No the thought of labour still scares me!! Need to get my arse in gear and sort my hypno birthing stuff so I can be calm.

Fireba11 · 30/10/2018 17:28

I'm due Monday so I'm 39+1 and so fed up and tired and irritable. Nothing is comfortable and everyone is irritating me. Arghhhhh!

Emma198 · 30/10/2018 17:28

@hammering sounds like a worrying day. Glad his heart rate was ok.

I ended up on monitor for a good hour because someone else kicked off and she left, said she'd be five mins! The baby twice moved away from the monitor and the alarm went off 🙄.

At least a growth scan would let you have one last wave to him before he meets you properly x

Emma198 · 30/10/2018 17:50

Haha something else kicked off, not someone. I hope not someone anyway!

EL332 · 30/10/2018 20:12

Hello all - I'm 35+5 and having another growth scan and meeting with the diabetic team again tomorrow at 35+6 so I think they'll make a decision about whether I'll need to be booked in for induction.

It will all depend on the level of fluid measured at the scan and whether the polyhydrammios has gotten worse .

My blood sugar level and whether they're happy with them or not... my post meal readings have all been in range but my morning fasting readings are higher than they should be and that can't be altered by diet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Whether this baby boy is still breech... and whether or not they advise an ECV.

I feel unsure about having one based on what I've read...

I'm feeling drained and tired and am being really strict with my diet and cutting sugar and a only very limited Wholemeal carbs... it's causing me to loose weight and so I'm now weighing in less than my pre pregnancy weight..,

I just feel like I want him delivered safely now and am happy for that to be anytime after 37 weeks - however is going to be safest for him to arrive...

@EL332 Im sorry to hear your having a tough time, at least your at the point of being able to get your baby boy safely at anytime although as you said closer to 37 weeks the better! I have had not too bad a pregnancy just lots of sickness and some episodes of reduced movement the whole thing has caused me a lot of anxiety so i can only imagine how your feeling, sending my best wishes i hope all goes well tomorrow!

shallen · 30/10/2018 21:45

@EL332 sorry to hear you are having a shit time.
I'm also wondering about an ecv as mine is still wedged in sideways and showing zero sign of moving down. I asked my nct teacher about it yesterday, she said it can have mixed results, they give you something to relax the muscles then give them a good push, she just said some people are better at it than others which didn't reassure me much to be honest.

Have you tried more natural methods of turning them? Have a look on the website spinning babies, lots of odd looking positions you can get yourself in which are meant to flip a breech baby. I'm going to chat to my midwife on Thursday then if she gives the ok I'll try some at the weekend (as it's hard to lie upside down on a tilted ironing board at work).

I have also been told acupuncture can help, if I haven't had any joy in a couple of weeks I'll give that a go too.
Fingers crossed for you x

li15 · 30/10/2018 22:59

@EL332 @shallen
Mine was breech and I had the ecv just over 2 weeks ago. Just thought I'd tell you because sometimes it helps hearing others experiences.
So the honest truth - I decided straight away to have it just because I have my heart set on a natural birth if at all poss. It was not particularly comfortable. The consultant used a lot of force because he has to first move the baby up then across then down! I was lying at an angle with my hips up while he pushed baby around. I had a nurse talking to me which helped but you really have to grit your teeth because it's not an experience you can prepare for.
I was. Told 50% chance of success and so be it after no more than a couple of minutes he said it had worked! The relief was overwhelming! They then monitor baby for about half hr to make sure it's not stressed.
So personally I think it's worth it for that chance. Whatever you decide best of luck and what will be will be and just know at the end of it all. You have a lovely healthy baby no matter the method it decides to come out!! 😊7

shallen · 31/10/2018 06:54

@li15 thank you for sharing, all I ever hear about is bad things and then people saying it doesn't work anyways, so good to hear a positive outcome.
Did they give you muscle relaxers and/or painkillers?
I'm hoping the little monkey moves herself and it's not something I need to worry about, but let's see.

orangejuicer · 31/10/2018 07:13

Growth scan and consultant appt for us today to discuss delivery etc. Will update later!

shallen · 31/10/2018 07:32

@orangejuicer same here, in for growth scan to see if she has grown, very nervously trying to force a bit of toast down at the mo.
Good luck for yours. X

li15 · 31/10/2018 08:16

@shallen yes I had an injection. Not painful just in the arm. And he covered my stomach with gel!

