I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

mum yes I'm worried too. Didn't realise you had lo's at home too which is possibly why you're struggling on but natsku's right, they can come with, you need treatment urgently to look after your own health. Can you rope in a friend to come with? Or if not, yes 999 or taxi if not too extortionate and the good old electronic babysitters for the kids. It's the last thing you feel like doing at this stage, sitting in a&e, having to have treatment etc but things are only going to get worse if you don't get the rehydration urgently and started on some meds that will reduce the symptoms.
So sorry you are going through this while oh away and keep us updated xx

dead thanks for the link- feel quite cheered up actually...and should probably put away iPad now and have a sleep Grin
haitch hang on in there, the drawbridge of the pink castle is already coming down for you!!!
Xx

DeadDoorpost · 13/07/2017 22:18

blue I hope you glared at them for saying that. Considering the hospital has obviously dated you.
And welcome. Sorry for joining us but we're all struggling so you'll fit right in.

DeadDoorpost · 13/07/2017 22:23

pippa so the DH suddenly realised that my belly has grown. Like, overnight almost. He was shocked. Took the photo and we sent it to the family etc and my nn was shocked as well. Parents are happy as larry and DDad was like 'thats my grandson in there!' DH replied with 'that's my sperm in there!' and I lost it. Couldnt stop laughing for ages. Hope yours starts showing soon. But I'd enjoy being able to move freely while you can. I got stuck trying to shift onto my side on the bed earlier. Was in agony.

Don't know how you further-along ladies are coping and I don't envy you at all

Lemondrop99 · 14/07/2017 00:07

Goodness, fast moving thread, I can't keep up

Door, super cute outfit! I love it

Bean, I'm really happy your scan went well Smile

Mum, sorry you've had to join us. I can see you've already had lots of good advice. Definitely need to keep an eye on your hydration and seek a drip before you get to dehydrated. On a slightly lighter note....rice?! Are you sure! Argh, I've sworn off rice as it's the foulest texture ever to throw up! Maybe try a bit of mash and gravy (carbs and salt are usually worth a go).

Welcome abroad Blue (although it's not something to celebrate). Whoever said that has no idea what they are talking about. Plenty of us on this group were still struggling at 22 weeks, and even beyond. are you taking any medication?

I've been feeling rubbish all week and, as mentioned, even called in sick yesterday. I logged on to WAH today but didn't achieve much. It's so hard to concentrate when feeling nauseous. Hadn't throw up all week but had a stealth vomit this evening 😒 By coincidence I was in the bathroom as I needed the loo, this was lucky as there was no way I'd have made it there otherwise and probably would have thrown up on the floor!

pippanippa · 14/07/2017 02:09

Am catching up properly now, wow, lots has happened in a couple of days!

Welcome BluelsYou what an annoying comment from your not so understanding boss! Welcome mum too, I agree with the others and hope you're able to get seen soon, you do sound so unwell that I'm sure hospital will look after you well if you're able to get yourself there (I know easier said than done). Kudos to you for looking after 2 little ones at the same time!

Holly it is brilliant to hear you're feeling better, yay!! Hope things are going well with your lovely new little boy.

Lemon glad you were in the bathroom already, I don't think there's anything crueller than having to clear up after yourself whilst sick.

deaddoor I know what you mean, I should be careful what I wish for, I remember how uncomfortable the bump got last time! I do have a more noticeable bump now though, so we're getting there. It's at the bottom end of the scale, but Dr didn't seem worried, and last time I stayed relatively small and had a big baby.

Mainly posting for a self-indulgent moan, in case any of you are also struggling to sleep. After an ok-ish couple of days I now seem to have tonsillitis. It's ridiculous. Haven't felt this awful in a long time and think my body has just given up this time. The nausea / fever combo is not allowing a restful night sleep / any sleep at all, and I don't even know how to describe how uncomfortable the vomiting is now. Somehow need to survive the next few days of this....

27Harper · 14/07/2017 04:05

Thanks for the warm welcome @LucindaE. I really Hope it does ease off a bit I don't think I can handle this for another ...how many weeks I have left lol bad at maths. 34? 33? I don't know. Baby brain has seaped in I believe xx

27Harper · 14/07/2017 04:07

@pippanippa I almost feel left out lol xx

pippanippa · 14/07/2017 07:30

Oh no, I missed you out 27 Harper, sorry about that I'm awful at keeping up with this thread when it's busy!

