So far, besides professionals that need to know, I have only told DH.
We have agreed to tell immediate family at Christmas, but that's it!

Anyone else going to tell people at Christmas? I can't wait to do something cheesy like get a mugs that say best grandma / grandad for my parents etc!

It feels so strange, I want to tell EVERYONE, but yet I don't want to tell anyone either. It's just so early.

I will likely tell only my very close friends before 12 weeks x

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 21:55

@Crossfitgirl yup I feel like I wanna tell everyone!!!
Was going to wait & tell my mum & stepdad at Christmas but don’t want her to feel like I’ve left her out on deciding which hospital to attend etc! So think I’ll tell her next week. Where I live there is 3/4 hospital choices pretty close by so it’s a big decision for us!

Bakingabean · 01/12/2018 21:59

I've only told my best friend and one other friend who has recently had a baby as I didn't have a clue what to do after I got the bfp.

For some reason telling people makes it seem too real. I mean we wanted this for so long and it was starting to feel like it was never going to happen. And then it did, and now I'm like "wtf did we do?" But in a good/scary/exciting way.

Crossfitgirl · 01/12/2018 22:04

@kileah18 oh that'll be nice to involve them. Will they be on standby for Labour etc too? I don't even know what my options are with hospitals! My midwife appt isn't until 27th December, I'll be 7 weeks. Literally the only advice I was given when I rang was to keep taking vitamins! Lol.

When / how many weeks will everyone be at your midwife appts?

I have so many questions... googling everything! My eczema has flared up just today, but I don't even know if i can use my steroid cream! So much uncertainty lol dont know if I can wait til after xmas xxx

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 22:29

@Bakingabean your right it does make it seem more real dosnt it! It makes me more excited though but also nervous Incase I’m getting ahead of myself!

@Crossfirgirl I think I’d want my mum and hubby with me during labour, we are pretty close I’m her only daughter. I havnt even booked a midwife appointment I didn’t know you were supposed to? I’ve booked a private early scan for the 23rd December I think I’ll be 7.5 weeks so I’m hoping we can see something!

WineWinner · 01/12/2018 22:52

Hey ladies, I'm tentatively joining after our first round of IVF and first ever BFP! I've been getting light positives since Monday and got a positive digital on Thursday so I am currently 4w3days. Been super tired, hungry and bloated but no nausea yet. A few people knew we were doing ivf so I've told my parents already and tell the few others that know next week. Will do something for the grandparents at Christmas if all goes well. I'll get an early scan from the clinic at 7 weeks and have my first midwives app on 27th x

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 23:08

@WineWinner aww massive congratulations on your BFP!! I’m also 4w 3days & found out Thursday too!

Chocolate89 · 02/12/2018 00:14

Hi all! Very warm welcome to everyone just joined! Had a lovely catch up reading the the new posts!
My bloods came back from last week and my hcg was 4488. I was 4+4 by my app which i was going by... but 5+4 by my lmp. Wondering if i ov earlier than i thought? Got a bfp around 7/8dpo.

V reassured to hear about the cm, i'm constantly thinking im bleeding and running to the toilet to check! Also v reduced appitite, managed a few crackers and half a scone today!

I was all set up tell family at xmas, but now it's feeling so close and i still feel v early! Going for a scan the week of the 17th so will maybe see how i feel at that! Told my mum though, it's lovely to have another person to be excited with! 😊

Someone mentioned bbt... i am still taking mine but it dropped the other day by 0.2 degrees and i had a massive panic so think im going to ease off for my own sanity 🙈

I definitely ovulated earlier than I thought when I had ds. I went for my 12 week scan at what I thought was exactly 12 weeks, but they moved me on to 12+5. I think I might have ovulated a bit later this cycle as didn't get my bfp until 14dpo. But that's a total guess really.
I haven't told anyone else other than dh. Going out for dinner with my best friend Wednesday so will tell her, I will want her support no matter what anyway. Will wait to tell anyone else until much later on.
I feel anxious this time round as it was unplanned and I'm worried it won't all work out. Spoke to dh though and he agreed we would try again if we needed to so that's taken some anxiety off. I do feel less anxious in some ways as I already have my ds. It is such a worrying time though, I had forgotten how much you worry at every stage!

milly2000 · 02/12/2018 07:32

Sounds like a positive appointment @Chocolate89 I'm 4 weeks according to my app but wasn't going to see my doctor for a couple of weeks do you think I should go sooner?

I'm taking folic acid have been for a while, but is anyone else taking anyone pregnancy vitamins? Do you get them prescribed or just purchase them from a pharmacy?

Also the last couple of morning I'm waking up with light tummy cramps and Diarrhea sorry tmi! Is this normal? Making sure I drink lots of water to keep hydrated!!

