I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Spoke too soon earlier - was sick a little while ago, reckon the cream on my strawberries was too rich for my belly. And now sausages and mustard go on my list of 'foods I never want to vomit again'

Mustang27 · 16/07/2017 23:07

Oh man I'm regretting coming away on holiday. Iv kept nothing down today and just feel utterly pants. Miss my shithole house and being able to wear my jammies all day and eat when I want too. It seems to help my sickness if I follow hunger cues quickly. Ah well another 3 days of misery Confused. Can't even have a glass of wine!!!

Mustang27 · 16/07/2017 23:08

Oh god sausages are bad Natsku, lumpy!!!l

Melleebacca · 17/07/2017 00:36

Sorry, can't remember who was talking about ketones. They are a measure of the body breaking down fats for energy, so are mostly used to measure starvation levels (and supposedly great for dieting!), but your body does get used to the level of starvation and ketones in urine drop after prolonged sickness. I'm only a biochemist, so I understand how the body works, but not the hospital system 😊.

Haich - hubby flies out next week, to America for 10 days. So if baby chooses to come, he won't be here for the birth. Chances of an early labour are low though. DD was only one day early, and hubby gets back when I'm 37+5. I'm anticipating going overdue because I'm disliking being pregnant so much!

BlueIsYou · 17/07/2017 08:11

Hi ladies, hope all is (fairly) well Flowers

Off to the maternity unit. No movement since yesterday morning.

Feeling very nervous. Went in back at 20 weekish due to labour pains. They were labour pains and it was a UTI causing it. The UTI was treated in time and thankfully stopped it.

And now he isn't moving Sad no matter what I do?

Melleebacca · 17/07/2017 08:29

Blue - I don't know what to say. I hope there's a good outcome.
I was worried movement wise last week after DD gave bump a decent bruising kick, but after 24hrs (and a hiccup free night) baby was back to wiggling around.
Hoping for you it's a growth spurt and baby is just sleeping more after all the work of growing.
Flowers

Natsku · 17/07/2017 08:35

Oh blue got my fingers crossed for you that everything is ok

Lemondrop99 · 17/07/2017 08:52

Hi all. Bit behind on this thread.

Mustang, sorry your having a rubbish trip Sad It's not nice feeling so rotten away from all your home comforts. We try not to put our lives on hold entirely but then end up feeling ill and stranded away from home. Hope it settles down a bit and you get to enjoy yourself a little bit.

Blue, hoping everything is fine for you and that sleepy baby is just giving you a scare. I've been in twice for reduced movements and it's not nice. Both times everything was fine and there wasn't really any explanation. At my last appointment I mentioned that I hadn't felt much movement at all that day and the day before. She said baby felt like he had flipped around so his spine was facing out and his arms and legs pointed at my spine. This would cushion the kicks and make them harder to feel. Hopefully your baby has done something similar. Let us know how you get on.

HaichM · 17/07/2017 09:04

Mustang: sorry to hear that and hope things get better soon

Blues: hope it turns out to be sleeping or a position issue. Fingers crossed he moves for you soon.

Mellee: I will keep my fingers crossed that baby waits until DH is home but is early too. Though I know what you mean. DS was 3 days early but I'm now convinced I'm going to continue suffering these pains and discomfort and go over this time. Depending on when we finally get the keys, I can so see me going into labour on moving day.

Thinking of you Blue today

BlueIsYou · 17/07/2017 09:30

Thank you all so much Flowers

I will keep you all updated x

Daffodil397 · 17/07/2017 10:09

Hi twodrifters thanks for coming here to support us!
blue thinking of you today. hope all is well with the baby, always scary when movements stop or change and you don't know why Flowers
To all those earlier down this road, especially poor mustang on holiday, I fully sympathise and remember how grim it was a few weeks and months earlier. if it's any comfort im now past the 'misery is never going to end' stage and suddenly arrived at 36 weeks, sickness has lessened overall a bit too, and very soon you will be at this stage too!
Feeling very cheered up today, with the help of dad and stepmum I have tackled massive storage cupboard and found a lot of baby stuff I can reuse for the little one, giving away the very girlie stuff (new baby is going to be a boy) and we've assembled the new baby equipment that's been lying around for a while, feel much more ready to welcome the little one now! Can't quite believe I'm going to have my own little squidgy newborn to look after again in a few weeks. Awww Bear
Anyway wishing you all as comfortable a day as possible xxx

TwoDrifters · 17/07/2017 10:11

Natsku Oddly enough, in the brief half hour window of respite from HG I used to sometimes get in the evening, sausages, mustard and mashed potato was my go-to stodgy carby meal!

