Hey lovelies!
I'm currently 9+2 weeks and looking for anyone who is at a similar stage as me! I'm constantly looking on these threads just for someone who can share this journey with me, it gets kind of lonely without a pregnancy friend!
I have my booking in appointment on 24th and my 12 (although I'll be 13 weeks) scan on 7th June... which seems such a long way away!
Anyway please feel free to say hi 👋🏽

That’s lovely! Sounds like the perfect decision to find out. Congrats on your little boy 💙

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/07/2019 07:28

@xoxhayleyxox
Congratulations on your boy!! That’s so exciting for you!! And you have the name chosen already :)! Let us know how the reveal goes :)!!
How are you feeling?
How is everyone feeling? @AryaNoOne sorry to hear your morning sickness has come back :(!
I have still had no signs that i’m Pregnant other than getting fat, although i’m getting a lot more dizzy spells. I have low-ish blood pressure so am used to them, but they are definitely more frequent now.

Questions for everyone -

  1. Have you started buying anything yet? I didn’t want to start buying anything until we knew everything was okay, I now feel really behind that we have nothing!
  2. Has anyone booked onto any antenatal classes? I don’t know what to do about them. I wanted to speak to the midwife at my 16week appt, but i’m 16weeks this week but away on holiday, then the midwife is away the following week, so i’ll be 18+ weeks when I see her... 🤔

Hope everyone is well!!

Dreamsunshine · 08/07/2019 08:20

@TTc2019BabyNo1 you always make me feel better lol i also still don't feel any different and I just look chubbier. I'm 18.4 weeks and havnt bought anything, waiting until after the scan, it's on the 19th. I havnt booked any classes yet, my book says theres classes in September for me if I want to go.

@xoxhayleyxox
Congratulations on your wee boy. I'm sure you're so excited for the gender reveal.

AryaNoOne · 08/07/2019 08:43

I haven’t bought anything yet (don’t want to until after the scan) but am doing some research and making a list so I feel like I am making a bit of progress without actually buying stuff if that makes sense! I have booked into antenatal classes though, we want to do the bump and baby ones rather than NCT and they seem to book up quite well in advance so I thought I would grab the place once I knew which dates we’d need. Smile

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/07/2019 15:21

@Dreamsunshine glad i’m making you feel better 😃! Hopefully we can keep having stress-free pregnancies but I have a funny feeling we’ll get something later!

@AryaNoOne well done on your list, I need to start that. The annoying thing is we’re in the middle of trying to move. We have buyers but nowhere to buy, so we’re not sure where we’re going to be and I didn’t want a load of stuff sitting around, but I guess i’m Going to need to sort it soon!!
Can I ask what bump and baby classes are? And how they differ from NCT?

I’ve done a bit of research and my local hospital nhs classes don’t seem to cover much, but the local NCT ones cost a fortune. What is everyone thinking - NHS or private for antenatal classes?
(I’m not criticising the NHS btw, to be honest i’ve luckily never really had to rely on the NHS before - one of those people that has never been to hospital and very rarely the GP - and I’ve been very impressed with what we get for free since being pregnant! I’m finally utilising all those NI contributions i’ve made over the years and am very grateful)

AryaNoOne · 08/07/2019 16:07

Bump and Baby is basically just an alternative private provider - think they are just in London so far though. They have quite a similar syllabus and price to NCT but they aim to be more relaxed and less prescriptive about the “best” birth and feeding options, and they cover baby first aid as standard which I’m not sure NCT do in all their courses. Plus the times and locations worked better for me than NCT in my local area so I wanted to go with them. I know private is expensive - especially when NHS ones are available for free - but they cover so much more and also have more of a social / support structure built in so we’ve decided to go for that. What are the rest of you thinking so far?

LHMB · 08/07/2019 19:29

I'm 16 weeks now and a bit concerned that I haven't felt any movement yet

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/07/2019 20:23

@LHMB I wouldn’t worry too much the NHS says between 16 and 24 weeks and if it’s your first it’ll be the later end. I haven’t felt a thing either, but then I don’t know when i’m feeling out for if that makes sense! Try not to worry, maybe mention it at your 16 week midwife appointment.

LHMB · 09/07/2019 08:27

TTc2019BabyNo1 thank you. I actually felt some flutters and twitching last night which I'm fairly sure were the baby. I have my midwife appointment tomorrow

AryaNoOne · 18/07/2019 09:27

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?

I had my 16 week midwife appt yesterday, it wasn’t really what I was expecting as lots of it was a group session with other mums to be where they gave us info all together, then 121 follow ups. But I actually thought it was quite sensible to stop them having to repeat everything to all of us.

