@Saffy347 I'm so sorry she did that and that you have to leave the thread (understandable though of course). If all goes well at our scan on Tuesday I'll join the FB group then so hopefully see you there x

faelavie · 10/04/2019 19:21

@PositiveThinkingRainbow My Trisomy 21 came back 1 in 4921.
They're not worried unless it's 1 in 150 or under, so don't worry, you are low risk!

faelavie · 10/04/2019 19:22

@Saffy347 That's awful! I'm sorry you can't come on this forum anymore. I won't see you in the Facebook group (I'm cutting down social media usage) but I hope everything goes well for you.

Jenbot78 · 10/04/2019 19:24

Hello everyone, can I join? I've been following this thread for a while now but haven't posted. I'm due with my second DC on 10th October. Having a difficult time with my anxiety at the moment. Not helped by the fact that there has been some delay with my antenatal screening. I should have heard results nearly a week ago but still nothing. The midwife said that I will definitely come back as high risk as I'm 40. Not so sure about this statement, especially as I'm pregnant through a frozen embryo which was made by me nearly three years ago...

I had a difficult early pregnancy with several bleeds (thankfully this has stopped now...) and then major anxiety before the 12 week scan. Now anxiety over my test results. I feel like I get through one hurdle and then another one appears and I feel worried all over again...

Still feeling sick on and off and SO hungry all the time, like ridiculously hungry. When I was pregnant with my DD, I put on a fair bit of weight (lost it all again but it took nearly a year)and am trying to avoid doing so again, but it already feels like my weight is piling on. Whatever I eat doesn't seem to satisfy! Anyone else have this?

HarryPottersSecretSister · 10/04/2019 19:59

@Doop you can't search for the FB group as - for all of our privacy - it's a secret, private group 😉
If you search for Christina Peak (military profile pic) add her and then PM her telling her you're a Mumsnet October member she'll add you 😊

Sorry I'm behind here and haven't been posting much. I've pretty much deserted you all for the FB group!

Huge welcome to the newcomers xxxxx

Doop · 10/04/2019 20:09

@HarryPottersSecretSister thank you! All done x

princesstinnedpeach · 10/04/2019 20:42

I had my first scan today and the baby looked great. I couldn't believe how clear the picture was - I could see its facial features and toes and everything! Crazy for such a small thing. The baby is due 14th October so a day earlier than I had calculated. I'm so relieved that everything is okay and that all the feeling terrible is paying off. So glad I can be open about it too as I'm a terrible secret keeper!

HarryPottersSecretSister · 10/04/2019 21:42

Hey lovelies, Christina isn't on here anymore but asked if if message and asking any of you that wish to join the fb group to pm her after you add her to tell her your from here,
She's getting friends requests from strangers with no message and is conscious about adding someone to the group who isn't one of us (just to make sure everyone's privacy is protected)

Xxxxxxxxxx

stripytiger09 · 10/04/2019 23:25

Hello everyone! Nice to read so many lovely posts :)
Got my gender scan coming up soon, who's going find out what see their babies are?

Rememberallball · 11/04/2019 00:03

Hi @Stripytiger09, welcome to the group. Good luck for your upcoming scan. DH and i plan to find out what ‘flavour’ ours are as there are 2 of them and we’ve so much to plan in advance!!

Today we got an email from our letting agents who are grandparents to 8 year old boys offering us a pair of cot beds, a pair of Moses baskets and stands and loads of clothes. A couple less things to look for and some money saved which is fabulous when we have nothing to start with!!

GinMama1 · 11/04/2019 11:45

That's so nice of the agents Rememberallball!

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 11/04/2019 15:49

Hi Ladies, had our 12 week scan and all went well. Two heart beats and twins looking wiggly.
Had a screening results back.
Trisomy 13/18 came back as 1 in 10,000 which seems great.
Trisomy 21 (Downs) came back as 1 in 700, I wondered what everyone elses results were?

Should I be worried about the downs result being 1 in 700 for both twins? Xx

Rememberallball · 11/04/2019 19:37

When you had the test did they say anything regarding the reliability of the tests with twins? I was told that they can’t identify which twin would have a higher risk assessment so do an averages risk. 1/700 is a good result as anything over 1/150 is considered low risk.

HarryHarry · 12/04/2019 13:13

I wondered why nobody was posting on Thread 2 anymore and only just remembered now that it was full! I haven’t had a chance to catch up on everyone’s news yet but I hope you’re all doing well!

As this is a safe place I can say I have had my first hormone induced breakdown at work. Had to go to the toilets. Cried proper tears. Was also just before lunch so there is that.

Has anyone else noticed their nails are growing really fast? Seem to be trimming them more often than I had pre pregnancy

Jodie6 · 12/04/2019 16:30

@YorkshireIndie I'm glad you said that as I've had those hormones hit me both yesterday and today and ended up in tears both days!

secretlyhermione · 12/04/2019 16:37

I also had a major hormone outbreak two days ago and poor DP had to get the brunt of it. It was just before seeing our combined test results so was very anxious and I've been really stressed and loaded with work so quite tired so had a whole breakdown. Then I took a long hot shower and relaxed, and the results ended up being very positive so all is well! But yes, pregnancy hormones do creep up :D

angel0071987 · 12/04/2019 17:28

@YorkshireIndie my nails and hair are growing much faster this pregnacy than when they did with my ds. My hair is thicker and stronger now as was with ds too but last time didn't have to shave or cut nails nearly as often as this time.

Claireb2203 · 13/04/2019 21:13

Yes my nails and hair are growing very fast and my hair is quite thick too

OP posts:
Dyra · 14/04/2019 09:39

My nails and hair are great atm. However, the rest of my 'glow' is from the neon red pimples that keep cropping up daily.

YorkshireIndie · 14/04/2019 13:12

Dyra I have noticed a lot of neon red pimples too but over my body especially on my shoulders.

Has anyone's morning sickness worn off? Did not have much sickness but have started being sick in the morning which is fun

Claireb2203 · 14/04/2019 16:09

No more sickness but still this horrible gagging thing, where I just do it out of no where

OP posts:
SRK16 · 14/04/2019 19:06

Is anyone else starting to show? 15 weeks now and the bloat has gone down a bit over the past few days - I’m pretty sure what’s left is at least partly a bump!

Claireb2203 · 14/04/2019 20:42

@SRK16 my bloat has gone down a bit but I'm left with roll of fat 😂

OP posts:
Woolly17 · 14/04/2019 22:15

I've got a definite baby bump now. Still struggling with extreme tiredness and headaches, bordering on migraines. My hair is unmanageable (I have reasonably thick hair so it's a giant frizzy mess) and my skin is so dry. The good thing is that my psoriasis is almost completely gone!
