Another one here being recommended for induction at 39+5 as I've had 3 episodes of reduced movements.

Seems to be more policy than necessity so on that basis I think I'm going refuse.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 31/10/2018 20:01

I'm hoping to get a date for my induction when I see the anaesthetist this Friday 🤞

artio0 · 31/10/2018 20:48

How did you guys know it was reduced movements?

I am so useless at tracking baby's movements regularly and I have no daily routine. If I haven't felt it for a while I sit down after the next meal and check how long it takes to get up to 10 movements, but I wouldn't know when to call the midwife about reduced movements unless it just wouldn't move at all for an hour or so but then again I wonder if that'd be too late.

shallen · 31/10/2018 22:58

@artio0
I have had a few episodes, but I don't know if it's me being massively over cautious or not. for me it's when I haven't had anything for a few hours or if they are just very light. I have certain things that can trigger movement, such as eating something sweet or cold drink, having a lie down etc.

I struggle to remember when I have had them as I'm busy at work through the day so have had to force myself to track them properly, I use the kicks count kick tracker (App Store) and track as one whenever there is a wiggling session. It's helped me have facts rather than a suspicion as to whether she has moved or not.

shallen · 31/10/2018 22:59

And I should say, if you are worried....... just ring them, every time I have been in to the mat unit I have been fine, but it's worth it just so you don't drive yourself mad with worry.

KB07 · 01/11/2018 10:13

I'm 36+5 today... and totally fed up! I'm so uncomfortable.... suffering with that vile PEP rash and pelvic girdle pain. No way to sit or lie down is comfortable. It's November now... eviction papers can be served to this baby now right?!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 01/11/2018 12:31

It's November. It's all getting a little close now!

Kt2108 · 01/11/2018 12:45

Finally!
I'm officially fed up 100%. Feel like I could just burst into tears at any moment. Just want it all over with now ! X

Italianshark · 01/11/2018 15:30

@Italianshark I keep getting that too. I’m due 29th so as far as I’m concerned baby is coming out this month!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 01/11/2018 20:36

Eeeek @hammeringinmyhead hope all is going well!

dw23 · 02/11/2018 12:50

Good luck @hammeringinmyhead, hope everything is progressing nicely for you! 🤞🏻

Looks like I'm having an elective caesarean now cos my baby is big but my GTT came back fine, an internal exam today at 39+1 has shown cervix is long and closed and hard 😢 and baby is barely engaged according to consultant. She couldn't even reach to do a sweep today, not that I wanted one but with her being big, the risk of shoulder dystocia is too high if I go overdue.

orangejuicer · 02/11/2018 16:15

Good luck @hammer
@dw hope you're alright. Do you have a date for your ELCS?

I've been getting loads of BH today. Not stronger just more frequent and I am freaking out that I will go early. I have 3 weeks to hang on!

Emma198 · 02/11/2018 16:19

@dw23 oh wow, how do you feel? So will that be within the next week or so? X

shallen · 02/11/2018 18:12

@orangejuicer me too, loads yesterday and a few twinges today too. Just generally lots of bits of twinges in my lower abdomen.

I'm 34 weeks and baby only turned head down on Tuesday so I'm thinking that might explain the sudden increase in twinges as she was tucked up transverse and out of the way before.
People keep saying she will come early cos of the amount of BH, but I think (hope) that's an old wives tale!

dw23 · 02/11/2018 18:49

I'm pretty gutted about the whole thing, obviously I wanted as natural a birth as possible but I think it's turned out my baby is following father's side (his father was 12lbs born) so don't want to risk going overdue and then struggling with shoulder dystocia and painful interventions and possible emergency c-section when I could just plan and prepare, I have to have another consultant sign off on the plan next Wednesday and then I suppose it's whenever they have an availability for surgery, I would be 39+6 by then so with a big baby predicted, I think I would be quite high priority.

Emma198 · 03/11/2018 11:54

@dw23 I guess we just all have to put our trust in what the doctors say is best, we don't know any differently! I hope it all goes well.