Just started early contractions last night! Thought I'd have to go into hospital but now worn off. So I reckon I may have a little one in next couple of days! 😁

shallen · 31/10/2018 09:20

Ooh @li15 how exciting, fingers crossed for you.

Just came out of my consultant appointment, all ok, baby has grown, now 4lb13 at 33+6 and she has moved head down so no longer transverse, literally think that happened yesterday as there was some serious squirming going on!

Pigeoncat · 31/10/2018 09:36

36 weeks. Everything hurts. Totally done. Think I’m going to have to go on maternity leave earlier than planned.

I’m just so tired and my Braxton Hicks are getting so strong And painful that I actually thought I was in labour yesterday.

li15 · 31/10/2018 10:15

@shallen that's fantastic news! Dilemma over then! You can relax now and weight sounds perfect 😊

SisterA · 31/10/2018 11:33

@Pigeoncat sorry you're not feeling great! Hope you get some rest and feel better soon. You are almost full term so I wouldn't blame you for starting leave earlier than you'd anticipated. If you feel you need it just go for it! Smile

Emma198 · 31/10/2018 11:55

@EL332 sorry things are so hard for you at the moment, good luck today hopefully you'll have a plan and something to look ahead to. Maybe even find out when you're going to meet your baby!

@Orangejuicer good luck for today too hope all goes well.

@Shallen that's brill news, hopefully everything will be smooth from here on in!

Everyone else, we're nearly there! Hang on in there! Tomorrow a lot of us will be able to say "I'm due later this month" 😲

Kt2108 · 31/10/2018 12:04

@Pigeoncat I really hit a wall about 35/36 weeks too. Honestly thought how would I ever get to the end of my work. Awful awful feeling. Lots of baths, relaxing oils etc helped me and I've got 2 days left to plod on with!
Hope you feel better soon x

orangejuicer · 31/10/2018 12:38

Well ladies, I am booked in for a c-section in 3 weeks!

julzx · 31/10/2018 13:18

Feeling so sad/upset/annoyed/fed up today, had appointment with community midwife everythings fine babys in pelvis so heading the right way but is back to back at the moment, im due 24th november and i feel like its the end of the world as first time il be able to have a sweep is 27th.. i think its just the hormones today anyone else have feelings like this? i feel bad even saying it as i no there is some people on here having such a hard time!!

shallen · 31/10/2018 13:45

@julzx did they say they they won't spin round now? Still seems like there is time. I have spent A LOT of time looking at methods of moving babies recently, from what I have seen it's all about sitting up and forward, don't slouch on the sofa perch on the edge and lean forward when watching tv etc. Gravity is apparently meant to make them spin round.

Emma198 · 31/10/2018 14:19

@julzx I asked my consultant yesterday if she was facing back to back or front to back and he said "silly midwives putting these ideas in your head, baby will still be delivered all the same" 😂 as far as I can gather it can hurt more that way but isn't necessarily a problem. You might not even need a sweep. Fingers crossed x

@orangejuicer wow! How do you feel? X

julzx · 31/10/2018 14:52

@shallen @Emma198 im not worried about position i feel i still have plenty of time for him to turn round.. i have a fear of going overdue and convinced i will (due to storys of stillbirth from 2 people i know) but i think im just having an off day im sure il feel better tomorrow.. going a long walk with the dog just now to see if this triggers happy pregnant lady hormones .

BrewsD · 31/10/2018 16:29

Is any body else just constantly exhausted? I went through a phase of not being able to sleep but in the last few days it seems to be all I can do!
12 hours straight the last couple nights and even found time for a 2 hour nap today.

hammeringinmyhead · 31/10/2018 16:50

Just had a phone call to say the consultant wants to see me due to the referral for static growth, but not until Tuesday? This seems odd to me. If there is a problem, can it wait a week?! I'll be 39 weeks on Tuesday and could have had the baby by then.
