Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 10:12

oneconfusedchick I've just noticed we must have been due on neighbouring days - I was due on the 25th, were you the 26th?

oneconfusedchick · 31/01/2016 11:48

Yes! I was due 26th. My first DC was born 13 days past due date after 2 day induction. Hope your ok? I've noticed some slightly bloody mucus this morning - usual aches and pains but nothing major just want baby now. Not taking this possible show as a sign though as I have heard it can happen weeks before labour!

LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 11:59

Could be promising oneconfusedchick I've got midwife tomo so my plan is to get cervix checked and get bishops score/do a sweep then based on bishops score decide when to book induction. Ie if highly unfavourable cervix still get booked in ASAP and if likely to go naturally book in for 42 weeks! I CAN'T STAND THE WAITING!!

oneconfusedchick · 31/01/2016 12:23

I know! I think that's a good idea about deciding after midwife - sounds like your taking a sensible approach. I don't think I've ever had a bishop score done - what is one?

LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 12:24

I've never had one either - but it's basically a measure of a load of things like station of baby, position of cervix, effacement etc all added together - I think if you get over 8 it means spontaneous labour soon and if it's below 5 there's no real chance

MaisieDotes · 31/01/2016 15:14

I was due on 27th. They don't even offer you a sweep here until you're at least 40+12 Sad

I've no experience of this as my other two babies came early.

I'm seeing the midwife on Tuesday but she's already told me it will just be a routine appointment, blood pressure, urine, Doppler, palpation, that's it.

LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 15:30

No sweep until 40+12 that seems weird!! It was my understanding that sweeps don't work anyway unless you're ready to go! Odd! Fingers crossed you don't have to wait that long maisiedotes

Sunflower2016 · 31/01/2016 15:45

Well was due 26th and still here Sad .. So ready to have this baby now .. Congratulations to all that now have their little ones Smile ..
Brew and Cake to all that are still waiting alongside me Thanks x

MaisieDotes · 31/01/2016 16:04

I know liberty I'm in Ireland and they have different guidelines here. They do nothing until 40+12 and then they scan you and sometimes give you a sweep Confused Then they induce at 40+14.

I really hope I don't have to wait until then too! I went to acupuncture on Friday and I'll go again after my midwife appt on Tuesday. Acupuncturist said she's never done more than 3 sessions on someone to induce labour and very often 2 is enough.

I'm praying I go before Tuesday though! Thanks for the Brew sunflower! I need it!

LibertyBelles · 31/01/2016 16:26

Good luck to both of you

oneconfusedchick · 31/01/2016 16:44

Good luck - I had 2 sessions of accunpuncture with my first when I was overdue but they didn't do anything (I've heard they can be quite effective though so don't take my experience as a given!) that's weird they don't offer sweeps until +12 but then again mine didn't work with my first so maybe they have some sense!!

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 11:24

How's everyone? 40+5 today here.

liberty are you going to the midwife today?

2ManySweets · 01/02/2016 12:25

Hello guys, still here and still without either a mobile login or a baby for that matter. 40 + 3 today and tiredddddddddddddd.

How people get to 40 + 10, 11, 12 etc beats me. I was ready to savage anyone who looked at me the wrong way yesterday and my poor DP was just doing all he could to cheer me up to no avail.

Am also overly anxious about baby's movements, Whilst I don;t think her movements have reduced per se she definitely has less room in which to move which may explain why things feel different; i.e. less "elbowey"? Anyone else got this too?

oneconfusedchick · 01/02/2016 13:18

Hi ! I am still here at 40+6. Have another sweep booked for tomorrow. I have had a lot of yellowish discharge (tmi sorry) this morning hoping that's a good sign. Am booked for induction next Monday. I feel pretty achey and fed up - the last week is always the hardest as I recall from my last! At least just a week for me left hopefully! In terms of movement I would speak to midwife if you are concerned or if movement has changed a lot - I'm still getting elbowed etc but obviously there is less room so movements might have changed a bit? If your worried they will just monitor you for a bit. It could help ease your mind xx

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 13:31

Hi 2many I'm in the same boat re the movements, I keep worrying that I haven't felt much / anything for a while but then if I have a cold drink and concentrate for a while I do feel them.

