Hi ladies,
Excited to say that today I got my BFP and am due 1st January 2020!
This will be my third baby but my partners first. I have two children aged 9 & 7 from a previous relationship.
Anyone else due around New Year? Sticky beans to all! 😀💗💙

Hi everyone. Blimey I have had a busy weekend and it's fully taken it's toll today. First time I've needed to have a nap to get through the day and I am SO emotional.

We go on holiday in the early hours so we've just dropped our dog at our friends. I cried when we left him. Normally I can't get away fast enough for a week without dog walks but every time my husband mentions him I tear up. I hope I'm not like this the whole holiday!

We told my in laws yesterday which made everything quite real and somehow added an element of pressure!?

Congrats @Herewegoagain19 on your scan. Looks incredible, you must be so pleased.

Also welcome to all the newbies. Hope you're all doing okay!

Maybenextmonth · 06/05/2019 20:16

Oh, and the lightheadedness and sort of 'brain freeze' type headache pulses when it happens. Confused

Herewegoagain19 · 06/05/2019 20:29

@sleepstandingup I feel very nervous but blessed.DHis very quiet, yesterday (bar the fantastic news) was prob the worst day of my life,DH was upset,I was upset,my mam had a lovely chat with me about how everything will work out how it's supposed to and we will managethen tried passing the positivity to DH and no joy.Today has been ok,no tears, just being normal for the other 2 kids. They will be sooo excited toxins out in pregnant never mind twins! They are fascinated by pregnancy and babies!

@daisy oooohhhh could it be twins with such a high level?I'd no bloods done yeaterday so I've no idea what levels should be!

@maybenextmonth enjoy your hols x

@dotty call tour GP for an appointment and they will talent from there

Have just gotten my BFP. Delighted about it. I was 40 in December so thought we would be trying for ages. Got PG first month on my previous 2 pregnancies and this one has taken only 3 months. Edd by dates is 13th Jan but clear blue said 2-3 weeks when I should have been 1-2 weeks and previous pregnancies have all had date brought forward by about 6 dates so sometime early Jan.

Dating at 4 weeks today so a while to go til 12 scan but excited to join everyone in the journey and congrats on your BFP's it's so exciting.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/05/2019 00:59

I never had morning sickness with DS. This feels the wring time of day to be puking.... I'm hoping it's a good sign

Kinsters · 07/05/2019 02:12

Herewegoagain19 sorry that your DH isn't totally on board, that must be tough. How old are your other two? I'm a twin and it's a very special relationship. I guess it's too early at this stage for them to tell whether they're identical or not?

I'm a bit nauseous but haven't actually been sick. Same as my previous pregnancy which ended in MMC, hopefully this one works out better! My mum was never sick in her pregnancies either (including when she was pregnant with me and my twin sister) so maybe it's genetic.

Herewegoagain19 · 07/05/2019 03:17

@sleeoingstandinguo ..ooh no waking at night to be sick?Hope your ok

@maybenextmonth Geoff to the airport now?lucky you!DH needs some time,a termination is never something I would consider as a form of contraception, I would never live with myself. We had s teeny bit of progress tonight with a comment he made! I donunderstamd how scared he is and I'm worried to but I'm obvs alot more maternal and I know in the early days all my rfamily will rally around to help out, they did the last 2 times;my mam, couple aunties all took a day each to come visit for the first 2wks DH went back to work and I'd be sent to bed while they watched baby, made dinner,i was on such a high I'd be giving out that I wanted to stay up and have a visit with them and is be told "Just go rest for 30min" then I'd be fast asleep for couple hrs! Timing wise the kids will be off for 2wks on Christmas hols so there will be no school runs or anything (that's going by twin delivery at 37wks).
Kids are 6 and 10.

I'm so over this pregnancy insomnia...it's only been 1wk!Once I wake that's it....tonight I went to bed at 10 and was asleep about 10.45,woke for a pee at 12 and I'm still awake!

Maybenextmonth · 07/05/2019 05:55

@Herewegoagain19 yep waiting to take off as we speak. I'm really pleased we had this booked. It's a nice distraction to while away a week or so of the beginning weeks that drag.

Really sorry it's a bit tough for you with everything. I hope your husband will come round to it sooner rather than later. I am not getting too much insomnia. I'm waking a lot but am lucky enough to get back to sleep. Although getting up at 2am today was tough!

primarywoodle · 07/05/2019 07:42

kinsters ive had 2 pregnancies, one for my dd (3) and prior to her my angel dd, i only had nausea with both and not feeling sick at all yet so it doesnt mean anything. In some ways id rather be chucking my guts up as feel it would reassure me though!

Gonna ring the docs and inform about pregnancy next friday and hopefully get a dating scan - theoretically i could be closer to 10 weeks based on lmp but i think im 5 so fingers crossed ill see a heartbeat if all goes well.

Chantalle3 · 07/05/2019 08:00

Congrats new BFPs!

