Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

Is being unbelievably emotional a sign of forthcoming labour?... or just a sign your brain has gone soft through the last 9 months Grin

I have no other symptoms Confused

@Potteryprincess30 I had that on Friday, but unfortunately wasn’t a sign of anything coming.
Had a very busy weekend entertaining the toddler (who decided to deprive me of the tiny amount of remaining sleep I was managing to get on Saturday night). Impending labour feelings have all quietened down so think I’ll be waiting for the sweep on Wednesday.

Potteryprincess30 · 26/02/2018 10:00

@chiruri I think it definitely has a lot to do with the 'impending' feeling and the limbo of not knowing when the main event will happen. Though i'm sure even with planned births the run up is emotional too. I reckon we both have this last week, but a baby by the weekend would be pretty nice! No sweeps for Pottery so your likely to pip me to the post....the delicious, gorgeous baby shaped post Smile

I think reminiscing and reflecting is the thing getting me emotional and thoughtful. Exactly 8 years ago tomorrow, give or take, I was about to go into labour, theres something unbelievably weird about that to my brain right now!

Anyone else’s baby dropped? I think my bump is different today! I had day of Braxton Hicks on Sunday and baby really quiet yesterday. Then today there seems to be less pressure across my belly button (which was very painful before) and the kicks or knees feel slightly less powerful and maybe lower down (hard to tell if I’m imagining differences) (if you know what I mean). But I’m not feeling pressure down there or anything so really not sure! Is 35 weeks early for baby to start to engage?

Vickylou78 · 27/02/2018 09:43

I may take a photo in a bit to see if bump looks lower...

chiruri · 27/02/2018 10:08

My baby dropped at maybe 33 or 34w. I knew because I got bad pelvic pain and felt lots of pressure in my pelvic floor. Was 3/5s engaged at my 36w appt. DD1 was engaged from really early on, too, and came out with a cone head because of it! Her head quickly settled back into a normal shape, don’t worry.

Potteryprincess30 · 27/02/2018 12:14

My babies head has been down since 34 weeks but when I went to the midwives yesterday my bump was still measuring 35cm (so 4 weeks behind).

Seems it's because the head has completely dropped down into my pelvis

WarmSummerBreeze · 27/02/2018 12:15

I think that’s probably quite a normal time to engage. The advantage is you get less acid sensation, but the downside is you feel a lot more pelvic pressure. I’m finding the pressure on my bladder pretty awful. Feel like I’m bursting and then when I go there is just a dribble.

How is everyone’s nesting going? I need to sort clothes into sizes today. Going to get the next to me out of the attic and put a sheet on it. That makes it seem so real.

Potteryprincess30 · 27/02/2018 12:29

Im 39 weeks today Grin

@WarmSummerBreeze we put our cot sheet on Saturday, so exciting having it all ready! Quite jealous of you sorting baby clothes sizes out, I'm just playing the waiting game now....

fun game though Smile

Hi everyone. I have had a lovely first few days of maternity leave. Been shopping, stocking up, cleaning and batch cooking, but still making sure I find time to relax so currently watching the Notebook. Finished my labour bag at the weekend too so a few more days of some me time and this baby is more than welcome to come whenever he feels like it. Trying to mentally prepare for going overdue though so could still have another 4+ weeks to go yet. We are so close to March now, I am really excited for some more babies to be born in this thread. Will make it seem all the more real.

Twitchett22 · 27/02/2018 16:13

I'm due on Saturday and I'm FED UP! Mw told me i can call labour ward on sat to ask for a sweep, wasn't going to bother as heard they're not generally successful, but then thought maybe i could use it as a chance for them to examine me/check how close i am etc? What would you all do in that situation? Hoping things start before then anyway Hmm

chiruri · 27/02/2018 16:27

I would thoroughly recommend a sweep. Mine were successful with DD1 (had two, delivered less than 24hrs after the second) and I’m booked in for a sweep tomorrow for DC2. Either they work or they don’t, but you don’t lose anything by trying and there’s suggestion that they reduce induction rates.

Twitchett22 · 27/02/2018 16:32

Thanks chiruri i guess I have nothing to lose so might aswell! Do i have to be so many cm dilated or effaced or anything? Basically is there a reason they might not do it?

chiruri · 27/02/2018 16:37

No reason that I know of. In fact my cervix was considered “unfavourable” to the point that she could barely reach it when they did mine last time, and it still worked! It can be really uncomfortable, but I’ve heard that the more uncomfortable the more likely it will work!

WarmSummerBreeze · 27/02/2018 21:27

Potteryprincess, when are you due? I’m so keen for someone on thread to give a live labour update!

I’m curious, would you drive after a sweep? Or does someone generally come with you.

ShouldveGoneToSpecsavers · 27/02/2018 23:16

Is there a Facebook group for March babies? Can someone post a link please. Would love to join!

LoveRainbow02 · 28/02/2018 05:17

Hope everyone is doing well. This last while has seemed to drag in for me 😣. Had midwife yesterday and bump hasn't grown in 4 weeks so have a scan later this afternoon to check on baby weight and position. I haven't slept all night for worrying!
How is everyone feeling now? Anyone really close to their due date?

Potteryprincess30 · 28/02/2018 08:25

@ShouldveGoneToSpecsavers the Facebook group closed like way back in January I think (they closed it when the first baby was born or something) but welcome!

Potteryprincess30 · 28/02/2018 08:33

@LoveRainbow02 I had the exact same Monday. Measuring 35 weeks at 39 so they sent me for a growth scan. I wasn't particularly worried as they seem to send women all the time and the babies always are absolutely fine (sometimes much larger then expected!). This bump measuring thing is such an inexact science, it creates a lot of worrying.

Anyway, as expected, my babies head had just dropped right down into my pelvis (like behind the bones) so that was why I 'measured small'.

Amazing getting a look at parts of my super squished baby after my last scan being 20 weeks though. It'll be completely fine and a similar situation I would imagine, or perhaps a little less fluid then other people (I had this too). My babies predicted weight was 7.8 pounds by their thigh measuring....tbh I call bull on this too, how can they know from a thigh! But honestly it's going to be fine today, it's just such a shame they couldn't do it in the same day for you too. Meant you worrying all night

MrsL2016 · 28/02/2018 10:23

Is anyone else experiencing dry mouth? I had it in the early weeks but it has reared its head again in the last few days. I am guzzling lots of water but then I am peeing every 5 mins!

ShouldveGoneToSpecsavers · 28/02/2018 10:38

Potteryprincess30 oh no. I really wanted to join. Is there another one I could join? I just find talking to people going through the same stuff helpful!

Vickylou78 · 28/02/2018 13:54

Well I’m 35 +4 weeks and yes definitely think my bump has dropped! Peeing all the time now too. Hopefully midwife next week will confirm, it’s exciting now.

I’m loving that so many if you are off for sweeps!! Maybe some babies coming soon! Please keep us posted if you have any news.

On my work days off I’ve been nesting and washing baby clothes and buying last few bits and hoping to be ready for baby if it was to come early. Still feeling bit unprepared though.... sure will be fine!

LoveRainbow02 · 28/02/2018 14:12

@Potteryprincess30 scan went well and showed baby to be measuring fine and is estimated to be weighing just under 6lbs and is well down into my pelvis. All that worrying for nothing! I've been having loads of small pains down below today and tummy keeps hardening so think I am experiencing braxton hicks now. Delightful lol.
