I'm 38+3, and just had induction booked for 29/11!!!!!

TryingToStayRational · 19/11/2018 14:37

My waters broke in the night and my BP is up plus some blood in waters so am being induced anytime soon when there is space. Feeling really scared. Was hoping for water hypnobirth and felt prepared for “normal” labour but now freaking out about how I’ll cope. I know I need to suck it up and calm myself as worrying won’t help but it’s hard. Eek.

rhuzzle89 · 19/11/2018 14:46

Good luck @TryingToStayRational - are you in hospital at the moment? It’ll all be ok x

TryingToStayRational · 19/11/2018 14:53

Thanks @rhuzzle89 - yes was admitted this morning to antenatal ward and waiting for a space on labour ward. Told a few hours ago it would be this afternoon but we shall see.

Trixie101 · 19/11/2018 18:11

Had the mw this morning and all was fine bp back to normal just a trace of protein and still getting contractions every 15mins dp's words of wisdom was that he didn't think baby will arrive this week now which has peed me off a bit as im so uncomfortable so im hoping things start to ramp up so i dont get the i told you so 😂😂 men!!!!!! Just wishing lo comes soon!!!

orangejuicer · 20/11/2018 18:17

Hey guys I had my pre op appt this morning which all went v well but they're going to admit me tonight to monitor my blood sugars before tomorrow. It's all getting a bit real now and I am sh!tting myself Sad

GraceH24 · 20/11/2018 19:14

Just think @orangejuicer this time tomorrow you'll have met your little one, try focus on that as much as possible Thanks

AnotherOriginalUsername · 20/11/2018 20:36

Hope all goes well orangejuicer! Try and relax tonight, just think, you'll be a mum tomorrow!!

orangejuicer · 20/11/2018 23:53

Slight change of plan. Apparently guidelines have changed so I don't need to be admitted and can come back in the morning. Cue a grumpy and cold orangejuicer wanting her own bed to snatch a few hours!

There were a few women being induced while we were waiting and they looked miserable, bless em.

rhuzzle89 · 21/11/2018 04:09

That’s good you got home for a bit @orangejuicer. Hopefully you were able to get some sleep! Your baby will be with you soon!

orangejuicer · 21/11/2018 08:48

Well I'm in the hospital waiting to be seen by the docs. Changed into v attractive gown and socks, obs done. Likely to be first up! So far so good. Been asked to bring a hat and nappy for theatre - definitely should have brought baby bag in with me!

Trixie101 · 21/11/2018 08:52

Good luck @orangejuicer not long until you meet your little one!!! 😊❤

Stargirl90 · 21/11/2018 19:10

Is anybody else getting fed up of being pregnant yet? I'm getting really uncomfortable , my pelvic girdle pain has got really bad this past week or so. I went Christmas shopping today and by the end I was just in constant pain in my bump and having some Braxton Hicks. Also been feeling teary every night the past 3

nights, when I can't actually explain a reason for the tears.
38+5 and ready for it to be over now

Dandybelle · 21/11/2018 19:49

Hello 👋 this isn't my first pregnancy I've got a 4yr old DD but there are no other threads for me to belong to (read: whinge on) so I hope it's ok if I come and join you lovely lot.

I'm 39+3, don't know baby's sex, and am thoroughly fed up. I've been offered induction on my due date because of severe SPD but have decided not to go through with it because I spent all last week on the maternity ward of the hospital and witnessed 4 different ladies being induced and frankly it just wasn't pretty. My first labour was fairly quick and straightforward so I'm hoping for the same... although give me a week and if I'm still pregnant I guarantee I'll be changing my mind and heading for induction.

Bring on the babies 😊

GraceH24 · 21/11/2018 20:10

Yep another very fed up lady here too 👋🏻 due date is tomorrow and everything takes too much effort. I've been told only 3% of ladies give birth on there DD. Hoping I'm in the minority!

orangejuicer · 21/11/2018 21:04

Baby boy Orangejuicer arrived this morning at 10.32 weighing a whopping 10lb 3oz. Believe your scans people!

Procedure was v straightforward. We've had some issues since - mostly sickness and blood loss for me and fluid on the lungs for him. He's having extra care at the moment but I have seen him tonight and fx we'll be reunited tomorrow.

Side room free from 10.30 tonight and then I can sleep!

rhuzzle89 · 21/11/2018 21:16

Congrats @orangejuicer - hopefully you can get a rest tonight and you and baby reunited tomorrow x

Stargirl90 · 21/11/2018 22:04

Congratulations @orangejuicer
Hope you and baby boy recover quickly and you get some decent sleep tonight

AnotherOriginalUsername · 22/11/2018 05:11

@orangejuicer congratulations! What a little bruiser :) hope all is well this morning

Stargirl90 · 22/11/2018 14:22

I've seen midwife today for 39 week appointment (38+6) she had a feel to make sure he's still head down, which he is, but she looked at me with a smug smile and said 'its a big baby'
I'm quite shocked as I've had regular growth scans and 2 weeks ago he was showing as 6lb 1 oz at the scan, has been measuring slightly under 50th centile this whole time, so not expecting him to be that big Confused could she be wrong or is scan most likely wrong? My bump isn't that huge really

AnotherOriginalUsername · 22/11/2018 15:54

Think scan is likely to be more accurate although they are only an estimate (sonographer told me they aim to get within 10% either way when mine came out at 7lb 10oz at 36 weeks!!)

itsjusteverything · 22/11/2018 17:37

@Stargirl90 my baby has been under 50th centile the whole way up... then with the threat of an early induction decided to grow in the last 4weeks! He's now estimated at 39weeks to be 7lbs 8ozs, perfectly on the 50th centile. But if you were to look at my tiny bump you would say I was no more than 6months gone and it was was a small baby!

Kt08x · 23/11/2018 01:21

After a long horrendous labour arriving yday at 12.52pm ending up in emergency forceps delivery 8lb 12oz of baby girl arrived. Couldn't be happier and in such a bubble after waiting an extra 9 days for our surprise.
