I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Woo Holly! So pleased to hear about the sickness going. Wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of cuddles.

Will keep my fingers crossed lemon that that's the case

Lemondrop99 · 07/07/2017 14:48

Yay for no nausea days Door! It's great isn't it Grin I have no doubt it'll be back but I'm going to enjoy it today.

Mammabear13 · 07/07/2017 15:35

Congratulations Holly you have been so amazing coping with so much and I am so pleased the sickness is over. Thinking of you as you adjust to feeding, hope he picks it up quickly & stays a chilled out monkey for you Flowers

And lemon yet, hope work does go that way for you - you certainly don't need the extra stress! Hoping the nausea is staying at bay

LucindaE · 07/07/2017 18:07

Hollyhop17 Congratulations Star GrinFlowersCakeBrew. I am so happy for you, and so glad that the sickness is gone. As others say, you have been brilliant on this thread.

Natsku · 07/07/2017 19:14

Congrats Holly!

HaichM · 07/07/2017 19:14

I'm next! Come on Baby M, don't make me wait 4-6 weeks please!

Melleebacca · 07/07/2017 19:14

Oh, it's so nice to see everyone is having relatively good days!

Congrats holly, hope the feeding and recovery all go well.

Yay lemon for the lack of work stress, that might help with creating more nausea free days!

And yay for the weekend. I've managed to have the best sleep so far this week. Only waking up a few times, and woke up for the day at 6am (much nicer than 4am).

HaichM · 07/07/2017 19:19

Woo Mellee, a good night's sleep makes a world of difference. Hope it means you're going to have a good day. And yay for the weekend! I have a mum 2 be package a friend bought me for my birthday tomorrow afternoon. Not 100% sure what it involves but I think there's a facial and a back massage so I am going to enjoy that tomorrow all being well.

Hope everyone else has nice weekends and the HG behaves.

beanhunter · 07/07/2017 19:55

No you aren't weasledee. I'm not til mid Feb!
Congratulations Holly

Only one vomit today. Much more manageable.

Melleebacca · 07/07/2017 19:58

Haich - woohoo. That sounds great. I have a pregnancy massage voucher that I'm trying to hold off on using until I'm absolutely desperate, got very close this week though.
Hoping baby doesn't make you wait too long either. As soon as I hit 37w, I'm going to be doing all I can to help baby enter the world...no doubt this will mean that I will go overdue. I've got my fingers crossed that the pregnancy massage might have some eviction powers. 😂

weasledee · 07/07/2017 20:17

Oh Bean, welcome to the bottom of the list with me! Ha! Grin

Lemondrop99 · 07/07/2017 20:49

Ergh, creeping up slowly but still feel miles down the list!

No more July babies, but August is looking like an exciting month. Not long at all for you Haich, and Mellee not far behind!

LucindaE · 07/07/2017 21:37

Here we are then, beanhunter - sorry you're last!

Congratulations @Hollyhop17 and great news @Lemondrop09

Everyone seems to be having good days, that's great.

I had my 20 week scan today, was going to find out what I was having but decided not to at the last minute. All looks fine! And I've been sick once since Sunday, so feel like I'm doing well on that from as well, and getting on the way to having a new kitchen fitted.

I vomited today but I reckon that was because I forgot my medication and I mis-swallowed a corn-on-the-cob (if there is a list of grim throw-up foods, please can we add corn?). I'm definitely noticing that doing too much at work means I get nauseous much faster though, hopefully this isn't signalling a hormone surge, and can be managed by slowing down a little.

@LucindaE just to let you know, I'm on the due dates list twice, I'm due on the 23rd

Lemondrop99 · 08/07/2017 00:47

Ah great news Disco. Glad all went well. Getting the 20 week scan over with is a relief, isn't it? It's so nice to feel like we are all "getting there". You're over half way! I admire your patience with the sex, there was no way I could have waited.

