I remember when my nephew was born, laughing at my brother who was trying to prop his baby book open with 1 hand whilst cleaning his bum, laughing that maybe babies do come with instruction manuals!

Now I'm hoping they find that book in the loft for me!!

Stargirl90 · 10/09/2018 21:46

Had my first growth scan yesterday, at 28+2 and on the graph where is has 2 lines which they expect him to be between...he was bang in the middle! Super happy with that. Got another in 3 weeks to check again :)

He weighs 2.7lbs she said, so just over 2 and a half pounds, he must have some growing to do in the next 12 weeks! :)

el89 · 11/09/2018 10:09

I've just been for my 28 week appointment and my iron levels are low, and the midwife has requested a growth scan as she says I'm measuring at 32 weeks HmmI think it may be more to do with it being a different midwife this week... But I'm always happy to be checked over! More supplements and some leafy green veg for me!

Italianshark · 11/09/2018 11:18

@el89 I was measuring the same at my 28 week appt, but no growth scan for me Sad - it was a different midwife also.

BrewsD · 11/09/2018 11:55

Had our growth scan at 28+2 also, baby was measuring just where he needed to be and weighed 2lbs 12ounces. Sonographer was happy with his size and we'll continue to have scans every 3 weeks because of my low PAPP-A.

EL332 · 11/09/2018 11:56

It's strange how much it varies what decisions are made...

This midwife measured from completely different points my usual midwife does so I'm sure it's probably just down to that...

If I'm honest I was considering paying for another scan because I wanted to see he was all ok and it felt like so long between the 20 week scan and him arriving so I'm happy to be able to have the chance to see him again and hopefully it's just a case of different measuring techniques?

At 25 weeks I was measuring 25cm and I haven't changed weight at all in the past 3 weeks so I'd be surprised if he'd grown as much as today's midwife suspects...Hmm

28 week midwife appointment done and all good. Well and truly cruising along!

dw23 · 11/09/2018 16:51

Had my 32 week midwife appointment today at 31+5, baby is measuring just above the 50th percentile and roughly 30cm so all very average which is such a relief. I'm so glad I had the 4D scan though, I'm midwife led with no growth scans and 20 weeks without seeing her would have been way too long!

Is anyone else getting a health visitor visit to their home soon? I'm having one next Monday so at 32 weeks and she's bringing a student nurse too. Apparently I'm filling out lots of forms, that's all I know. Deep clean the house in order I think! 😅

Also, stretch marks are here, none on my tummy but a few under my waist line, my Mum never had any, I've been sold a lie! 🙄😅

hammeringinmyhead · 11/09/2018 17:59

31 week appointment was uneventful with fundal height measuring 30cm. When she tried to do the heartbeat though I think she had poked him for the fundal measurement and he started thrashing about so we had to wait 10 minutes for him to chill out a bit!

dw23 · 11/09/2018 20:55

My baby is the same with the Doppler, she immediately starts moving around like crazy and kicks it off 😅.

Kt2108 · 12/09/2018 07:50

@dw23 I had health visitor here last week! It's basically forms and her asking about family tree anyone who would have contact with your baby - info on safe sleeping, breast or bottle feeding, what their job is, advice if you need it. Really chillled! She didn't move from my sofa x

orangejuicer · 12/09/2018 08:56

Morning all. How are we doing?
I was up three times last night, a new record! [yawn]

shallen · 12/09/2018 09:30

@orangejuicer I'd say I average about 3 times a night often a fair bit more!

Really struggling with insomnia, just wide awake, have today off work and was hoping for a lie in, but been wide awake since 6am! Although weirdly I don't feel too knackered, it's just frustrating as I actually classed sleeping as a hobby before being pregnant!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/09/2018 13:10

How did your GD appointment go @orangejuicer?

Emma198 · 12/09/2018 14:38

Hello! Just been catching up with everyone's posts. Hope GD appointment was OK @Orangejuicer. Re sizes etc, I've heard they're famously unreliable and should be largely ignored! Only concern would be if it appears baby isn't growing.

I'm 29+2 today. My movements are really frequent but they've changed. She's not doing as many jabby kicks, there's just a lot of moving and rolling, you can see her moving across my belly. So strange!

GreenGooner · 12/09/2018 15:11

Goodness me I'm so tired all the time!! I feel that movement has changed too. Still getting some prods and kicks but more a roll etc. I assume he's also switched ends. Last week he was head down and I was getting lots of rib kicks. Now I'm getting kicks below my knicker line.

Had everyone decided when they're going on mat leave? 7 weeks on Friday for me. I am on countdown!!

hammeringinmyhead · 12/09/2018 15:25

5 weeks on Friday for me. I've had enough too!

GreenGooner · 12/09/2018 15:26

I'd take it tomorrow if I could afford 😂😂

Italianshark · 12/09/2018 15:31

@Emma198 mine have changed also - barely any kicks. More like dragging under my skin! Usually on both sides, like shes pushing off one side onto the other!

shallen · 12/09/2018 15:31

49 Working days left!!! Not that I'm counting, my friend sent me a countdown timer thing that I have on my desktop!!

shallen · 12/09/2018 15:32

And yes my movement has changed too, I describe it as having a ferret or something wiggling about in there.

Pigeoncat · 12/09/2018 15:55

Anyone else completely and utterly shattered? I'm just totally exhausted, can't concentrate and all I can think about is bed! Sat at my desk just struggling. Only 29 weeks - there's so much time left to feel like this!

GreenGooner · 12/09/2018 16:15

Me @Pigeoncat I can't cope!! It doesn't help that I'm not sleeping properly.

31 days left to work and counting...

KB07 · 12/09/2018 17:07

@Pigeoncat that's so funny I literally came to find this post to have a moan!! I will be 30 weeks on Saturday, I'm exhausted and still teaching full time. I went to see a doctor about backpain yesterday- ended up being a locum whose advice was "well I suggest you give up teaching as you won't be performing well at your job if the pain is what your focussing on"
I felt like saying, and who is going to pay my bills?! Have you seen maternity pay?!!!

I just want the itchiness, back pain and crying at every little thing to stop!! 😂

Italianshark · 12/09/2018 18:21

30 weeks this weekend too... shattered.

32 working days left at work!! 🕺🏻🕺🏻