Dreamsunshine · 18/07/2019 15:25

@AryaNoOne that's different but I guess it does save them repeating all the same info.

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow. Excited and nervous. My movements have got a bit stronger and more frequent which is exciting.

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 19/07/2019 09:08

@AryaNoOne that’s a good way of doing it I suppose! I still haven’t had my 16 wk appt, it’s going to be 2 weeks late because I was away and then the midwife was away! Anything I need to know?

@Dreamsunshine how did the scan go? Do you know what you’re having? Mine feels like ages away not until 9th August!
I haven’t felt anything still, what does it actually feel like?

Hope everyone is well?

AryaNoOne · 19/07/2019 09:48

Oh that’s exciting @Dreamsunshine - hope you enjoy seeing your little one again. My scan isn’t until 12 August - almost 22 weeks! It seems forever to wait.

TTc (can’t tag you for some reason Smile), not much really, quite a lot of it I felt repeated booking appt info in a bit more detail. There was a leaflet on monitoring baby movements which was very helpful, though for a bit later I think. Then refresh on foods, vaccinations, benefits and maternity exemptions, how they track growth, and a bit on morning sickness and SPD.

Dreamsunshine · 19/07/2019 16:38

Hi Ladies. Scan was brilliant although baby wasn't playing ball lol after half an hour she had done most of her checks and everything was perfect. There was 2 more pictures she needed but baby wouldn't turn round. I was sent for a drink and a walk to come back 15 minutes later but of course when we tried again baby wouldn't stop moving lol so back again in 2 weeks for another scan. But at least I get to see baby again. There was such a difference!! We didn't find out the gender, we want the surprise.

@TTc2019BabyNo1 my movements started off as really light bubbles that's the only way I can describe it but i only felt them late in the evening and not every night. Now this past weeks they are getting much stronger and more frequent and there's no other way to describe it other than the baby moving around inside lol

Everafter1 · 19/07/2019 17:23

Hi can I join? I was going to go past this thread when I seen the heading but as it was started a while ago, it turns out I'm due around the same time as OP
Have my 20 week scan next week, a little nervous.
I've bought most things...couldn't help myself lol & not booked any classes yet.

AryaNoOne · 19/07/2019 18:40

@Dreamsunshine that sounds so exciting - congratulations Smile

AryaNoOne · 19/07/2019 18:41

Hi @Everafter1 and yes of course, more the merrier. What’s your due date? Mine is December 19th and this is my first.

Everafter1 · 20/07/2019 00:02

@AryaNoOne this is my first too! My due date is 11th December

Dreamsunshine · 29/07/2019 15:48

HI ladies, just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing?x

LHMB · 29/07/2019 16:00

I have my 20 week scan on Wednesday, although I'm not 20 weeks until Sunday. Feeling excited but also nervous. Have gained about half a stone this pregnancy so feeling low about that, which I know is probably ridiculous x

Dreamsunshine · 29/07/2019 16:45

@LHMB dont feel low its all for the baby. Ive stayed away from the scales. I hope your scan goes well. I have my second 20 weeks scan on Thursday because baby was in an awkward position the last day but it's such a relief after you've been. Have you been having much movement? My sleeping hasn't been great I've been up from very early wide awake!

LHMB · 29/07/2019 18:37

Dreamsunshine thank you, I hope your scan goes well too. I've been feeling increased movement, some days more than others, how about you? I've found it hard to sleep as well, waking early and aching all over

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 30/07/2019 06:21

Good luck for your scans ladies! I’m a little behind, mine is 9th August. I have still not felt movement (or I don’t think so).
@LHMB sorry you’re feeling low, i’ve also put on a load of weight and still just look fat rather than pregnant :(.
I’m also really tired and now my joint are starting to ache, I thought the second trimester was meant to be best?! 😂

Hope everyone is well!

LHMB · 30/07/2019 09:28

Thank you TTc2019BabyNo1, I'm sure you'll feel movement soon, the midwife told me it can be anywhere between 16 and 24 weeks.
Oh I know what you mean, it depends on what I wear, in some things you can see I'm pregnant now but in others I just look like I've got fat!
I thought that too, some days I feel awful and I think why do I keep reading it gets better in the second trimester as I still feel terrible

Dreamsunshine · 30/07/2019 18:36

TTc2019BabyNo1 hopefully the 9th comes quick for you. I really didn't know if I was feeling movement at the start but I know now it was, so you probably are lol my movements have got much stronger, I'm 22 weeks tomorrow. My other half felt baby kick last night for the first time! It was so exciting for him. I'm the same depending on what im wearing I either just look chubby or the bump looks real lol
