Congrats blerg

mrsjskelton · 28/01/2016 10:02

Blerg many congratulations! Thanks

I did say I'd be last 40+9 today - contractions since 2am Wednesday and keep dying off so I'm sore and tired today.

That's crap mrsj

Brew and Cake for you.

I only 40+1 and totally fed up, can't imagine how you must feel. Everyone else seems to be going early!

I have pains on and off too, but they're just BHs really. I have pains up my backside today because I think my body just wanted to remind me that it is possible to be more uncomfortable than I already am Grin

ampersandand · 28/01/2016 14:09

I saw the midwife this morning, (40+2) my cervix is around 1-2cm dilated but still quite far back.3/5ths engaged.

I had a stretch and sweep and have been getting a few BHs since but that's no different than normal for me.

I've been booked in for an induction on the 7th Feb and another appointment with the midwife for next week.

I don't think this baby is anywhere near ready to come out...

Jenjen86 · 28/01/2016 14:20

Congrats Blerg! Glad it was a nice easy labour for you as well, that's all any of us can ask for!
I had my stretch and sweep this morn as well, again 1-2cm dilated. She said cervix was very low and she could feel baby's head while she did it. In my notes it said 2/5 in the relation to brim column but I'm not sure what means.
I think I am feeling more cramping that usual but more than likely just looking for signs haha. She seemed fairly positive that things were moving in the right direction and said he might be here this weekend but she also said my cervix needs to soften more so I'm not really sure. I also know they can be totally wrong either way anyway but I am staying hopeful! :)

olrose · 28/01/2016 16:06

cant wait for baby to get here! too excited, feel like shes never going to arrive at this rate!!

ampersandand · 28/01/2016 19:15

How are you feeling now Jen ?

I've been having strong BHs for the past 2 hours varying between 8-15 minutes. All very irregular but painful enough to take my breath away. Still not convinced anythings starting though.

Jenjen86 · 28/01/2016 19:27

That sounds really positive ampersand! You might be getting a Friday baby! Grin
I've not felt anything since earlier so I gave a feeling he may be a little while yet but I'm trying to stay relaxed to help things along. Hopefully some good news all round soon...!

LibertyBelles · 28/01/2016 19:53

Nothing happening here at all - 40+3 - bored of waiting. Been for a walk and a swim today but nothing going on. Still not sure I've ever felt any BHs Sad

Jenjen86 · 28/01/2016 20:01

I don't feel braxton hicks either I think, I only know I have them if my tummy is hard.
I think you will just wake up one night very soon liberty and it all will have started from nowhere. Hope you are staying positive Flowers

LibertyBelles · 28/01/2016 20:02

Thanks jenjen I'm really hoping so! Feeling quite positive ATM yeah, just assuming I'm going to have to be induced which sucks a lot as I really wanted a water birth in the MLU

Jenjen86 · 28/01/2016 21:00

Yeah I'm exactly the same, I want a water birth desperately so really want to avoid induction. Are they going to try again for a sweep next week?

LibertyBelles · 28/01/2016 21:21

I'm assuming so jenjen - and I obv really hope it works!!

ampersandand · 28/01/2016 23:12

They're now 4-8 minutes apart lasting a minute, still strong and painful but irregular. Taken paracetamol and gonna try get some sleep, my pessimistic side is telling me this could go on for days...!

Hoping it all starts off for you both soon Jen and Liberty.

Jenjen86 · 28/01/2016 23:26

Good luck ampersand! It sounds like you are much farther along than me. Good idea get some sleep and some food if you can and I hope to wake up to some.happy news Smile

mrsjskelton · 29/01/2016 07:18

I'm in the same boat ampersand I've been struggling with long painful contractions since yesterday and just as I've called the hospital, got a shower - all stopped.
I'm so pissed off, been going since 2am Wednesday Angry

40+2 today... I am going to acupuncture at 10.30am.

Praying that it starts something!

ampersandand · 29/01/2016 07:52

MrsJ Oh no, I really feel for you. I've managed 3.5hrs sleep altogether and although the 'contractions' have been getting more intense they keep speeding up then slowing down.

I'm about to get in the the bath now whilst my dp has had to take the day off work to look after our teething grouchy 17month old. The joys!

Do you think it has anything to do with baby's position? I know mines back to back and is refusing to turn despite my efforts :(

ampersandand · 29/01/2016 08:45

Good luck Maisie

MaisieDotes · 29/01/2016 08:48

Thanks amper

I have a 17mo too- he was back to back and I have a feeling this one will be as well. I've spent the whole pregnancy worrying about back labour and now I'm just thinking: whatever! Bring it on!

mrsjskelton · 29/01/2016 10:25

No, normal position Sad I think she's massive and they haven't realised yet. That's my instinct. I think bladder/bowel is also an issue, I can barely go to the loo (sorry if TMI) so I'm wondering if that's the issue. Not had a contraction since about 7am. Just got stomach ache now because my stomach is so bloated Sad

OP posts:
mrsjskelton · 29/01/2016 10:26

I'm forgetting that she's 10 days overdue - I was 9lbs3oz 3 days late. I'm a little worried!

OP posts:
Jenjen86 · 29/01/2016 12:59

Have you called your midwife mrsj? I had a few days this week where I could've wee at all, I manged to where I leant right forwards but that was difficult with bump but then it went away so I guess it was baby's position. Any further contractions?
I have had absolutely nothing since my sweep, very disappointed but hey ho he will be here soon I'm sure x

oneconfusedchick · 29/01/2016 13:21

Just had a sweep 40+3 - she couldn't do that much altho I was 1-2cm dilated which is good - means I don't have to be booked into induction until +13 as I should hopefully just be able to have waters broken without needing he pessary! That would be awesome for me as the pessary was so slow and barely worked in 36 hours last time! Have booked another sweep for 41 weeks.

Jenjen86 · 29/01/2016 13:46

Well I just lost my mucas plug....taking it as a good sign but I know it can happen weeks or days in advance but it came.out just after a strong stomach pain so here's hoping!!
