Thanks! Think what I was reading online was a bit Ott. Feel better about taking a little bit less now x

AnotherOriginalUsername · 11/10/2018 16:08

Bag packed!
1x newborn outfit (sleep suit, vest, hat)
1x 0-3 month outfit (please pray this doesn't fit!!)
5x spare sleep suits
5x spare vests
Few muslins
Water wipes (wouldn't want husband to miss out on nappy changing just because he can't touch cotton wool!)
20x nappies
And a partridge in a pear tree bum cream

All packed, just need to add some cotton wool

AnotherOriginalUsername · 11/10/2018 16:10

@Kt2108 I think it depends on your circumstances - I know I'm incarcerated for a minimum of 5 days afterwards and in good traffic we live about an hour away from the hospital so popping home to pick up a spare something or other isn't the easiest. Took me 2 1/2 hours to get home from my hospital town yesterday as traffic was bad

Trixie101 · 11/10/2018 16:15

Hi Ladies (late joiner!)

Im 33 weeks tomorrow and feel completely unprepared!! Have you all packed your hospital bags as I haven't done yet and feel as though I should definitely make a start!!

After reading all of your posts I am now in complete panic as I have bought a lot of 0-3 months and hardly any newborn or up to 1 month stuff, although I believe I have a very big baby on the way (est weight of 5lb 10oz two days ago!!) I know that isn't much to go on but do you reckon I should go and get a few newborn bits as im now in a panic especially as baby is due last day of November so don't want them to get cold!!

Anyway, hope you're all doing well! Not long to go now!! x

Italianshark · 11/10/2018 16:16

ffs I've only been buying 0-3m clothes!! haha... I thought that was normal.

That gives us something to do this weekend at least!!

Trixie101 · 11/10/2018 16:17

@italianshark exactly what i thought but now reading this everyone has seemed to go for newborn!! haha! exactly will be dragging the OH out for yet another baby shopping trip!!

Emma198 · 11/10/2018 16:19

@Italian I'm expecting our baby to be quite big so I've got a few newborn bits but majority 0-3 😊

shallen · 11/10/2018 16:22

Today I have had an 'oh shit I only have 2 months left' moment today, sooooo unorganised and panicking a bit, going to spend this weekend getting my shit together! All of your tales of packing hospital bags has inspired me!

Had my 31 week midwife appointment today, baby has gone from measuring 3 weeks ahead at 28 weeks to 1 week behind at 31 weeks! Also midwife now thinks she is breech which might explain why I'm measuring weird as I have baby's head and arse sticking out of my belly on different sides!

Stargirl90 · 11/10/2018 16:35

@Trixie101 just wanted to reply to you as i'm due on 30th Nov too! Is it your first? I have 10 size 0-1 month sleepsuits and some in 0-3 but none in newborn. Although I do have a few packs of vests in newborn size. I had a growth scan 2 weeks ago with estimated current weight 3lb 10oz so not expecting him to be tooo big

Italianshark · 11/10/2018 16:35

Yeah I had that moment this morning when I thought my waters were trickling. Suddenly realised my bags aren't packed to how I would want then, I don't have a single nappy, i dont have any snacks for labour, I haven't put the isofix base in the car, and now i realise i haven't got the right size clothes haha..

This weekends gonna be a gooden!! Il just head to primarni for these tiny sizes cos to be fair.. my bumps huge so im definitely not growing much of a diddy baby!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 11/10/2018 16:40

Most babies will fit newborn for the first few weeks at least. That being said, most towns will have a large 24 hour supermarket where you could easily pick up a multipack of vests/sleep suits etc. for a few quid if necessary

SisterA · 11/10/2018 16:47

Ummm hello I'm late to this but I'd like to be part of this thread! I've been following it for a while but haven't quite had the courage to jump in... also had forgotten my password for too long and just couldn't be bothered resetting it... kept thinking I'd magically remember it!

I'm due early December though! Working up to almost 39 weeks sooooo feel like I'm running out of time!

