing job. My DD had a tongue tie too and it really helped having it cut and some additional bf support, good luck with it all and hope it gets easier soon for you. Enjoy your little one and congratulations again!!

curiositycreature · 22/06/2019 18:06

Congratulations @Bjones123 such fantastic news! Glad she arrived safely. ❤️

Also thought mine was coming last night pancakes.... had about four long and painful contractions between 11 and 2.30 and then woke up again at 7am with no sign of anything! But your pooh cramps are are good sign.

Did your plug mean anything Capy?

Capybaras · 22/06/2019 19:32

Congratulations @Bjones123 so happy for you! Hope you're recovering well.

Nope absolutely nothing happening!

Kelis22 · 22/06/2019 22:15

Congratulations @Bjones123 Hope you make a quick recovery!

Kelis22 · 22/06/2019 22:40

How are you all feeling about your upcoming labour?

It's all's I think about everyday now and I am starting to feel sick with nerves! I think I have just been reading to many horror stories 🙈

I have to go back the hospital Monday to be monitored and possible birth plan as can't feel her moving half as much, but I think it is just because of the Braxton Hicks, my stomach is rock hard all time!

Lauren83 · 23/06/2019 07:54

Huge congrats @Bjones123 ThanksThanksThanks Hope the recovery goes well.

I'm in at 7am tomorrow for my section, been told I'm on the morning list but not sure what time. Hope everyone's doing ok

pancakes22 · 23/06/2019 08:03

@Kelis22 honestly...? terrified. It's all I have worried about since finding out I was pregnant! Didn't enjoy first time round and have really battled with the decision of VBAC vs induction vs section for a long time. I almost find myself wishing there would be a reason why I would have to choose a certain route just so I don't have to make the decision as I constantly worry if I'm making the wrong one! Bizarre though that even though I'm really scared about it, I still just want it to come and be over and done with!
