Congrats @kt08x she’s beautiful. How’s things with you @orangejuicer?

I’m currently in the waiting area for my enhanced recovery appt pre CS next week...

orangejuicer · 23/11/2018 19:29

Hey all.

Congrats kt!

Well what an eventful few days. Just waiting to be discharged. Baby is doing v well after a day or two extra care and antibiotics.

Definitely take more snacks than you think you need to.

Hospitals really are hot.

Worst bit of procedure was anaesthitist (sp) pressing on hips to find backbone. Spinal itself was not an issue.

BreastFeeding is.... challenging if your LO has been on formula by teat at all. Cup method works well.

First poo was not fun but was not the worst. Just allow yourself plenty of time!

Hi everyone, my little boy made his appearance early this morning after 36 hours of labour.

I managed to stay home for the first 30 hours so when I went into the birth centre I was 6cm dilated already. Had a few hours in the birthing pool then had to get out as it turned out munchkin was back to back.

Gave birth on all fours after 31 minutes of pushing, thankfully midwife managed to twist him as he came out.

Feeling pretty normal recovery wise. Considering myself very lucky as have walked away with one graze. Slightly stingy going for a wee but other than that feeling good!
Anymore babies?

Pigeoncat · 27/11/2018 02:50

Congratulations! Glad it was reasonably straightforward.

Melaniesunflower · 29/11/2018 17:20

Baby Cameron made an appearance on Friday, via emergency section. 6lb 3oz. Got home on Monday, trying to get used to our new life, but definitely tough at times.

rhuzzle89 · 29/11/2018 17:33

Planned section tomorrow! Wish me luck

Congrats @melaniesunflower

orangejuicer · 30/11/2018 18:02

Congrats Grace and Melanie!

Fingers crossed for you rhuzzle

Hope everyone is ok. I had a bath today after mw signed off my scar. I cannot tell you how happy this has made me Grin

Hi

We welcomed our baby boy at 1558 today via elective CS. All a very pleasant experience despite being terrified.

Now feeling a bit abandoned on the postnatal wards but I think that’s fairly standard!

orangejuicer · 01/12/2018 04:58

Glad it went ok rhuzzle

Let me know if I can help in any way.

SisterA · 02/12/2018 01:16

My waters went tonight and I can't sleep.... no contractions yet so my mind is just swirling with all the things in yet to do but trying to rest before I don't have the option!

Hi OP and everyone else!

I'm 38 weeks with my first, I will also be a single mum. The 'father' has blocked my number and wanted nothing to do with any of it.
Baby is a girl Smile

How's everyone doing?

I think I've chosen a name but I'm still kind of pondering on it. My favourite name on my list is Lara middle name Rhian :) I don't know if I should rush to pick a name as I don't know if I'll be able to keep her. It's a long story but it's to do with housing. I bet all of your mummies have nurseries set up and everything is sorted but my baby clothes are still in black bin liners :/ So I'm quite stressed right now and wish I had someone to talk to but I don't.

orangejuicer · 03/12/2018 12:25

Sending Flowers Chloe.

And no we weren't sorted or organised, please don't put pressure on yourself to live up to unrealistic expectations. I am finding that a baby's needs are v simple and we just make it complicated.

You absolutely can do this. Try to find someone to reach out to for a chat, it works wonders.

Baby arrived here on Friday night just after 9pm. A very slow induction resulted in a very dramatic delivery after his heart rate dropped to 50. They wanted to go to theatre but said there wasn't time. Got away lightly with a few determined pushes, forceps and a few tears (ouch!) and he's fine.

We are, still, however, stuck in the hospital as cardiology couldn't pull their finger out and scan me today and refused to allow discharge despite the post natal lot saying I'm perfectly well.

As it turns out, the midwife who looked after us over night has just come on shift again this evening and has confirmed that she thinks baby is looking a little yellow, so just waiting for paediatrician's opinion so an extra night may not be wasted after all

Congratulations Another Grin Flowers
Hope you get to go home soon.
