Can someone direct me to the March thread please? Or shall we start a new one? I feel like the old one has completely disappeared into the depths of the mumsnet sea.

We're getting close now and wanted to see how everyone was as I'm due the 7th Smile

All the best to you all lovely pregnant ladies

Good list blickineckmum. As a second time mum I would also recommmend packing Lasinoh nipple cream in hospital bag if you plan to try breastfeeding.

I’m glad you reminded me of flip flops. Going to toilet in hospital is gross otherwise.

WarmSummerBreeze · 14/02/2018 14:15

I’d love to hear of a March thread baby safely here. Once the babies start coming it makes it all seem real. Don’t hold back....if someone has given birth please shout out!

HavingaPanda · 14/02/2018 14:27

@blinkineckmum what sizes are you taking in for those vests etc? 4 seems sensible, but is that 4x newborn and 4x 0-3?

DH is already glaring at the size of my bag...

WarmSummerBreeze · 14/02/2018 15:25

I’ve packed newborn and up to one month. I’ve packed newborn things in a large ziploc bag with label saying “if baby under 8lb” and up to one month things in a ziploc labelled “if baby over 8lbs”. A bit OCD but it will be easy for my husband to locate what’s needed. I have kept labels on newborn things and will return them to marks and Spencer’s if baby is over 8lbs and never needs to wear them.

blinkineckmum · 14/02/2018 16:05

Just newborn here. Last babies were 6lb15 and 6lb04. This one could be bigger but the newborn vests looked huge at first! Dh will know where the others are if needed anyway.

blinkineckmum · 14/02/2018 16:07

Oh, and hospital notes/ orange book in the hospital bag too!

MrsL2016 · 14/02/2018 17:07

Babies bag is all packed and I went with 3x newborn vests and sleepsuits and the same again in 0-3. I have only half packed mine and that's because we went away at the weekend and I panicked in case he came early. So I had my normal weekend bag and some extra maternity bits in a separate bag with my notes. Do people carry their notes everyqhere with them? I don't at the moment but I am never really more than 10-20 mins away from my house at the minute.

HazyDays81 · 14/02/2018 17:56

blinkineckmum thanks for the list that’s really handy! Planning to finish packing my hospital bag at the weekend. I think I’ll need at least 2 bags. Put my toiletries, towel, sanitary towels & nappies in my little suitcase which has pretty much filled it Grin

MrsL2016 I have only been carrying my maternity notes with me when I go to work in London but probably should take them everywhere at this stage I guess.

I’m hoping for a water birth this time (DS3) - has anyone had one before/any tips? (if of course it all works out I can have one).

TheMrs04 · 14/02/2018 19:58

Evening all! I've had a day of it!! Baby hadn't moved a lot this afternoon so went to be checked out was there for a total of 4 hours! I had to do a mad dash to complete my bag just in case! Turns out little one had managed to get himself in a really comfy position he just didn't want to move! Until the US lady came in and rudely woke him up! And now he is nonstop moving!!

On the plus side I bumped into someone I know from Work who was due last week and I got to meet her little bundle before I left! Who was born whilst I was there! 1st pregnancy and born in 3 hours 😬 makes me wonder how long my labour will last this time round 🙈🙈

Mugglenet · 15/02/2018 18:59

Wishing I could start nesting already... I've so much 2 do. But lacking motivation/energy

MrsL2016 · 15/02/2018 19:04

I'm chomping at the bit to finish work next week so I can start ticking stuff of my to do list. But I have a feeling once I don't have to go to work and be productive all day my motivation may take a nose dive. I think it's about finding balance. Maybe just set yourself one or two tasks to do a day and take it easy the rest of the time. This is how I approach most things in life. Do something productive/useful then treat yourself.

Mugglenet · 15/02/2018 19:11

I finish work on Saturday so I'm hoping that I start getting ready next week. I know I'm having this baby in the next 5 weeks so I need to get a move on. Like yourself I can't wait to get finished.

blinkineckmum · 15/02/2018 21:43

Really struggling with backache and tiredness now. I have 2 preschoolers with me all day every day at the no, and no family around. I'm excites to meet the new one, but a bit worried now about how we'll all cope!

Vickylou78 · 15/02/2018 23:46

It’s hard isn’t it! I’ve had awful day. Feel massive.. bump aches... back aches and sooo tired and have million things to do (including packing hospital bags, getting baby stuff ready etc) but by time evening comes and my first one finally asleep I’m too tired to move off of sofa!!

Anyone else’s bump really sore? I’ve got separated tummy muscles but also my skin on bump very sore where skin stretching out. It’s lovely this pregnancy malarkey!

Thank you for the lists! They will definitely come in handy for me.

Keep going all you mummy’s!

Mugglenet · 16/02/2018 03:08

Wide awake at 3am. Just need to sleep

Potteryprincess30 · 16/02/2018 08:17

@Vickylou78 it's probably all the running around after your first one too. If I spend the day doing very little around the house, lots of laying about ect, mine feels fine. But if I get a bus into town, or go to the shops, swim... literally within an hour mine feels the same.

Weight of the baby I suppose Smile

Still awake @potteryprincess30 obv my body getting me ready for what lies ahead

Potteryprincess30 · 16/02/2018 09:29

@Mugglenet when are you due again? Sorry I lost track, Feel like your at the beginning of March too like me? You must be feeling so out of sorts after being up for so long, are you working god forbid today? Or just tomorrow and then it ends and you can finally nest and snuggle?

Potteryprincess30 · 16/02/2018 09:33

Looking back I'm seeing that there may have been a baby born the last week as someone was due a few days before me (i'm the 7th) and they had a c section for 37 weeks.

@flowa79 Did you have the baby!? How are you? guessing your little one is nearly a week old now. All the best to you and your family Smile

Hope you are all doing well

Potteryprincess30 · 16/02/2018 09:38

@Mugglenet I see now your due on the 28th of March, Honestly those last few weeks are going to fly for you, it's this month and the last that have been slow torture. But now I'm nearly in the last 2 weeks the days are passing faster now (I i literally felt like time was going backwards a few weeks back).

Each day is now actually passing fast now its so close Smile

Once you've finished work everything will be so much easier @Mugglenet , you will really enjoy your last 4 weeks off, trust me! it's be all nesting and snoozing on the sofa, netflix and cake Smile

@thaigreencurry82 you must be finishing work today/tomorrow?! How are you feeling? Are you still planning a natural birth if all goes to plan?

hope those people on the tube have kept up with giving you a seat, the bus people of Bristol are not as obliging I can tell you. My parents are from London so have spent many a tube journey squashed and sweating so I am so glad you were being offered seats on your commute. I wouldn't be surprised at fainting in those conditions when your pregnant.

All the best to you Smile