NonStopDisco · 08/07/2017 01:37

@Lemondrop99 I fully intended to find out, and then the words "I don't want to know the sex" tumbled out! If I get antsy about knowing, I think I'll book a private scan, there's a place nearby and it's lovely.
I did a little dance yesterday when I hit the 20 week mark, I was so pleased, and I've started to feel the baby moving properly, and I'm a lot happier than I was two weeks ago even!

Natsku · 08/07/2017 07:31

I think I have the same due date as you weasledee its either the 28th or the 27th. DD's birthday is on the 1st of Feb so she's hoping it'll come on her birthday!

Have noticed a pattern that if I sleep badly then I'm more sick the next day but taking a nap seems to help. So glad I'm on my summer holiday now so can nap whenever.

LucindaE · 08/07/2017 10:04

I'm doing well with these dates of late, aren't I? Mistakes galore. NonStopDisco I have amended yours - giving birth twice might not be your idea of fun, for some reason - though escaping from Hyperemesis certainly will. Congratulations on scan. Shock about corn on the cob. I would not recommend foods that come in small, dense form. There seems to be disagreement on this topic - which will certainly cause any non sufferer reading this thread abruptly to stop reading. I had a dreadful experience with pasta bake and would list cooked cheese and pasta as to be avoided at all costs, but some have said no, soda bread - which I didn't think so bad - was dreadful. And the whole issue of reappearing cheap ice cream is one people disagree over. I think it is generally agreed tea is foul.
I hope everyone is managing today.

We haven't heard from a good few people in ages- including the exuberant RubyReins. I wonder how they all are? Often it is a good sign, but RubyReins suffered throughout last time...

Morning all.
Amso glad ive found this thread, not glad that there is others suffering but I am so miserable this morning. Had a really bad throwing up day yesterday so was naively hoping for a good day today. Been violently sick twice this morning already and now cant stop crying as I just feel so sorry for myself. Meant to be going to a friends this afternoon for a little party but I cant see that happening yet. Im 8 weeks on Tuesday and for the last 3 weeks have been so sick, throughout the day and some days really struggling to keep food down. Went to the Drs last Saturday and he gave me prochlorperazine which seemed to work for the odd day but going to go back on Monday and ask for something else as this is really getting me down now.
sorry my first post is such a miserable one but will read back through the whole thread now to get advice
xx

thingymaboob · 08/07/2017 11:46

@user1499505550
Sorry you've found yourself here. I found weeks 6-10 the worst (so far). If prochlorperazine isn't working then go back and push for ondansetron. The pregnancy sickness support charity is great and we are all great on here too (if I do say so myself).

👋 waves to everyone. Sorry I've been quiet recently. Braved going back to work on Monday and I've been exhausted 😩. My husband has been giving me a lift daily and I fall asleep as soon as a get home for 2-3 hours then I'm back in bed. Did buy a theraline pregnant pillow which is the most comfortable thing I've ever had! Highly recommend. We have builders etc in too so whole hour is a pig sty.
Nausea and sickness have reduced this week and I also have a bit of an appetite again. Still vomiting daily but not 30 times a day like a couple of weeks ago. Now I've got horrendous acid indigestion instead!
Sorry I've not replied to everyone individually - the thread has moved so quickly! Hope everyone is doing ok.

beanhunter · 08/07/2017 12:00

User you and I are exactly the same point along. I've found my cyclizine is helping but it makes me sleepy but has reduced the actually vomiting, though not the nausea. Really struggling today as had a super busy week at work (though now off until sept so hoping by then I may feel a little better and at least will be openly pregnant) and my husband is working all weekend so I'm entertaining our dd and I just wasn't to sleep!

Lemondrop99 · 08/07/2017 13:06

Sorry you had to join us User Sad I also found that weeks 6-10 were the absolute worst. You really are in the worse part so hopefully you can only go up at some point. I agree with Thingy, talk to your GP about ondansetron. It's the only thing that worked for me (but try to also get something to help with the horrendous constipation it causes too).
