I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Thinking of you all! Here' the Due Dates list. I couldn't believe it was so long since it had been updated, and I don't think I should leave it.
Sorry, BlueButTrue, as you are in a sort of No Man's Land at the moment, and I certainly hope you don't have painful contractions and nothing going forward for much longer. I hope it doens't seem insensitive to put it up but I had to scroll back to page 16 out of 17 to get it.
Someone mentioned their age statistics, which are interesting.

Midwife hasn’t checked to see how I’ve dilated, no. Should I ask her to?

Eeek! I’m first on the list for D Day now Grin

Feeling absolutely rotten, sore throat and a cold from hell to boot.

Lucinda Did you say you wanted me to put my age? I’m confused, I didn’t grasp what you mean Blush I’m all over the place this morning!

DeadDoorpost · 31/10/2017 12:10

I'm 3rd on the list! It's crazy!

I think if someone really wanted to do some research into HG then statistics would be a really good thing to help. If I was a scientist I might try to look into it but I'm not, which sucks. I don't even have any scientist friends who's be in this field.. several are animal scientists and another is currently helping to work on a cure for cancer.
pippa mine is only half done too so at least it's getting there for the both of us! I'm not nesting though. I went through that weeks ago. Currently putting ribbons and bows on the Christmas presents though...

LucindaE · 31/10/2017 12:16

BlueButTrue Grin A misunderstanding, I think! Someone a good bit earlier was interested in general information, though! I know you are a spring chicken anyway! Many of you are the same age as my daughter.

Are you still at home Blue? Iv not seen your post about labour so I’m poking about in the dark. If you have been getting constant labour pains and not been up to see if you are dilating any I’d say go for it. You are going to end up absolutely exhausted.

dillydollydarling · 31/10/2017 12:29

Just realised my due date isn't on the list. It's 4th may if you could add it please. I'm now almost 14 weeks and starting to have the odd day where I don't throw up as much as usual so I'm hoping I'm improving!

justtheonethen · 31/10/2017 12:38

Oh blue! Hope it won't be long for you now! I can't wait to see your little bundle of joy!

and Flowers to everyone. I have read back but can't remember who said what!

Had a couple of really good days but paying for it now and am still in bed and gagging Envy. Just when I was thinking that I might try and go back to the lower ondansetron dose.

Wishing everyone a good day, or a tolerable one if that's not possible!

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 31/10/2017 12:59

Oh that's crap justtheonethen. I'm having a reasonable day today, after a reasonable afternoon yesterday. Still feel crap in between but it's nice to have a bit of respite. Hoping it lasts...ha!

Shehz21 · 31/10/2017 13:01

Dilly Glad to hear about the improvement since you hit 14 weeks! It does get better from here, ever so slightly day by day but the good days are gonna keep increasing hopefully -fingers crossed for you-

justtheonethen Hah that happens to me too quite often where couple of good days are followed by me anguished in bed sobbing over my destiny. HG makes me a drama queen no jokesBlush

Dreading the GTT test in December from now itself after reading about the diet consistency from Pippa's post. Plus with both my parents diabetic and me being the nastiest sweet tooth on earth, I am convinced I will end up with gestational diabetes.. :(

Waves to everyone.

justtheonethen · 31/10/2017 13:49

shehz it's like you're watching me Grin

Also dreading the GTT, mine is just before Christmas .

batman glad you're having a reasonable day Smile and dilly too! It's definitely better after the 14-16 week mark. Thank goodness!

pippanippa · 31/10/2017 15:31

deaddoor, glad I'm not the only one who has started the christmas shopping early. DD's presents are almost all sorted, though have nothing for DH yet!

Sorry Shehz, didn't mean to scare you with the GD diet stuff, I think they're quite strict on their diet advice here and other places a bit more relaxed. Plus they do seem to understand that the circumstances with HG make it much more tricky, my Dr tells me I can eat more carbs and have the odd small sugary treat if I'm feeling really poorly for example. Natsku sadly mango is high in sugar - I realise now why I loved it so much before!

Poor you blue, I don't think I could handle such a protracted labour, once things started for me the adrenaline was there so I know I couldn't have slept etc, so it was merciful that it wasn't that long - I hope things start to speed up for you! Glad batman and dilly are having comparatively good days, though commiserations justtheone!

justtheonethen · 31/10/2017 15:42

Thanks pippa! GD seems like a nightmare to handle with HG. I survive on white carbs now....dreading the GTT!