Mustang27 Sorry you're missing home, how much longer are you away for? Just keep focussed on climbing back into those comfy pyjamas and snuggling down in your own bed…

BlueIsYou Hope all goes well at the maternity unit, we are all thinking of you. Melleebacca and Lemondrop99 have both shared their encouraging experiences, I hope it's the same for you.

Morning to everyone else! :: waves ::

TwoDrifters · 17/07/2017 10:13

Daffodil397 Morning! Thanks for such an uplifting message and glad to hear you're pretty much ready for your little one! So exciting Smile

27Harper · 17/07/2017 10:29

BlueIsYou I hope everything goes ok for you doll! Thinking of you and sending massive hugs xx

Turned 7 weeks today. I did end up having to be admitted the other day however due to dehydration and my body overheating. It was so scary I was so scared I was going to lose the babies but the little peanuts are ok. Sorry I'm a bit behind on the thread since I've not been checking it for a few days xx

BlueIsYou · 17/07/2017 10:49

Thanks all, just on way to hospital Flowers

Harper I keep on seeing you say peanuts (plural). Are you having twins then?! Grin

27Harper · 17/07/2017 10:56

BlueIsYou haha sorry I thought I mentioned it 😂. Yes We're having double the fun with two little uns this time! I'll have 3 kids under 2. I'm seeing a lot of sleepless nights in my not so distant future. Again, good luck at the doctors doll. The little peanuts are thinking of you too xx

putputput · 17/07/2017 12:15

Hello all,

Apologies - I have not been on here in ages and need to really sit down and go through messages. Although I did see holly's -so completely thrilled for you!!

Urgent request- does anyone know anything that will cover up bruising caused by blood vessels bursting. I had a horrendous episode last night and today my face, neck and chest are now covered in the red and purple rash. Have had it before but never this bad. I have a really important meeting this pm with HR and don't want to influence them!

I've tried my usual foundation and concealer but it does next to nothing.
Picture if it helps:

27Harper · 17/07/2017 12:23

putputput ooh it looks quite sore. Have you tried using a green concealer/pigment? It's directly across from red in the colour wheel so a green pigment will help neutralize the redness. Then put your normal foundation over the top of it xx

putputput · 17/07/2017 12:34

It's surprisingly not sore, just irritating. The lady in boots said the same as you and I've just walked away with some green Clinique stuff and £30 poorer :( Thank you x

27Harper · 17/07/2017 12:37

Lol makeup ain't cheap. I have eczema so I know a bit how you feel. You can also use light green lipstick but granted that isn't an item most people have. Good luck with your meeting doll xx

BlueIsYou · 17/07/2017 13:15

Update for you lovely lot - Baby's heart is beating but is quite jittery so having to be monitored for a while. He isn't moving much via the scan or physical examination, this is a bit worry but the Dr is almost certain it's due to me not taking it easy enough Envy

He says that I'm being too active and seem incredibly tired. There are ketones in my urine too, which he believes is now starting to impact baby.

He insists I'm doing too much physical activity but I'm really not. Just traveling to work as usual, that's about it apart from the odd bit of shopping.

My lovely boy made a fist at me on the scan, perhaps he is quite angst and wants me to sleep/rest Grin

BlueIsYou · 17/07/2017 13:18

putput Please try Estée Lauder double wear!

It's the stuff of the Gods. Masks imperfections and stays on all day. Plus, it doesn't harm my skin. My skin is quite sensitive yet it works great for me.

Very thick though so you may not like it, perhaps mix some moisturiser with it if you like a very very light feel?

Harper I think my little bub got the message from your peanuts! He says hello Harper peanuts Grin

TwoDrifters · 17/07/2017 13:45

How are you feeling now, BlueIsYou, has the doctor set your mind at ease? I hope so.

Oh dear putputput why is it always when we have important or urgent meetings/appointments that these things happen?! Hope the Clinique does the trick!

27Harper · 17/07/2017 13:52

BlueIsYou aww say hi to your little bub from me! Xx