I feel for you @sleepingstandingup "Morning sickness" became a very real thing for me today at 5+2. Some of the familiar items that had me retching over the sink this morning: my dog (poor thing, I just felt like he smelt), my OH extra strong wee in the bathroom and the thought of a cup of tea (normally can't go live without tea).

@herewegoagain19 hope things perk up for you soon and you get to be 100% excited!

Herewegoagain19 · 07/05/2019 08:19

What folic acid/vitamins are you all taking?I am on Pregnacare Plus (I think) it's 400mg of folic acid plus an omega 3 tablet.Midwife prescribed 500mg of folic acid now that it's expected twins so have to go to my chemist after work for them!

No sickness here yet thankfully, ehenninwake during the night my boobs are a little sore but nothing too bad.

How are you all with appetite?I find I'm only eating breakfast or lunch and dinner, not even picking at junk either which is good.

Chantalle3 · 07/05/2019 08:44

I'm taking the pregnacare plus too, they're a bit cheaper on Amazon than in the shops.

I find I switch, I'm either ravenous and want to eat everything and anything or I don't want to eat a thing. Seems to change each day. Although mornings and waking in the night I always seem to be really hungry.

McHelenz · 07/05/2019 08:51

I'm taking the boots own with added vit D.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/05/2019 09:03

Taking same as McHelenz

ooh no waking at night to be sick? I hadn't even got to sleep lol.

Hot cheese on toast, favorite of the 4 yo, makes me want to vomit. And the sight of my husbands cold buttered toast. And heat. I was always cold with DS pregnancy

McHelenz · 07/05/2019 09:15

I've just been coughing and thought I could taste blood. Looks like the metallic taste is here 😂

Herewegoagain19 · 07/05/2019 09:17

@sleepingstandingup funny you mentioned about being cold...everyday I've complained of the cold, yesterday evening i lit the fire coz I was so cold, then at times I'm roasting but definately more cold than usually even with the milder weather.

On my 1st icouldn't stand the smell of food ,I worked in a big office and come about 11 say someone was having a cup of soup I'd have to get up and leave the office until they finished. I suffered a fair bit of back pain.
On my 2nd Sour Cream and Onion pringles got me and my brother loves them, one day he was visiting and I'd to leave him downstairs and I couldn't go back down for about 30mins of the windows being open and the smell! And such a random thing I couldn't hold anything in my mouth or I would gag...y'know say you hold your purse or a bag of crisps coz your hands are full...I literally couldn't...it lasted after the pregnancy too.Id a touch or carpal tunnel syndrome too and still don't have as much power in 1 hand.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/05/2019 09:23

Gosh, I hope DC2 is extra nice to make up for it lol

primarywoodle · 07/05/2019 11:54

herrwego

Arghh youve just reminded me of the carpal tunnel. It was awful. I remember desperately tring to get to the end of each row before having a 5 minute break when knitting dd's cardigan lol!

Disappeared immediately after birth though

SleepingStandingUp · 07/05/2019 14:35

Anyone booking an early scan?
I keep getting pains in my lower abdo, I don't think I can wait another 8 weeks!!

Herewegoagain19 · 07/05/2019 14:51

I've one booked privately for 8.5wks

Kinsters · 07/05/2019 15:25

I'm still taking the pregnacare pre-conception cause I bought a whole load of it. I'm also carrying on taking co-enzyme q10 cause I don't think it would hurt.

That's good to hear no everyone is sick.

I'm more sensitive to smells definitely. One of my colleagues has awful breath 😫

I'm going to stop doing pregnancy tests now! Did one final FRER and got a beautiful dye stealer, the control line is a real squinter!!

SleepingStandingUp I've got one booked for 7+1 (although I may be a few days earlier). I've been having pain as well, weirdly it's mostly at the very top of my left thigh, kind of the bit where it joins my bikini line. I'm trying not to worry too much cause it's my leg but any one sided pain and I do freak out a bit about it being ectopic.

Missmonkeypenny · 07/05/2019 15:42

kinsters weird you should say that, I also have a crampy pain in the top of my leg!

I have a scan booked at 7 weeks exactly through the fertility clinic Smile. I got my HCG level back today, a whopping 5890!

ducksandacorns · 07/05/2019 15:56

@Kinsters @Missmonkeypenny another achey leg/left side groin pain here too!

We will be having a scan at 7+1 all being well...

SleepingStandingUp · 07/05/2019 16:05

So I can book in a few weeks, I'll be 7 weeks by lmp and 6 weeks by when I know I ovulated. Don't want to do 6 weeks lmp as I ovulated in day 21 which seems late from what I've read. DH thinks I'm crazy but I know enough to know it isn't a guarantee even with my feeling like this

ducksandacorns · 07/05/2019 16:15

@SleepingStandingUp I'm waiting until just over 7 weeks by LMP (but further along if go by ovulation date) as likely to see heart beat at that date. Any earlier and they can possibly only confirm pregnancy location and that there is a sac etc
