@UnicornDust17 would your GP offer a telephone appointment? I hope you are feeling a bit better
@crossfitgirl what is the nhs advice? I had an early scan at the epu last time and it made me feel better for a few days then I started stressing again!
I don't really exercise so that isn't an issue!!

Whoopsies · 04/12/2018 13:44

Also, a reminder to us all that it's never too early to start pelvic floor exercises!! I really want to avoid the same tearing I had with ds so I'm working on mine already!!

clairelee17 · 04/12/2018 14:00

Is 8 weeks a reasonable time for an early scan? Or is it best to wait til at least 10? Due to a recent miscarriage in September, I'm so anxious. I got to 9 weeks last time before I miscarried, so would like to go early for reassurance. Can't bear this waiting around, like us all!!

UnicornDust17 · 04/12/2018 15:11

Thanks @dragonmummy17 they do but I've got drs appt first thing Friday so might just wait it out until then.

sunshine1987 · 04/12/2018 15:17

@clairelee17 after 8 weeks the risk of miscarriage decreases significantly so anytime from then on would help I think. Closer to 12 weeks the risk lowers. I’ve booked mine in for before Christmas (8 weeks on Christmas Day) so I can tell family then. Though regretting that reading these posts but booked now x

clairelee17 · 04/12/2018 15:29

Thanks @sunshine1987! I'm also 8 weeks on Christmas Day too! How amazing! I totally know what you mean. What date are you going for yours? I just can't wait until mid-Jan to be honest! And I'm holding off telling family and getting their hopes up like we did last time, so would like to be sure when we tell them. Fingers crossed this time! :)

sunshine1987 · 04/12/2018 15:32

@clairelee17 we must be due date buddies at the moment then! I’m going the 23rd December, I did um and ah about it but decided to go for peace of mind x

clairelee17 · 04/12/2018 15:37

Good for you @sunshine1987. It's the only way to know. And total reassurance for you going through Christmas as well. I think I'm going to do exactly the same :) I'd be too uptight thinking about it over Christmas if I didn't! Hoping due to previous misfortune that I might get an early scan through NHS rather than having to go privately. But let's see what happens! I'd pay regardless! You must be 5 weeks today, like me. Good luck, and keep in touch :)

MrsC87 · 04/12/2018 15:56

Hey ladies, I'm actually due in July but wanted to check in as some of you are talking about early scans. I went for one last weekend and I was 7 weeks 1 day.
It was amazing to see the little bean and it's heartbeat. I'll attach the scan so you can see but I would most definitely recommend booking one, it's reduced my worrying and anxiety x

Thanks @mrsc87

sunshine1987 · 04/12/2018 16:02

@clairelee17 I’d just like to be able to not hide it at Christmas, I know it’s still early days then but would help me relax a bit. Wishing you all the best too, we’ve got this x

@mrsc87 I’m so glad everything’s going well for you lovely xx

MrsC87 · 04/12/2018 16:04

Thankyou @sunshine1987
How many weeks are you now? So pleased for you x

clairelee17 · 04/12/2018 16:06

Thanks @mrsc87

Whoopsies · 04/12/2018 16:31

Hope my post before didn't make it sound like I'm against reassurance scans, I'm not all!! I think everyone knows themselves best and will know what the best thing to do will be.
I'm already struggling to keep this from ds (he's 5!) He's such a bright switched on little thing I have to be really really careful. I tried to buy some pregnancy vitamins yesterday and he immediately asked why I was buying the ones for pregnant people?! (I managed to convince him the picture of the pregnant lady on the box just means they are for mums!!!)

Bakingabean · 04/12/2018 16:59

Thanks @mrsc87! Did they do that one abdominally? I'm a bit scared of the internal one!

I've got one booked for the 14th when I'll be 7+2. I was going to wait till the following week but I called the ultrasound place to ask some questions and ended up just booking one!

My boobs are so freaking sore, they even hurt when I'm not prodding them!

MrsC87 · 04/12/2018 17:03

She tried it abdominally but I have a tilted womb so she couldn't see. It wasn't that bad internally, didn't hurt @Bakingabean
Just cold lol!

Chocolate89 · 04/12/2018 17:19

Went for a scan today! My friend works in epu so she said to come in on her lunch break! Saw a preg sac, yoke and embryo. No hb yet but she said v normal for 5+3 and i should see it in a few days! Feel v reassured, she said uterus looks good and no evidence of bleeding. So booked in again in 2 weeks 😊

@IrishCypriot @Bakingabean @sammi0805 I think we're all due aroujnd the same day, how are you all doing?

Wow @MrsC87 that scan is amazing!

Ninunina · 04/12/2018 17:29

So I did another CB digital this evening and it came 3+ weeks. I am 5+4 so that seems right. I had a mc at 6 weeks with my first pregnancy and I remember the digital test had gone from 3+ weeks to 2-3 weeks just before I miscarried. It's given me reassurance for today, but I can't wait til my scan at 9 weeks.

Is anyone planning on having the harmony test done? I'm thinking I'd like to because of my age (37 weeks), but I have no idea of cost etc.

SullyWifey · 04/12/2018 17:35

Ooo I missed so much sorry ladies! Iv been busy being very tired, been going to bed by 9 every night!

I'm 5 weeks today too, just realised I've been calculating it wrong! So 8 weeks Christmas Day!

I booked a scan for 30th so will be 8 + 5 then. Iv had internal scan before and it's absolutely fine, someone mentioned that xx

Every day I'm getting more and more excited. But the anxiety that we not out the danger zone yet is still so prominent!

@Chocolate89 Oh how lucky are you to have friends in all the right places!! Jealous haha. So glad everything looking on track though honey xx

SullyWifey · 04/12/2018 17:36

@Ninunina oh that's really good news. Hope it's put your mind as ease. Sending you all the sticky thoughts in the world xxx

IrishCypriot · 04/12/2018 17:44

@MrsC87 wow how lovely! Thanks so much for sharing that, I am going for scan at 7+3 so feeling very reassured now :)

@UnicornDust17 I think I'm due on 3rd August, is that same as you?
I'm having really weird squeezing pains so I'm quite worried today, frantically checking for blood every time I wee!

I know I need to just enjoy this because should the worst happen I want to remember this as a good memory, not an anxious one!

Bakingabean · 04/12/2018 17:47

Thanks @mrsc87 that's good to know!

@unicorndust17 I think we are all due around the same day! I'm completely knackered at the mo. Really not sleeping well at all. I'm basically tossing and turning all bloody night. Has anyone else developed insomnia?

Feeling sorry for myself and have ordered myself some Chinese food while DP is away tonight for work. My mum swore by dumplings when she was pregnant with me so I thought I'd carry on the tradition!

EverythingNow · 04/12/2018 18:20

@ninunina I'm 39 so I will probably opt for additional tests. Will need to speak to GP about the options

EverythingNow · 04/12/2018 18:21

@bakingabean yes definitely to the insomnia! I haven't slept well since I found out!