Xx

Crossfitgirl · 02/12/2018 08:09

@milly2000 I've had diarhhea the last 2 days as well, I think it's the hormones as I used to sometimes get it around ov and my period too.

You can get vitamins from any pharmacy, I'm just carrying on taking my conception ones at the mo - was told they will have all I need in them. And I had 3 packets left so may as well use them!

I went to the doctors immediately but that's because I had specific questions. @kileah18 I was just told to ring the midwife when I went to the docs, so I did and they booked me in! Have you seen your doc yet?

I also got my news on Thursday @winewinner! And our first midwife appts are on the same day, 27th!! That's such great news IVF worked first time! Congratulations!

@whoopsies glad your DH is being supportive:-)

SullyWifey · 02/12/2018 08:27

Morning chicks. Just catching up through the thread. Sounds like we all going through same things which is so fab to hear (including the bowel movements!!)

I told my bestie last night who is 7 months pregnant, oh my gosh she was so happy and pretty much cried for about 4 hours haha. Made it super exciting to share with someone else, made it more real.

I went to my doctors surgery Friday, just had to fill in a form at reception, book my flu jab, was given a little booklet to read and told I would be contacted at 10 weeks by midwife. How mad is that?! Nothing else! Lucky we have google and each other now right?

Defo deciding on forking out for an early scan now. Just for reassurance.

@WineWinner Congrats and welcome. So happy that IVF has worked for you. Sticky thoughts coming your way xxx

mrsof20118 · 02/12/2018 08:46

Glad to hear people are doing ok. Anyone already getting hungry in the night? Also the past few nights had cramps that seem to have woken me up. But may have woken up as hungry and then felt them?!

dragonmummy17 · 02/12/2018 08:57

Morning everyone!
My midwife appointment is 31st Dec, they won't see you before 8 weeks here and then Christmas gets in the way.
I've told my mum and 2 friends who knew we were trying anyway.

I'm spotting pink this morning. Only a little when I wipe. I had this with DS and it started around the same time so I was sort of expecting it but I'm still worried...

Crossfitgirl · 02/12/2018 09:18

@mrsof20118 I woke up at 4 this morning with cramps and couldn't get back to sleep. I felt really hot too. Kept waking on and off with the cramps til about 7 before getting up. Passed a lot of wind and had a poo. Now they seem to have settled!😂

@sullywifey aww your friend! How sweet!
At least you got a booklet! I got naff all! Just a midwife appt in a month! Lol. You're right it's such a good job there's Google and MN! Xxx

EverythingNow · 02/12/2018 09:32

I've told my mum and sister and DH so far. I'll probably tell close friends once I've been for a private scan at 8w.

I've got GP on 11th when I'll be 6+1, it was the soonest appointment.

EverythingNow · 02/12/2018 09:33

@dragonmummy17 hope you're ok x

dragonmummy17 · 02/12/2018 10:45

@EverythingNow thanks. it seems to have stopped for now so hoping that was it. Lots of extra knicker checking today!!

SullyWifey · 02/12/2018 11:37

Has anyone DTD since getting their BFP? I haven't and DH keeps creeping hahah. I know it's safe to do so but I just don't want to yet?!!

IrishCypriot · 02/12/2018 12:09

@SullyWifey I haven't! But only because my DH is too scared he'll cause something to happen haha.

Sweet of him but I hope this anxiety doesn't last the whole nine months Blush

Crossfitgirl · 02/12/2018 12:15

@sullywifey we DTD yesterday. I was not in the mood AT all with my tummy being so crampy, and I felt SO weird about it! But once we got going it actually helped me relax 😁 I was really worried i might bleed after but I didn't. DH had been creeping for ages too, haha. Just go for it. Who knows how much sex we'll get once the bump grows and baby comes! x

Kileah18 · 02/12/2018 12:27

I just fell the whole way down the stairs from the top and tumbled down DH had to pick me up at the bottom. I’m so terrified Incase I loose the baby because of this 😭

EverythingNow · 02/12/2018 12:29

We waited until after AF was due (mon) then normal dtd resumed. We never did in previous pregnancies but we spoke about it just before I found out and I said it was important to me to keep dtd, for closeness, for me feeling good about myself and because I didn't want to lose my mojo.

EverythingNow · 02/12/2018 12:30

Oh @kileah18 poor you! Babies are very resilient and well protected. Hope you're ok xxx

Chocolate89 · 02/12/2018 12:47

@kileah18 you poor thing!! Are you hurt? These babies are so resilient, they are v well protected at this stage!

We dtd yest and all was ok. I was v nervous though!
