Hearing you all about struggling at work. 32/40 and do a job in a hospital so long days standing on my feet. Feeling great until this week when I just feel like I can't be bothered any more - work for two men mainly who mean well but really don't have a clue! Have a day off today so hoping a 3 day weekend will help me recover.

Also starting to freak out that not ready - have been focused on the house move, and have lost track of what I do and don't have so need to make an inventory! Has anyone found a checklist to use for hospital bags? Feel so clueless!

Italianshark · 12/10/2018 11:38

@rhuzzle89 I have been following this one, ticking it off over the past week as I add stuff in and was recommended to us in our antenatal classes;

rhuzzle89 · 12/10/2018 11:53

@Italianshark - thanks very much!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/10/2018 12:34

Ok I'm struggling at work today...

Struggling to not lose my shit with my colleague who will not stop moaning!

rhuzzle89 · 12/10/2018 12:42

@anotheroriginalusername - its difficult to have patience with people isn't it! You're halfway through the day now though!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/10/2018 13:09

@rhuzzle89 fortunately it's not just me who has noticed it so can't blame being pregnant! I have, however, as the mental health first aider (feel like they were clutching at straws here!) been nominated to speak to the boss about her as she's really not happy here currently and people are concerned

EL332 · 12/10/2018 14:42

Its ridiculous the guilt we feel over leaving stuff behind that probably isn't our responsibility at all...

I was sooo anxious about finishing suddenly and what my managers would say, but actually whatever happens and whatever any of you choose to do people do tend to find a way of getting through...

I think because I took a couple of months off due to my mums sudden death earlier in the year I found out that everything just carried on and someone else had worked it all out...

I'm sorry for those of you struggling with replacements - I don't envy that at all!

I am apparently looked 'properly knackered' now, 'very pregnant' and generally 'getting slower and slower each day'. All nicely meant but I wish people would just leave me the f alone. 2 weeks left and I cannot wait.

julzx · 12/10/2018 16:43

Im officially finished up work got 2 weeks holiday then maternity leave. First active birthing class also done today which was good, all getting very real that this boy has to come out shortly 😂😂

ER1212 · 13/10/2018 15:44

Anyone chosen a name yet? My husband still saying its too early, and we have got down to a little shortlist but it seems like he wants to wait till the birth Hmm

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/10/2018 15:58

We had names agreed on straight away and haven't changed our minds at all (despite BiL and his girlfriend knowingly using the same name last month!)

orangejuicer · 13/10/2018 16:51

Hey guys have you been having braxton hicks? What do they feel like? I'm fairly certain I've been having them but today they feel more intense and I've got some mild pelvic pain. Please tell me this is normal for 33 weeks and it's not the beginning of something else?

orangejuicer · 13/10/2018 16:53

ER1212 we have a shortlist and are waiting for the birth Smile

BrewsD · 13/10/2018 19:18

Being Irish I wanted an Irish name for our boy but if he's going to grow up in London it will be easier for him not to (I've struggled with pronunciation and spelling of my name since moving over to the UK and it never fails to wind me up!!)

We've set on a more English name we both love & one he hopefully won't have any problems with growing up.

Kt2108 · 13/10/2018 19:37

We have a few names! But totally struggling for boys

@orangejuicer I don't thinkkkk I've had them before! Apparently they make your tummy go hard?

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/10/2018 20:45

I've got 2 friends who are having difficult pregnancies right now (well one has had an emergency C-section now) and I feel so guilty that I've had such an easy time of it whereas on paper it should have been a nightmare

KB07 · 13/10/2018 20:53

@orangejuicer I've been having them too! I'm 34 weeks now, had major Braxton Hicks on tuesday that just didn't ease off! Sure enough I started timing and they stopped later on in the day.

dw23 · 13/10/2018 23:23

I was in hospital getting monitored on Monday due to reduced movement and was having so many Braxton Hicks they had to rule out beginning of pre-term labour 😱 was 35+4 at the time so they wouldn't have stopped labour if so but after a speculum examination, it proved a false alarm. Since then BH have been near constant and lots of pressure, I can barely walk 😬 I'm just praying I get to 37 weeks on Thursday and can have my midwife led labour 🤞

EL332 · 14/10/2018 00:02

I had to call triage yesterday and it was my first set of recognised Braxton Hicks - the pressure was so intense - a midwife told me to take some pain killers and rest with feet up and call back if they got worse... I was fine in the end and reassured by her telling me that it sounded like Braxton Hicks which generally get worse as the uterus expands and you become more aware of the tightenings!

OP posts:
Italianshark · 14/10/2018 09:34

I'm really concerned that I haven't had any BH yet. Well I'm not sure what they are to be fair and have had moments where my bump goes hard at the top only but always thought it was just her position. Unless that is them and I'm not getting intense ones? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kt2108 · 14/10/2018 09:43

@Italianshark I REALLY don't think I've had a single one 😳

hammeringinmyhead · 14/10/2018 10:05

I haven't had any either. Apparently not everyone does?

shallen · 14/10/2018 10:52

I thought I did a few weeks ago, but now I'm not sure I did, maybe just some kind of back/side spasm or something.

HungryN · 14/10/2018 10:58

@Italianshark Please don’t be concerned of you haven’t had any. Apparently they can be so mild on some people that you wouldn’t know you were having them. It is completely normal.

Italianshark · 14/10/2018 13:11

Ahh nice one everyone 🙂! Not just me then. Xx
