Jen I haven't called the MW about it because I've been getting by as best as I can! It's just like you mentioned, move around until I can go!!
No contractions to write home about Sad I'm getting so fed up.

That's great news! Again - I'll be last for sure Envy

I've been losing mucus plug literally for nearly 3 weeks now. Tried to ring up about my induction date and they said it should have been booked at my consultant and they have no record of it! Argh!!

LibertyBelles · 29/01/2016 13:50

If you're dilated, anterior and effaced can they just break your waters then? Rather than all the artificial hormones to get labour going??

oneconfusedchick · 29/01/2016 14:04

That's what my midwife said... Basically if they can break my waters then they will and skip the pessary stage

LibertyBelles · 29/01/2016 14:06

Cool oneconfusedchick that seems (in my head) to be more natural and less intervention that the pessary and drip which id rather avoid if possible! We'll see, all depends how my midwife appointment goes on Monday and how dilated etc I am I think Confused

oneconfusedchick · 29/01/2016 15:08

Fingers crossed for you. Yes for me given what happened last time I feel happy that I will at least be given some time to see if I go into labour naturally after the waters breaking and avoiding the pessary is ideal as like I've mentioned before it didn't really work for me and meant an extra 1.5 days pre labour in hospital being monitored frequently and with little sleep!!

LibertyBelles · 29/01/2016 15:14

Fingers crossed for you too oneconfusedchick

LibertyBelles · 29/01/2016 16:40

Think I'm going to really try and push for as late an induction as possible (42 weeks) as I've had a low risk pregnancy and I really want a natural birth in the pool at the birth centre! I just need to tell myself that the impatience is normal and a bit longer won't make much difference

ampersandand · 29/01/2016 20:54

Just a quick update, still here, still painful irregular contractions between 5-12 minutes, had 2 stops of half an hour or so. That's 26 hours of this now, getting pretty tired now. I thought second labours were supposed to be quick and easy!

MaisieDotes · 30/01/2016 07:52

Hi everyone, 40+3 today.

I had my acupuncture yesterday, and lost two lots of mucus (before and after acupuncture). Loads of BHs last night, but nothing majorly out of the ordinary.

Feel as though I will be pregnant forever Sad

Any news anyone?

mrsjskelton · 30/01/2016 09:31

No news Sad into day 4 of contractions, just trying to stay comfortable until induction tomorrow. I was all for natural but after all this I just want knocking out and the delivery over with. I'm so tired. 40+11

oneconfusedchick · 30/01/2016 09:44

Had some tightening but nothing major. I'm booked it for induction at +13 on 8th Feb if nothing happens before! I felt like you did Mrs with my first. I wanted a birth centre birth etc and ended up getting induced at +11 but was pretty fed up by then! They are letting me have 2 whole extra days - would prob go in though if that was an option as I am fed up with being a beached whale! At least hopefully this time I will skip straight to them breaking my waters and not have to go down pessary route. Have another sweep booked tues
Xx

LibertyBelles · 30/01/2016 09:45

Good luck tomo mrsjskelton! I have been losing mucus plug for 2 weeks now, TMI but I can't believe anyone's body produces this much it's ridiculous!!!! Nothing going on here, tried a curry last night which gave me and 'I need a poo' tummy ache but nothing else!!! Have decided to wait until 42 weeks to be induced and try and go naturally before then - I think baby is LOT - any ideas for turning her so her head engages, I think this is what's stopping me going into labour!!!

mrsjskelton · 30/01/2016 09:48

I believe they do a sweep before induction anyway - I'd rather be in hospital and ask for gas/air to cope etc than have to go home after my midwife. My cervix is soft so shouldn't be long after.
Liberty to get baby engaged, most say keep upright and lots of walking!

OP posts:
LibertyBelles · 30/01/2016 10:01

Thanks mrsjskelton! I am super annoyed she's not engaged - I spend all my time upright except when I'm exhausted and then I lie on my left! I'm either bouncing on a ball or walking around - engage already baby

ampersandand · 30/01/2016 14:07

Little baby ampers born at 7:18am 7lbs7oz
Got to 5cm dilated with the continued irregular contractions so didn't believe I was even in labour. Managed to 8cm gas and air then had an epidural, small epesiotomy but recovering and feeding well :)
Good luck to every one else on here Flowers

LibertyBelles · 30/01/2016 14:23

Congrats ampersand how overdue were you in the end?

MaisieDotes · 30/01/2016 14:27

Oh congrats ampersand! Smile Flowers

ampersandand · 30/01/2016 15:02

Thanks both :) I was 40+4

oneconfusedchick · 30/01/2016 18:54

Congrats! :)

mrsjskelton · 30/01/2016 20:52

Congratulations ampersand! Thanks I'm really pleased for you because I type this from a hospital bed Smile finally been taken in, not quite in active labour but 3cm with very irregular and extremely painful contractions - lots of co-codamol overnight and breaking my waters in the morning if nothing happens!

LibertyBelles · 30/01/2016 21:05

Yay good luck mrsj let us know how it goes

MaisieDotes · 31/01/2016 00:25

Good luck mrsj!

LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 03:47

Argh - having a panic tonight that if I keep waiting something will go wrong with baby girl! Going to talk it through with midwife on Monday, I know things can go wrong in induction too of course! Wish she would just be born already!