Melleebacca · 14/07/2017 08:19

Pippa - you poor thing! The only times I had tonsillitis, I started sleeping like 16hours a day. Hopefully you've got penicillin and it kicks in soon.

Waves to all the newbies. Fingers crossed you all feel better quick snappy!

Off to bed here, feeling super run down and achy despite doing very little. Yay for weekends!

27Harper · 14/07/2017 08:56

@pippanippa lol it's no problem doll. It's quite a busy thread after all xx

Lemondrop99 · 14/07/2017 10:08

Sorry from me too Harper! Waves! This thread can be hard to keep up with sometimes. How are you feeling today?

Massive sympathies Pippa. Tonsillitis is bloody horrible and really the last thing you need Sad

Ah the weekend there already Mellee? Still got Friday to get through here. I wish I could go back to bed too. This has been ramping up all week and I just feel rubbish today and so washed out. I don't want to fall in sick again but I really can't see this being a productive work day either

27Harper · 14/07/2017 10:12

@Lemondrop99 absolutely no worries doll. Currently trying to brace myself to stand up but scared I'll like everywhere! I want to stay in bed but it's absolutely roasting in there but my lovely DH carried me to the couch and gave me a blankie and took care of the little one! I really lucked out with this one lol xx

27Harper · 14/07/2017 10:13

*puke xx

Lemondrop99 · 14/07/2017 10:55

Awww how sweet of him! Yeah standing up is often a bad idea. About that if you can! Hope you're cozied up with a good box set or some trashy movies

Lemondrop99 · 14/07/2017 10:55

*avoid not about

27Harper · 14/07/2017 11:12

@Lemondrop99 well I'm currently catching up on the walking dead. I'm nearly a full season behind. Now I'm terrified that the babies will munch their way out. I may switch to watching cats does countdown! Xx

beanhunter · 14/07/2017 11:21

Well ondansetron seems to be helping here. 2 doses in and not been sick yet today. Still a background queasiness. Fortunate that husband took small girl to school this morning so I can be lazy until pick up. I'm unbelievably relieved to be off work - there's no way I would be coping at all.

27Harper · 14/07/2017 11:23

@beanhunter im really glad to hear youre doing better doll. Gotta love the hubbies xx

beanhunter · 14/07/2017 11:27

Thabks. Yesterday was vile. So narrowly avoided being admitted.

27Harper · 14/07/2017 11:29

Without Metoclopramide I would have been admitted as well. So awful isn't it. Bringing new life into the world is a daunting enough task as it is without having to deal with hyperemesis xx

1984FS · 14/07/2017 11:44

Hi All,
I hope everybody is coping today. I've had a bad day so far after a bad nights sleep. My sickness has been broken up by my first scan though, which was nice. Pleased to see who it is that's causing me all this trouble.
Will attach the scan pic - feel free to guess on gender, I really want to know already.
LucindaE When you are next posting due dates please add me for 27th Jan Smile x

27Harper · 14/07/2017 11:55

What a beautiful little peanut! xx

DeadDoorpost · 14/07/2017 12:09

Yeah pippa I feel like I'm maybe coming down with something as well. Nose is runny, chest feels a bit tight, and I'm trying to keep warm as much as possible without getting too warm if that makes sense,

Lemondrop99 · 14/07/2017 12:51

How funny Harper, I literally started watched the Walking Dead yesterday. I've not seen it before so I'm only 3 episodes into Season 1.

Hope the ondansetron works for you bean. It's the only thing which helped me. But please do keep an eye on the constipation. It's an awful side effect. Glad you're signed off, rest all you can. I was signed off from 6-11 weeks and then literally worked from bed for another 4! I'm now 28 weeks and still WAH full time as I can't commute.

Lovely scan 1984. When you're having such a rough pregnancy, these lovely moments are even more special.

Hope you're not coming down with anything else Door. Like Pippa, you really don't need extra illness on top of this.

I'm currently wallowing in self pity. I stopped for lunch but instead had another stealth vomit (cue throwing everything I was holding and mad dash to the bathroom) and have gone to bed for a bit. Feel so washed out, just want 4pm to come so I can log off and forget about work. So annoyed the vomiting is back.

BlueIsYou · 14/07/2017 13:06

198 I'm guessing girl!

Would anyone like to guess my baby's gender? Sorry to be 'one of those' that jumps on the picture bandwagon once someone else has Blush

I've been kind to myself today, I left this morning (work) early. So sick it's unreal at present.
