38 weeks and can't wait!!

Currently 38 weeks pregnant today and cannot wait to meet my little boy! I'm feeling so impatient. I've tried to help bring on labour but nothing seems to be working! I've tried bouncing on my birthing ball, sex, evening primrose oil etc.. also been losing my plug over the past two weeks but haven't had a bloody show. Anyone in the same boat as me?? Would love to hear how everybody's pregnancies are going!

@glitterglitters I convinced my midwife to give me an internal examination to take swabs because of the colour of my discharge, that was on Friday .. she " didn't want to go too far up " & i didn't feel a thing! I also inserted 2 EPO tablets yesterday and again nothing but my good BIG pants ruined !! Isn't late pregnancy WONDERFUL!!

No change for me really, I keep getting cramps and I feel really heavy but that might all be because of the heat! How are you doing? Xx

I can't work out if I'm in pain because of baby....or if I need a poo!! It feels like I'm constipated and is agony, but I sit on the loo and there's nothing there! Oh the joys of pregnancy!!!

Woke up this morning and I've lost some of what I think is my waters! Hospital said to put a pad on and wait an hour and ring back.. rang back and my pad is dry so they said keep my pad on all day and let them know of any changes. Currently sat bouncing on my ball.. any ideas of how to speed things up?!

I think I've just had a show but had a sweep yesterday and can't work out if it's just bloody discharge from that still (had it quite a lot after the sweep yesterday) or a proper show

Let's hope that is the start for you!! My pad is still dry and I haven't leaked anymore.. any idea on when I should ring the hospital back and just let them know that there's been no changes? I'm surprised they haven't wanted me to come in to check if it is my waters

Booked in for induction next Thursday so she officially has 7 days to get out!!

Had 3 sweeps and got another one tomorrow...please baby xx

Oh god @deb1407 nightmare!

My midwife had booked off my due date as she had a family funeral (!!!) but has said she'll pop in to give me a sweep. Bloody hero.

I know for a fact I'm starting to dilate but second baby doesn't mean jack I think.

I'm 38+3 today and boreddddddddd. Reflexology booked for next week when I'm 39+2.

Come on baby!!!

Dilating does means jack - at my last 3 sweeps I've been 1cm, 1-2cm and 2-3 and this is my first baby!! What the?! She got my hopes up at the first one when I was only 37 weeks and already 1cm, she said I'd have a baby soon

Waiting to see what she says tomorrow...maybe I'll be 10cm and ready to push

Oooh at least though if you're 2-3 you won't have long till "active" labour so are less likely to get sent away.

Plus they give you the gas and air at 4cm 👌🏼👍🏼

She's lovely. I'm quite pleased actually as she is a stand in for my midwife (who I adore) but this one I equally do. She's given me all her shifts and said to text her if I go in and she'll try and come to deal with me. I've been so lucky this far with my trust.

Everything crossed you'll have baby in your arms asap.

What I'm confused about is how I'm 2-3 but haven't felt anything? A few mild period type pains over the last few weeks but that's it... 4cm is considered active labour isn't it?

When is your due date? And will it be your first sweep this pregnancy?

Yeah it'll be my first sweep this pregnancy. I had a few with my first but they couldn't "reach" so they were in vain really. Hopefully this time it'll do more 🤞🏼

Hello! I can't believe there hasn't been no baby's yet!! It's my due date today and still no sign of baby.. I thought my waters broke Tuesday, went to be checked and they hadn't but I had a sweep.. most uncomfortable thing ever. Don't know how you've managed to cope having 3 @twinklestars15
Lost some plug yesterday morning and then woke up this morning and had a bloody show, I also have a sweep booked in tomorrow at 1pm which I am dreading because of how much it hurt last time haha.. its all just a waiting game!

I went out for breakfast with dh and dd this morning. Had a good night sleep and I'm having twinges. I've not said anything to dh and sent him off to bed (he's been on night shift) and pretending nothing is happening unless it's really painful. Lol

Fourth sweep done this morning, still 2-3cm but she said waters are bulging which they weren't on Mondays one. zoflora mine haven't been painful, a bit uncomfortable but not too bad. Hope tomorrow's is a bit better for you.

I think I'm having a few little contractions, it's like bad period pain and backache?? I've heard of these happening and then stopping so not getting my hopes up!

How are you doing glitters?

My sweep wasn't actually as bad as I thought.. I'm 2cm dilated and my midwife thinks he'll be here by this weekend so fingers crossed.

I'm ok. It's died off again 😾

When I was told my waters were bulging they broke that day and dd1 came so super promising @TwinkleStars15

So after 4 hours of contractions every 6-7 minutes they've stopped....grrr
