Just have to moan, So I have mega toothache today, it's killing me! Don't like the idea of taking any painkillers when pregnant but have had to take a paracetamol that's made no difference at all!

Also have a phobia of the dentist, so a horrendous week of pain and fear coming up, not looking forward to it.

Add those to siatica and not much sleep, makes shallen a grumpy cow!!

Moan over, hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 29/09/2018 20:26

@shallen free dental treatment though!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 29/09/2018 20:27

Orajel is very good if you can get to a pharmacy tomorrow

shallen · 29/09/2018 20:34

@AnotherOriginalUsername yey at least I don't have to pay for torture!!😂😢

I'll have a look for the gel stuff tomorrow, thanks!

esw21 · 29/09/2018 21:03

Hey guys, I'm due 4th November. Had vomiting and diarrhoea past few days 😥😖 anyone else getting inpatient? X

Poppylizzyrose · 29/09/2018 21:10

Hi everyone 30 weeks :) chuffed today as I got a bugaboo bee 3 and it fits in my fiat 500 boot! Just got to sell the second hand egg I bought... silly me!

dw23 · 30/09/2018 21:55

Hi @esw21, I'm due on the 8th November and I had the same last week, diarrhoea and nausea, thought it might have been a sign that things were heading into the last straits, I've read that your body naturally clears itself out before birth but nah, all pretty much back to normal last few days. Definitely getting a little impatient now and ready to explode I swear, I can't stretch anymore.

Organisation-wise, we're pretty much done now, half way through packing my hospital bag just need to do a wash of all her little outfits and bed clothes and blankets etc. Feel like I don't have enough clothing bits but I have a baby shower next Saturday so don't want to over-buy, tempting though that is with all the cute stuff around.

esw21 · 30/09/2018 22:05

@dw13
Me too, body calmed down now but I'm still drinking my raspberry tea lol. I seem to be getting irritated at small things 🙈 and baby is making painful movements, doesn't help that im literally stretched to the maximum, so I know how you feel 😓 I'm still waiting for the "drop", not too sure what it's meant to feel like but I feel like he's still firmly in the centre...

dw23 · 30/09/2018 22:22

@esw21 Oh, I was the exact same when I felt rough, every little thing was driving me insane, I've never been so miserable or irritable. Agree, the movements are really painful now and every time I look I have more stretchmarks, I'm dreading getting any bigger. I'm told all the time I've 'dropped' but I think I've just carried quite low the whole time cos I can't see much difference, still mainly getting kicked around the navel, so sore Sad.

esw21 · 30/09/2018 22:41

@dw23
I've been told the same! But I've always carried fairly high... I do feel like he's nestling his head into my pelvis though, those shooting pains (lightening) are horrific. A bath is no longer soothing any pain, I just get too hot and sweaty and irritated. I would recommend walking early morning or evening, I find it a really good way to distract me and burn of my irritable energy Haha!

Poppylizzyrose · 01/10/2018 08:01

Anyone else living day and night on Gaviscon heart burn liquids? Swigged from the bottle or popping those heart burn tablets? Plus I wake at 3-4 ravenous, then can’t get comfy and back to sleep. Everyone’s saying movements can be uncomfortable now, I’m so pleased I’ve not got a big kicker on my hands. She moves her hands and body but rarely kicks out. Is that normal? Though? I’m new to everything. Covering myself in oil and praying very day, heard the marks come at the end sonim not that hopeful. Got 8 weeks to go.

dw23 · 01/10/2018 11:52

@esw21, good tip, I really should be getting more walks in, especially as I live by the beach, I have no excuse really and my legs have been super restless of late but I find even walking around the shops for a few hours such a strain now. I'm definitely getting movement much lower down though and it really catches your breathe, been a few moments I've thought she must be coming, it's so difficult for us FTM to know what's a sign. @Poppylizzyrose, I've been pretty lucky for heartburn, probably because she's lying quite low but I've had a few occasions, definitely got myself a huge Gaviscon double action I use once or twice a week. My friend said the only thing that helped her was cucumber and another friend swore by orange fizzy drink, they both sound counterintuitive to me but apparently so. My stretch marks came in the last few weeks, I've been lax with the creams and oils til this point but I honestly just think they are luck of the draw. I am however covering myself constantly now which is probably pointless.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 01/10/2018 12:01

No heart burn here thankfully as I'd rather suffer than drink gaviscon, can't stand the stuff!

I did have similar to what @Italianshark described this morning though - an agonising pain above my cervix (internally rather than externally) as I lept out of bed in a very spritely fashion this morning. It nearly floored me! I ended up back on the bed very quickly, where I stood very slowly and gingerly made my way down stairs. It stopped as soon as my bladder was empty so I assume that was my baby's MASSIVE head (seriously ladies, do not look at the circumference suggested by the scan on a tape measure!) bouncing on my cervix 😕

BrewsD · 01/10/2018 13:11

Anyone else's baby still breech?
31+4 so he has plenty of time to turn cephalic but I can't help to worry he won't!

Italianshark · 01/10/2018 13:23

Mines been head down for weeks hence the agony on my pelvis!

My movements have become painful and squeamish. Making me feel a bit sick

AnotherOriginalUsername · 01/10/2018 14:10

@BrewsD speak to your midwife about when to start doing exercises that could get him to turn - things like standing on your head (not quite, but yoga downward dog style positions!) and sitting with knees lower than hips can help apparently

shallen · 01/10/2018 14:40

@BrewsD pregnancy yoga is very good for getting them in the right position so our instructor tells us.
We do lots of 'open, down and forward' movements which basically means a lot of rocking back and forth with hips open and lunges.
Also we have a nice snooze session at the end which is quite nice if you are suffering with insomnia, gets you very chilled out!

BrewsD · 01/10/2018 15:59

Thanks @AnotherOriginalUsername & @shallen will give those a try, I've just started reading about Spinning Babies too... anything to avoid a potential c-section 🤞🏼

dw23 · 02/10/2018 15:13

Just got back from my 34 week midwife appointment and baby is 2/5th engaged which is apparently nearly fully engaged, eek. Had my first Parentcraft class at the hospital last night which wasn't that enlightening but we did get a tour of the labour ward and some of the midwife led facilities which looked amazing, I'm super excited now.

Kt2108 · 02/10/2018 15:30

@dw23 😨 ! That's crazy! I have mine tomorrow and have felt it shift definitely- had numerous comments about my tummy being low. Hit me like a brick that this is actually happening ! X

dw23 · 02/10/2018 15:49

I know! Makes everything SUPER real, I've read online you can be 2/5ths or more engaged for weeks though so it doesn't mean anything imminent necessarily, just a good sign she's going in the right direction. Good luck with yours! Grin x

AnotherOriginalUsername · 02/10/2018 18:21

@dw23 how do they tell?

dw23 · 02/10/2018 18:46

Just a lot of poking and prodding and trying to work out position and then feeling for how low the head is, all very unscientific but I suppose they've been doing it for years so know what to look out for 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wasn't expecting to be told anything about it but MW definitely seemed quite shocked at the amount she'd moved down. My notes have gone from 'free' 3 weeks ago to 2/5ths.

orangejuicer · 02/10/2018 20:43

Dw23 Cake for you!

Can someone tell me what braxton hicks feel like? Not sure if it didn't start with me today- odd cramp/tightening feeling coupled with lower back pain?

Italianshark · 02/10/2018 22:48

Is anyone else considering buying a pack of dry nites just so i can get some peace in bed? 4 wee trips in 30 mins tonight...