EL332 · 11/10/2018 17:18

Its all come around so quick hasn't it!

We've got his chest of drawers being finished today (up cycled and re oiled etc) so tomorrow I can wash and organise his stuff which will make then packing a hospital bag much easier as I currently have stuff in bags and boxes all over the place!

I also want to get the isofix base sorted in the car and make sure that I get all the last little toiletry bits and as someone else said labour snacks! So far all i have is a 6 pack of Lucozades as I grabbed them when they were on offer!

Italianshark · 11/10/2018 18:53

@SisterA wow 39 weeks 😱 and I thought 36 was late!!

Kt2108 · 11/10/2018 18:55

@SisterA I'll be 38+4 when I finish.. it's becoming a struggle at 35! Keep telling myself it'll all be worth it- hha!

hammeringinmyhead · 11/10/2018 19:08

I finish work tomorrow (35+4). Looking forward to washing and organising everything. We bought loads of 0-3 (so did family) but nobody tells you they don't really fit "0"! We realised we only had 3 newborn outfits so bought another triple pack of sleepsuits from Matalan but beyond that we're just going to see how big he is.

SisterA · 11/10/2018 20:41

@Italianshark @Kt2108

Haha I won't lie with every passing day I have questioned my decision but I'm lucky to be in a very relaxed desk job that technically won't exist when I come back so there's no pressure on me to do much! It will totally be worth it I'm sure!

Have been very busy the last few weeks so looking forward to some weekends at home to catch up/build furniture/sort clothes & hoping then I'll feel a bit more ready to welcome a baby into the world!

EL332 · 11/10/2018 22:08

@SisterA @Italianshark @Kt2108

I had planned on going until 38 weeks... then booked the last of my annual leave to make it 36 weeks and now ended up signed off from 33 weeks...

I'm not sure what I would have been like by 39 weeks!

OP posts:
SisterA · 12/10/2018 06:25

@EL332 Shock this should be interesting then... I'm not steadfast on 39 weeks should I need to leave early... so now just interested to see how far I get! I already have a countdown so not sure that's a good sign for longevity!

I just can't believe how quickly time is passing - so many people told me it starts to drag but I'm finding time is speeding up?!

EL332 · 12/10/2018 08:26

@SisterA I was told the same and thought I'd be wishing the days away but I can't believe how quickly time is passing and also how much I feel like I have left to do!

OP posts:
EL332 · 12/10/2018 08:28

@AnotherOriginalUsername I think I definitely need to check what sizes of stuff I have now too 😏 I can't remember how much is new born and how much is 0-3...

Italianshark · 12/10/2018 09:11

My work has me by the short and curlies a little bit which is getting to me slightly, especially today as I woke up feeling dreadful but can't take a day off sick! - I have a "critical" job to the business so I am already training my temp cover who's nowhere near yet - meh!

I almost want to go off sick till my mat leave purely because you ask for someone with certain knowledge and then they bare face lie in their interview, and then now you're trying to train them and they don't have a clue how to use the system they said they did...

be nice ellie

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/10/2018 09:49

Not your problem though @Italianshark! I know what you mean though, fortunately my replacement is experienced and is getting on great. The last person we took on for the role though, who is taking on some of my hours, still, after 12 months, is seemingly incapable of being left alone to do the job.

Not my circus, not my monkeys though! Don't stress yourself unnecessarily.

Trixie101 · 12/10/2018 09:50

I was meant to finish at 35 weeks but now having to go in for an extra 3 days (getting to the stage where I don't want to do anything!) to train up the person whos going to be taking over from me. But only 2 and a half weeks to go!!!

Came home from work last night and OH straight away said your bumps dropped so much! and for him to notice that is crazy as he never notices anything! Hmm and my god can I feel the pressure in my pelvis currently waddling round the office because sitting down is too uncomfortable wishing it was 5pm!!! roll on the weekend!

Italianshark · 12/10/2018 09:58

Not my circus, not my monkeys

@AnotherOriginalUsername - I love this. I almost want to email it to my boss and leave Grin ha ha
