12 weeks today and finally have my nuchal scan and NIPT results tomorrow evening...bit nervous but hoping everything is ok so we can finally tell people!

I'm very bloated still, definitely no bump yet! Also extremely tired still and really hoping that will let up soon as I'm getting nothing done. Nausea is finally getting better though and as long as I eat little and often that really helps.

Anyone got a scan this week?

secretlyhermione · 15/04/2019 16:23

@givememarmite good luck with your scan! I had mine two weeks ago and it's really amazing to see the little bebe wriggling around :)
I have more "bloat" than bump, but have heard from most that at one point it just pops out! Very much looking forward to Easter now so we can finally do the big reveal to our parents :)

givememarmite · 15/04/2019 16:34

Thank you! It's DD2's third birthday on Friday and we will have my in-laws over, siblings and wives/partners too, so might just tell them all then if I can hold out a few more days!

Dyra · 15/04/2019 21:05

I just feel (and am) fat. No obvious bump. It hurts to sit down and get up again because my tailbone feels like it's about to snap in half. I'm exhausted all the time. And I can count on one hand the number of times I've slept the whole way through the night without needing to get up for a wee during the last 10 or so weeks.

I thought the start of the second trimester was supposed to be nice. Sad

But there was a handy ultrasound machine just lying around in theatre today so... Yeah.... Definitely still a baby in there. That punched me a few times, though I can't feel them yet.

Hello I'm new to this thread!
I'm 15 weeks and due on the 7th October with my first baby! So lovely to be able to hear about everyone's experiences with their pregnancy so far! Hope you're all doing well! I'm finding out the gender at the end of the month and very excited to become a new mummy 😆

HarryHarry · 16/04/2019 00:47

My bump has appeared overnight! I went from nothing to massive in just a few hours! It also really hurts, maybe from growing so quickly. I didn’t get any stretch marks last time but this time I think they are sadly inevitable. I still haven’t gained any weight though which is kind of worrying! I’m 15 weeks tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I’m new to this thread 14+4 today but having a bit of a rough ride so far. 2 previous MC and lots of bleeding this pregnancy which midwives keep putting down to hormonal bleeding (I’m not so sure with there being so much blood) but with my 1st pregnancy I’m unsure what’s normal and what’s not. Hoping it starts to feel real soon so I can get excited! I have a definite bump already and at numerous scans baby is happily moving around so hopefully bleeding will stop soon! Nuchal scan measurements couldn’t be done because baby was on their head so hopefully from here out will be much more straightforward Grin

YorkshireIndie · 16/04/2019 11:17

Has anyone brought anything? John Lewis were doing a bundle offer on the cybex car seat over the weekend. We were not planning on getting anything big but it was a good saving

Rememberallball · 16/04/2019 15:56

@YorkshireIndie, we’ve not bought anything yet but plan to look at travel systems when we go to The Baby Show next month. We’re in the process of buying a new car and going to look at some furniture tomorrow thanks to our letting agent who is grandmother to twins and has cot beds, Moses baskets, wooden toys and lots of clothes which she is offering us.

secretlyhermione · 16/04/2019 17:00

@YorkshireIndie not bought anything yet, but will have to look into maternity clothes soon as things are starting to feel tight-ish. I am not a huge shopper so hoping to just buy everything in one go. Will be flying abroad over Easter to see family and plan on doing most of the buying/planning with my sister.

HarryHarry · 16/04/2019 18:18

We sold our single pushchair and bought a double last week Smile

NMCB · 16/04/2019 19:21

Hi All, got my first scan tomorrow....super excited of course!

I know they'll do a blood test (bloody hate needles Confused) for Down syndrome. When should
I expect to get results?

Thanks x

newbabyyy2019 · 16/04/2019 19:40

@NMCB
Good luck with your scan. I was told I would get a phone call if the results weren't good and a letter if all was okay. I received my letter less than a week later. My 12 week scan took ages because they also have to get a perfect scan picture that shows babies neck, the picture also has to show the heart and brain and be clear (I was told by the woman scanning me) as there is fluid or something there in the neck that they have to send off to be measured as this can indicate possible Down syndrome depending on how wide the gap of the fluid is. My baby was wriggling around so much that I was scanned for 45 minutes to get the perfect picture to send off with my blood test for the down syndrome screening. As for the blood test, it was a straightforward quick blood test, nothing to worry about!

NMCB · 16/04/2019 20:03

@newbabyyy2019 thank you so much! I bet secretly you loved seeing your little baby wriggle for 45mins....I'm sooo excited!

givememarmite · 16/04/2019 21:11

Had my scan this evening and blood test results and all looks good! So relieved...we ended up telling our parents already on the phone, just so happy we had to share! All measurements still spot on so due date still 28th October.

Good luck tomorrow @NMCB !

Dyra · 16/04/2019 22:06

Lovely scan picture @givememarmite! Good luck for tomorrow @NMCB!

Also in the not brought anything yet club. But I'm also heading up to Birmingham next month for The Baby Show. Quite looking forward to looking at all the tiny things to buy. My poor wallet already trembles.

NMCB · 17/04/2019 06:36

@givememarmite oh such a good picture, Congratulations!

@Dyra thank you x

2018isanewyear · 17/04/2019 06:44

Good luck @NMCB it's an amazing feeling xxx

Nataliei · 17/04/2019 06:47

Hi everyone, I hope it’s okay to comment, I’m due on 24th October and I’m very excited I want to join this thread so I can share my excitement with other pregnant people 😊 I had my 1st scan yesterday and everything looks to be growing well, however they’ve spotted an amniotic band. Does anyone know much about this? I’m too scared to google it but it doesn’t sound too good 😰 xx

Flopdoodle · 17/04/2019 08:34

Hi all I due October 25th - 2nd baby, first doesn't know yet and we are waiting until after the scan (have already bought a sibling tshirt) to give them) but don't have my '12' week scan till April 30th! I have queried it but been told it's fine so fingers crossed.

GinMama1 · 17/04/2019 10:21

Lots of new people - welcome! We also have a facebook group if people would rather chat there.

HarryHarry what did you get?

Flopdoodle · 17/04/2019 10:49

Oh great, What is the Facebook group called please? @ginmama1

GinMama1 · 17/04/2019 10:56

Flopdoodle it's a private group but if you search for Christina Peak and send her a facebok message, she will add you. She has a military profile pic.

Secretlifeofme · 17/04/2019 12:13

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a while but came back to say that I had my 12 week scan today and everything looked good Smile I have had blood tests for chromosomal abnormalities (sorry not in UK so don't know what the correct term is) and I have to wait 2 weeks for the results but the nuchal transparency test looked normal apparently, so that's a good sign! Here's our little wriggler Grin
