I find that I get headaches in pregnancy when it’s quite unusual for me normally. I’m pretty sure they are tension headaches so I’ve been doing yoga to relax and getting DH to give me shoulder and neck massages - it’s the least he can do!

Claireb2203 · 08/04/2019 21:04

@Saffy347 have u tried forehead , what you run across your forehead? I found that works quite well

@Saffy347, I have heard there is something going round at the moment about codeine not being good during pregnancy but haven’t actually found any research that is based on it seems to be more anecdotal from someone saying their Dr said it wasn’t advisednin late pregnancy. I just find that, for me, I need 60mg codeine to do anything for my pain (but used to take 100mg tramadol 4x daily along with high dose naproxen and paracetamol every day so I’m pretty tolerant to pain meds - I also didn’t have to wean myself off the tramadol like a lot of people do).

I am waking up with headaches most mornings and, if I’m honest, it’s beginning to get me down as they leave me not wanting to do anything and I end up sitting around all day doing very little.

I am also suffering from a lot of headaches lately also sometimes causing pain in the back of my neck. I suffered migraines before pregnancy so seem to get them alot now. Just wish it would go away. Also thinking I may have hayfever as much eyes are soooooooooo itchy aswell

faelavie · 09/04/2019 13:43

Hey @saffy347 & @Rememberallball
Another daily headache/migraine sufferer here!
I've had two GPs give me the go ahead on co-codamol, 2 x 30/500 tablets four times a day, before 30 weeks of pregnancy.
They constipate me a lot though. I admit I have given in to ibuprofen a couple of times when I was absolutely desperate. God I miss ibuprofen and naproxen SO much. Even though I'm back on daily amitriptyline, I'm still getting the headaches and they are ruining the pregnancy. Hope they improve for you both.

Woolly17 · 09/04/2019 15:49

Another headache sufferer here.

I think mine is related to the low blood pressure. I'm drinking loads and trying to snack through the day (blood sugar). But basically I have had a headache for four days now.

I thought codeine was supposed to make headaches worse! Must be thinking of something else. I relied on codeine sometimes when I had a flare up of haemorrhoid or bad period pain, as I haven't been able to take ibuprofen for a few years since going on sertraline. I miss pain killers :(

@Saffy347 I feel for you. Intrusive pain is the worst...at the best of times it gets you down, let alone. when you're feeling hormonal and worried about what you can take. After 4 days at my trade show I am finally home and worried about the amount of codeine I needed to get through the days with my back pain. But the Midwife said it was fine x I got home last night with a splitting headache and Ive woken up today the same. So I have stopped the codeine because it seems to make it worse for me.

Doop · 10/04/2019 16:07

My hormones have just kicked in, mood swings wise. I am a nightmare to live with I think.

Saffy347 · 10/04/2019 16:13

@Doop Unfortunately I've had to remove all my posts across this site, and will no longer be posting anything on here. Due to my vile sister who has searched for this thread and has been following it and taking screenshots of some of my posts I can't post under this username anymore. Really sad as this was my support and she's broken all of that. I am on the Facebook group so if anyone isn't on there then add Christina Peak and she'll add you into the secret group.
Happy pregnancies!

Doop · 10/04/2019 17:46

How do I find the facebook group?

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 10/04/2019 17:54

Hi Ladies, had our 12 week scan and all went well. Two heart beats and twins looking wiggly.
Had a screening results back.
Trisomy 13/18 came back as 1 in 10,000 which seems great.
Trisomy 21 (Downs) came back as 1 in 700, I wondered what everyone elses results were?

Should I be worried about the downs result being 1 in 700 for both twins? Xx

Dyra · 10/04/2019 18:27

Sad to hear about you leaving (and why) @saffy347. Sad Hope all goes well with the rest of your pregnancy and vile sister quits her stalking ways.

@PositiveThinkingRainbow 1 in 700 is 0.14% chance of it happening. Very, very low still. Positive thinking!

Had 16 week appointment today. Duly forgot to bring my notes, so I'll be getting my quad test done tomorrow now. Thankfully I work at the hospital so there's always someone around who can draw blood. Also got to hear baby's heartbeat. A most magical sound. Baby seemed almost eager to show it off! MW found it instantly at a perfectly pacey 155bpm. Roll on the 20 week scan now!