The movements are definitely different though and not as "in your face" as they were even up to a couple of weeks ago.

I'm constantly thinking about it though.

2ManySweets · 01/02/2016 17:25

I swear to god I have never wished for a gussetful of mucus like this ever before in my life. What I would give for a "show" right now - honestly.

I have pliates tonight; that usually makes baby happy and wriggly. If there are no/few wriggles then I'm away to the hospital.

I ate a ton of food early on today and haven't moved about that much. I can feel movement but it feels "muted". Maybe it's just that my stomach is quite literally in the way. Either way she's got until 8pm to give me more elbow else I'll have to go get checked, nerves are bloody shredded.

You know, I never "got" the moaning of pregnant women in the final few weeks of pregnancy. I get it now 100% - the combination of tiredness, impatience, and to be quite frankly honest fear that it could all go tits up at the final hurdle is a very mentally draining combination.

I just want to see my baby. (self pitying moan over).

2ManySweets · 01/02/2016 17:26

plus - anyone else's emotional state zoomed off the chart since the 40+0 mark?

Blush
oneconfusedchick · 01/02/2016 18:16

Yea to emotional state!! I've been getting a lot more emotional this past week. Have a sweep tomorrow and interested to see what the midwife says as to whether I have become more dilated etc don't really think I have but who knows! Baby is getting notice served on Monday regardless! X

Sunflower2016 · 01/02/2016 18:37

40+6 here and still waiting Sad..
Becoming very nervous as I'm approaching induction for the 3rd time .. I feel like I could cry one minute and then go into an impatient rage the next .. Needless to say I don't think I'm too fun to be living with at the mo ..
I've got midwife tomorrow, she is going to try and attempt a sweep but why oh why do I already hear the words - "no where near ready yet" Confused just not my luck that all these pains are doing nothing ..
I think she is booking my induction tomorrow too - so will have a day to start the process I guess ..
Sorry for the negative post but am so mentally exhausted, so tired from waking up at 2am and not sleeping from that point and the pain Sad
My little madams movements have become so painful, I could cry at times when she pushes downwards .. Thanks

oneconfusedchick · 01/02/2016 18:50

Sorry to hear that. I also have a sweep booked tomorrow is so disheartening this last week isn't it. I've logged on to Facebook to see my friend who was due in Feb gave birth last week... A friend who was due 10th Jan had her baby 22nd dec feels like so long ago!

Sunflower2016 · 01/02/2016 18:52

Totally know where your coming from Oneconfusedchick .. I was one of four pregnant on Facebook - with my due date being the earliest and they have all had their babies Sad - just a tad dis - heartening Thanks

LibertyBelles · 01/02/2016 18:57

Beatrix Florence Blacker 10 pounds 2 born at 1.52pm today - laboured in the pool but out to give birth, had to be cut as she was so big but all natural xxx 41 weeks exactly

Sunflower2016 · 01/02/2016 19:09

Congratulations Libertybelles SmileThanks

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 19:19

Congrats liberty and well done! Smile Flowers Lovely names!

sunflower I feel the exact same. I'm so sick of walking around in pain all the time. Baby has decided to go a bit mental tonight and is pushing out on my left side, it's so uncomfortable. Also a bit worrying if I'm honest.

Every afternoon and and evening for the past week or week and a half I've been getting strong BHs which then go nowhere. My entire undercarriage area is totally swollen and going to the loo is killing me. I need to go 500 times a day or so it seems.

I'm also in a terrible mood all the time, I swing between crying at the most pathetic thing possible (usually an ad on tv) to being really snappy and impatient.

I am a joy to be around Hmm