Natsku · 31/10/2017 15:58

Been so hungry all day! Found some bread that's high fibre and not too carby but still tastes good (carrot bread) and got cheese and cucumber and ham and nuts for snacks. Will have to give up my mango a day habit for now but not going to go strictly gd diet so the bloods more accurately represent what I eat. Just did my first finger prick, was humming and hawing over it until DD said "oh just do it!"

lookingforthecorkscrew · 31/10/2017 16:18

Current meds aren’t helping with the nausea anymore. Think it may be time to beg for Ondansetron. :(

Shehz21 · 31/10/2017 16:48

justtheonethen mine is just before Christmas as well! Grin And my diet consists of mainly white carbs and mangoes atm which I am totally loving.

Pippa Aww don't worry, it's good to have a realistic picture of what to expect. I'm guessing my midwife isn't going to be great about leniency towards managing a GD diet with HG since she seems pretty clueless about HG itself..

lookingforthecorkscrew What anti emetics are you currently on? Sometimes having 2 different ones or upping your current dose can help. Though I would highly recommend the ondansetron. It seems to be the ultimate respite from hg.

seizethecuttlefish · 31/10/2017 17:00

Just had a call from the drs surgery to say that they won’t prescribe ondansetron as they don’t have anything from the hospital saying I should be on it! I’ve been on it 3 it 4 weeks. I pointed them in the direction of the NICE guidelines and also the PSS charity but they called pregnancy triage who said I was not prescribed it by them. True as they said they couldn’t prescribe it, put a note to my dr and it was the EPU. I’m at a loss. I don’t want to go back to throwing up constantly. I’ve been on it for a few weeks. They are suggesting the buccastem stuff with cyclizine. I was actually being sick with the buccastem on my gums. I could cry! Sorry just so frustrated. It’s not like I’m requesting morphine.

pizzafrenchfries · 31/10/2017 17:05

Hi I don’t know if this is the right place to post... I had severe hg in my first pregnancy last year and it’s made me terrified of having another baby... fast forward a year and I changed my pill a couple of months ago and came off it... long story short my period is due but I cannot stop burping and I have horrendous nausea..... please can someone reassure me that if I am pregnant I’ll manage.... I can’t even imagine how to deal with it again! the idea of having an actual second child isn’t an issue at all, it’s the idea of another nine months of vomiting with a one year old I can’t face!

LucindaE · 31/10/2017 17:10

sieze Oh no. Perhaps PSS might suggest a way out of this vicious circle? So infuriating, and they have helped in similar situtions before.
dillydollydarling Happy to hear that. I've added you.

seize that's ridiculous! Call PSS as Lucinda says. Really hope you get it sorted.

looking definitely time to change/add to the meds. Ask for ondansetron as it's the dogs bollocks.

natsku eeeep I think you're really brave. That's freaking me out and I don't even know if I have to do it! Did it hurt?

pizza I guess first step is to test. If you are pregnant then get to the gp quickly and get a good treatment plan in place. Flowers

I fancy mango now.....which is weird as I don't normally like them Grin

DeadDoorpost · 31/10/2017 17:47

Midwife reckons sore spot on stomach is from baby moving... he's now head down!!! Hallelujah! Birth plan set up and ready. Ketones were found in my urine but not really surprising as I've been sick all pregnancy and been drinking cola today. And some protein as well but she reckons it's because it may have been some discharge in the urine not a sign of preeclampsia. Discharge has been pretty more regular recently.

BlueButTrue · 31/10/2017 18:06

Hi all, still no progress so going to see if I can see my Midwife tomorrow!

Lucinda 19 Grin

NonStopDisco · 31/10/2017 18:50

OnNaturesCourse look how far up the list we’ve got!

Natsku · 31/10/2017 18:55

just it did hurt a bit but it was the anticipation that was the worst. Wish I had bought a pack of plasters though, it bleeds like crazy!

Ameliablue · 31/10/2017 19:01

Hi Pizza, I'm on my third HG pregnancy and would say they are not all the same but one thing that had definitely helped us knowing the signs and being able to ask for help sooner. I've found my doctor's more willing to give the better drugs sooner as they can see from my history that it was needed. So it becomes more about managing on a day to day basis rather than having to wait till your flat out before being able to get the help.

justtheonethen · 31/10/2017 19:25

natsku that's made me feel all funny . You're so brave!
