Today I've been admitted to hospital and told my baby will need to be delivered in next 24 hours due to poor growth and almost no waters. Baby is only measuring at 1lb 2oz with a less than 50% chance of survival. My husband and I are devastated and terrified. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thought I would give a quick Bea update. She's been home 2 1/2 months now. She is still on oxygen and will be for quite a while yet. She had a night on paediatrics when they discovered she had a retinal haemorrhage at her eye follow up. It is a rare complication (because it happened 3 months later) from her ROP surgery. It is slowly improving.

She is a happy, chatty, noisy girl that licks everything in sight! She now weighs 9lb2oz and feeding has improved a little. She is on purées once a day and she loves them!

Once again, thank you for all the support you gave us over her neonatal journey.

Just stumbled across this thread. Started reading from the beginning and felt so worried and unsure of the outcome. Skipped forward to this latest post and I can honestly say I shed a few tears of relief and joy for you when seeing that lovely photo of happy Bea.

Huge congratulations to you all and seeing this has genuinely made me so happy.

Okay so I may be a little bit more weepy than usual - pregnant here!

Wonderful 15 year old I know was born in similar circumstances at 24 weeks. Currently doing his GCSEs and has a great future. Believe your baby will be in the positive 50% with all your heart. Best of luck.

Titchy!!! Bea is BEAUTIFUL!!! Grin

I was honestly only thinking about you both before the weekend and intended bumping this thread when I had time. It's made my day to see your update and smiley Bea!

You do realise that we're going to be wanting updates until...oooh...at least Bea's wedding day?

user1488270932 · 30/05/2017 09:26

Just read this whole thread!! What a beautiful wee woman she is!! She's a fighter!! Xxx

Titchypanda · 03/07/2017 12:19

Hi All! Update time!

We have a real chatterbox on her hands! Consultant said she is developing mentally as a normal 8/9 month baby would. Physically she's more like a 4 month baby, so she gets a bit frustrated when she can't do things.

She's now 10lb and her oxygen has come down to 0.2.

We have started a non profit in her name. If you want to have a look, we're on Facebook.

She's very cheeky and definitely still looks like her Daddy!
