I'm 37+3 - expecting a little boy.

I have a sweep booked for 38+6 and will be induced on my due date if labour hasn't started by then as I have polyhydramnios and gestational diabetes...

I'm just really looking forward to meeting my baby now

X

Hi all! I’m 39+1 and we don’t know if it’s a girl or boy 💛 Torn between wanting baby to arrive and getting a bit more of a rest (last week was my first week on maternity leave). Booked in for a sweep at 40+4 if nothing happens before then. Exciting! Good luck everyone x

orangejuicer · 12/11/2018 01:02

37+5 here and ELCS booked for 21st. I am anxious about it but also can't do much about it now. Just a case of waiting and hoping all goes ok Sad

We are expecting a boy and have a few names we like but will wait to see what he looks like (i.e we can't agree!)

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/11/2018 01:31

36+4 - appointment on Friday to see if will be booking induction for 38 weeks as planned or section for a last minute breech presentation!

Italianshark · 12/11/2018 03:14

I'm 38 weeks today!

Nothing planned just waiting game 🤣! Every day I tell my OH 'ooo that felt weird it's gonna happen tonight'

NADA 🤷🏻‍♀️

GreenGooner · 12/11/2018 07:06

37+5 and hopefully having a sweep on Fridays. Have the option of being induced at 39+4 but will be declining at present.

EDD 28th Nov with a little boy.

Stargirl90 · 12/11/2018 08:18

Super excited/nervous now just waiting for something to happen!

Emma198 · 12/11/2018 08:29

Marking my place! 38 weeks today expecting a baby girl. X

Emma198 · 12/11/2018 10:07

@Melaniesunflower I've PM'd you (and this is baby thread!) X

Melaniesunflower · 12/11/2018 10:37

Found you!!!!! 37+ 3 today, meeting with the consultant next Monday to discuss what options for induction are etc due to ivf pregnancy (they get jittery if you go past 40 weeks apparently). We're firmly team yellow, but really want to know what it is now as I want to buy clothes in any other colour apart from white and grey!

kate288 · 12/11/2018 10:56

I'm 37+5 due on the 28th of November 😊 I'm expecting a girl! Getting exciting/nerve wracking now. Don't feel very prepared as we have just moved house so hoping she stays put for a few weeks yet!

BarkerBump · 12/11/2018 11:08

Hi again everyone!

37+4 expecting a little boy. Booked in for sweep at 38+6 and induction at 39 weeks due to polyhydramnios and a big baby!
Thinking of seeing if I can get my community midwife to do a sweep at my 38 week appointment but not sure if they do that? 🤷‍♀️ I just really want to meet him now!

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 12/11/2018 11:17

Hi everyone Grin FTM here!

I'm 40+6 weeks and expecting a boy (if he ever turns up!)

Really wanted to avoid being induced but it's looking ever more likely!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/11/2018 11:25

TheVeryHungryTortoise - just reminded me I need to feed mine today 😂 imminent baby arrival means he's avoided hibernation again this year!

BrewsD · 12/11/2018 11:30

37+4 with a little boy due Nov 29th 💙

SisterA · 12/11/2018 12:15

I'm 36 + 1 - due 9th December. No idea about sex so I'm looking forward to finding out but also somewhat sad about pregnancy ending in a bittersweet kind of way! But I've still got looooads of time compared to most of you so that's nice :)

GraceH24 · 12/11/2018 14:43

Hi :) I'm 38+4 (can't believe how quickly that number has gone up!!) expecting a boy 💙

Probably just wishful thinking but my mummy instinct is that he'll be a little early. So ready to have my body back to myself now haha.

hammeringinmyhead · 12/11/2018 16:26

Hey all. I think I was first! My due date is tomorrow but...

Date of birth 📆 2/11

Time of birth ⏰ 19.53

Weight at birth ⚖️ 5lb5oz

Sex of baby 💙💗 Boy

Name of baby 👶🏻 William

My waters broke on the 1st but no contractions so I went for induction on the 2nd due to infection risk. Pessary at 1pm, contractions at 4.30pm, 4 to 10cm dilation 6.30pm to 7.30pm and then it was time to push! It was incredibly intense but all I had time for was a tens machine and gas and air for the last 3 contractions. It was one of those "You can't be fully dilated yet - oh, shit, yes you are" situations. They found me a delivery suite in a hurry!

GraceH24 · 12/11/2018 20:21

Congratulations @hammeringinmyhead :) William is a lovely name. Out of curiosity how long were you in hospital after the birth? I'm feeling a little anxious as keep hearing about people being pushed out the door soon after.

Countrymouse82 · 12/11/2018 21:32

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well! I’m team yellow and currently 39 plus 3 so due date is this Friday but at the last check baby had disengaged and bump is still high so midwife thinks I’ll go over.

She’s coming out on Wednesday to check me over and possibly do a sweep which I’m in two minds about as part of me thinks baby will make an appearance when they’re ready and not before!

hammeringinmyhead · 12/11/2018 21:44

At about 5pm the day after birth all was well except I was struggling to breastfeed such a little baby so the hospital booked me a recovery bed in a birth centre about half an hour away which was amazing. I stayed there 24 hours. So lovely to be off the ward and get one to one support. Most women though who had vaginal deliveries were out in 24 hours.

Babydust18 · 12/11/2018 22:04

FTM here 😊 due tomorrow 13th so uncomfortable. Been having period cramps and back ache for the last two days fingers crossed my little girl arrives soon! Midwife appointment tomorrow she said I can have a sweep which I’m in two minds about accepting..we shall see

Liz3891 · 12/11/2018 23:12

My baby came at 39+1 on Thursday!

I was induced. Had the first gel and nothing really happened. I say really because the ctg showed lots of tightening though they were painless. Some were accompanied by minor decelerations so the registrar was called and said i could still have the second gel. So they did that at 5pm and I started feeling contractions after that. They were pretty irregular and a mix of painful and slightly achey. I asked the midwife at 11pm what the plan was and she said delivery suite was too full so they wouldn’t break my waters that night. She was a bit unhelpful generally as I was in a lot of pain at this point and she couldn’t really offer anything other than codeine. She also didn’t seem interested in knowing how far apart the contractions were etc. Anyway they sent my partner home and 1.5hrs later at 130am my waters broke on their own and I was transferred down to delivery suite at 3cm dilated. I asked for an epidural and was told the anaesthetist was in theatre but I was first on the list for when he got out. There were decals on the ctg and the doctors came to tell me that they were worried about the baby and were going to prepare for a c section. I didn’t make it that long though as started feeling the strong urge to push. I mentioned to midwife who was like “shit baby is coming much quicker than we expected!” Had gone from 3cm to 10cm in just over an hour. So I ended up pushing him out with no pain relief in another 45min. Actually the pushing part was a massive relief after the contractions pain. So total time from painful contractions to baby was only a few hours. Very unexpected for an early induction and first baby! All in all very painful but actually not quite as bad as I assumed it would be. Not in any hurry to repeat it!
