On and off lurker here. 39 weeks today and getting SO impatient as I was convinced it was going to be early as me and my DP both were early babies. Also I'm struggling with SPD so very fed up with not being able to do much.

I'm hardly able to buy groceries without a random cashier making comments anymore which doesn't bother me when I'm in a good mood, but hate it when moody. But I'm definitely sick of people telling me I look 'huuuuge'.

How's everyone planning to give birth? It's my first and I had my mind set on hypnobirthing with as few interventions as possible but after freaking out over recent period-like cramps I'm wondering if that'll go to plan.

ER1212 · 27/10/2018 10:54

Only 35+6 here so I'm sure there'll be babies before mine!
Have yous done your birth plan with your midwives or is it something you do at home? I was thinking it would be included in the appointments but haven't done it yet?

hammeringinmyhead · 27/10/2018 10:58

I wrote my own birth plan and went through it at my 36 week appointment. Also currently 37+4. I woke last night with some back spasms and have had a tiny bit of spotting but otherwise nothing yet. I'm not quite "fed up" yet but I think I will be by 39 weeks!

hammeringinmyhead · 27/10/2018 11:00

In terms of how, I've put birthing unit, tens, water, gas and air, will ask for pethedine if I need it. However fully aware I may end up transferred to hospital 25 minutes away for epidural/section. I planned on hypnobirthing but I get bored listening to the recordings...

shallen · 27/10/2018 11:13

I'm only 33+4 so reckon I'll be one of the last.

We looked at birth plan formats in nct this week and have done loads on all the types of births you can have, pain relief and levels of intervention. so now I have a vague idea how it all works, we're going to have a go this week and I'll take it to discuss with my midwife at next appointment.

wimbler · 27/10/2018 11:22

I'm only 31+5 so still got a way to go until the end of December and I'll probably tick over into january! Can't wait for the births to start!

BarkerBump · 27/10/2018 12:00

Currently 35+2 weeks, and have a double appointment at 36 weeks with my midwife so we can write a birth plan together.

Been to the labour ward a couple of times with reduced movements (last night being the most recent) and so apparently protocol is daily CTGs until they can get me in for a scan. Of course he’s not stopped wriggling since we got home so I feel like I’m wasting everyone’s time.

Kt2108 · 27/10/2018 12:06

No birth plan mentioned from my midwife! 👎🏼 but I am writing a few key things down and hoping for the best

Emma198 · 27/10/2018 12:29

35+5 for me. Was meant to do birthing plan at 36 weeks but seeing the consultant then, so 37 weeks with midwife instead. Except, she refuses to call it birth plan and instead says birth preferences, I imagine not to get my hopes up too much that it will in any way run to plan 😂😂

I'm already so impatient. She's starting to really hurt when she's shifting about, it feels like she might tear out of there like something from Alien!

orangejuicer · 27/10/2018 13:20

35+3 here and quite happy to cook for a bit more! Finally finished work yesterday and have now started on the clothes washing in earnest. Also need to finish the hospital bags. I have my growth scan and consultant appt next week so we're discussing delivery then. Essentially when will they need to induce me - I'm banking on 37 weeks but we will see!

Hope everyone has a chilled out weekend/week avoiding trick or treaters Grin

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/10/2018 13:52

I'm 34+2 but he is having eviction papers served at 38 weeks at the latest.

I've had my birth plan largely written for me, it'll be induction, epidural, max 2 hour 2nd stage labour and max 30 minutes pushing before intervention with ventouse/forceps. Seeing the anaesthetist on Friday and hoping they'll give me a date then.

Have been in town today to get hospital bad essentials mainly veggie Percy Pigs nursing bras from M&S and some more clothes since I'm going to have to wear non-work stuff for the best part of 12 months soon!

Stargirl90 · 28/10/2018 10:23

I'm 35+2, can't wait til we start seeing birth announcements on here! I'm quite weird in that 35 weeks in others is heavily pregnant, but in me it doesn't seem real, like I'm a different type of 35 weeks that isn't as far on... [shrugs] no idea, I am strange! My bump isn't that huge compared to some so maybe that's why I feel like that.
Still doesn't seem real that I am gonna have a baby soon

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/10/2018 11:33

@Stargirl90 I kind of feel the same. I don't feel huge, I'm not waddling, I can breathe just fine (just took the dogs for a fairly well paced walk up over the hills), no cankles, I look and feel totally normal besides a bump. Still struggling to comprehend that there's an actual baby in there too Confused

WeeFairy · 28/10/2018 12:12

Hi all - I’m new here. I’m 33+1 now so due middle of December.
Finding pregnancy extremely worrisome as had lots of scans for recurrent bleeds and growth scans for IVF. Can’t wait to meet our little baby now!
Lots of BH and bump is growing really well! Hoping for a smooth last trimester now!

julzx · 28/10/2018 12:51

I was panicked as we hadnt discussed birth plan ect but we will be doing that at my appointment on wednesday i will be 37 weeks, i printed off the birth plan from nhs website and filled it in i felt that covered everything only to discover i need to put it on an app? Does anyone else have an app? i found it strange as i had no notes as such but its all on the app my bloods results my appointments everything you can think of!

Stargirl90 · 28/10/2018 13:09

@anotheroriginalusername it's an odd feeling isn't it? Like I'm feeling quite prepared for baby's arrival in terms of crib, clothes etc everything is sorted, but I still don't quite believe that it's really going to happen, doesn't feel real yet. I'm still quite mobile too, can walk about all day , still bend over and get up and down off the floor, feeling fit and well really

Emma198 · 28/10/2018 16:31

I am fat and waddling, and can really clearly feel the baby in my belly, it's always rock hard where she's lying, but it still doesn't feel real!

We have nursery done, clothes washed, Moses basket in living room, car seat ready and I've visited babies my friends have had recently but it still doesnt feel real, so I guess it won't feel real until she's here!

orangejuicer · 28/10/2018 17:18

I'm in need of Flowers

I've just pranged DP's car in Asda car park. Nobody involved, baby and I are fine but the damage is bad. I am an idiot. It was only serviced yesterday.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/10/2018 17:30

@orangejuicer what happened? As long as you and baby are ok, that's all that matters. Car can be fixed.

orangejuicer · 28/10/2018 17:40

I was driving through the car park and had to turn a corner and somehow scraped along a bollard or a gate or something. The bodywork has peeled off. Door will need replacing. DP came to get me and we drove home, I'm just so upset/embarrassed/shocked etc Sad

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/10/2018 17:45

It happens (usually to my car in car parks Hmm). No one was hurt, that's the main thing. Car can be fixed, people can't

orangejuicer · 28/10/2018 18:05

I know and I'm grateful it's not worse, I'm just doubting my faculties and worried about going outside!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/10/2018 18:43

It's cold, I'd stay inside but unfortunately the dog can't be trusted to walk himself...

I did try and do my shopping online this week so that I didn't have to venture out. I got to 3 items in my basket (and not even out of the virtual apple aisle) and lost the will to live.

shallen · 28/10/2018 19:45

Oh no @orangejuicer don't worry that's what we pay insurance for!
I'd blame baby brain, mine is very bad at the moment, literally can't speak half the time as I can't remember words anymore!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/10/2018 20:11

Baby is squiggling around like something out of Alien tonight 😱
