Thanks 2many - I'm taking 500mg magnesium to help with foot cramps - is there a risk of ODing on vitamins? Dumb question.

2ManySweets · 21/02/2016 11:23

Don't know re magnesium but you can't OD on Vit C (your body emits the excess in your waste) Star

goodnightdarthvader1 · 21/02/2016 12:54

Thanks x

purplepineapples · 21/02/2016 21:27

Can't believe I'm in for induction tomorrow. Really nervous and scared tbh. My DS is away to the grandparents and don't know when I'll see him next!

Going to try and have an early night but can't see me sleeping much - having all sorts of irrational thoughts!

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

fififolle · 21/02/2016 21:38

All the very best for tomorrow, you're finally going to meet your baby! I hope you manage to have a good sleep xx

HandbagFan · 22/02/2016 01:17

Baby Handbag (the purse?) arrived on Sunday evening after three days of failed induction attempts and ended up as a section. He's absolutely perfect and thanks to the painkillers I can't yet feel anything to do with my wound.

Really challenging day in so many ways - my needle phobia has been pushed to the limits and it turned into a real drama -but he's here and safe at 42+1.

Good luck to everyone else! I really have been the exception rather than the rule and even after a rough time of it I'm happy, safe and will recover in a few weeks. If I made it through I'm sure anyone else can too!

purplepineapples · 22/02/2016 06:37

Congratulations Handbag ! Wonderful news! Flowers It's been a long process for you!

I'm not feeling too bad this morning, slept okay and a bit nervous - thought I'd be a wreck! Just want my baby soon! Hopefully I'll have some good news to share with you all soon x

KatyK1980 · 22/02/2016 06:56

Congrats handbag. Another needle phobic here so you have my sympathy.

A friend who is 39 weeks had her waters go this morning, and I'm still waiting. Grr! Sweep number 2 today Hmm

My beautiful boy arrived in the early hours of this morning. Was a smooth delivery and he's currently chirping away beside me Smile

I'm absolutely exhausted but too wired to sleep! (got my own room too!)

ToffeeForEveryone · 23/02/2016 18:21

I'm 40 + 2 with DC 1 today and starting to get verrrry grumpy!

Have had no noticeable symptoms / twinges, 3-4 instances of braxton hicks over the past few weeks but apart from that, nothing.

I am feeling more gigantic by the day, becoming really immobile as I get tired and uncomfortable standing up. I'm also really itchy (although I have been tested for OC and it came back negative) and have pregnancy-related tinnitus which has got much worse and louder over the last 48 hours.

I want to get this over with!

Next midwife appointment is booked for Sunday (41 weeks exactly), but it's just a regular appointment not a sweep. At appointment last week midwife basically said sweeps don't really do anything unless you are already ready to go into labour anyway Confused. Is this right? Wondering if I should insist on having one or is there really no point if I'm not having any other twinges etc yet?

Getting DH to buy all the fresh pineapple he can find on his way home from work and making a spicy stir fry for tea. Any tried and tested ideas how I can get things moving? dear god please not sex, I'm the size of a house

fififolle · 23/02/2016 19:46

Hi Toffee sorry to disturb you but I don't think any of the techniques work- they just act as distraction. We've been going for long walks every day but still no sign of baby- who was due 1 week ago. I've had 2 sweeps that have done nothing, I have a third booked for tomorrow. Apparently they only work if your body is ready to go in to labour within the next 24 hours.

KatyK1980 · 23/02/2016 20:21

Congratulations purplepineapple!! Fantastic news, hope you're doing OK.

Hope all you other ladies don't have too long to wait.

I tried pretty much all of the ideas about how to get labor started...but nothing worked for me! Hope you have more luck toffee

fififolle · 23/02/2016 20:27

toffee sorry to disappoint you...

babybat · 24/02/2016 23:40

Congratulations pineapples!

Baby Rosie was born today by c-section at 42+2. Started induction on Tuesday, but baby turned back to back and managed to move up while I was contracting (over 24 hrs!). Started the drip with an epidural, but her heart rate dropped so the consultant ended up recommending a section. She's 9lb 13oz and gorgeous :-)

purplepineapples · 25/02/2016 06:14

Congratulations babybat ! Well done Flowers

I'm currently cuddling my little angel and it's amazing. I'm totally in love.

purplepineapples · 25/02/2016 06:14

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

fififolle · 25/02/2016 07:27

Congratulations babybat!

Cosmiccreepers203 · 25/02/2016 18:12

Can I join? Not technically overdue, yet! Due date is today, so I can't see her making it in time. Have been anxious to get going since wk 37. Am bored on maternity leave, don't want to go too far and too clumsy/ heavy to do stuff around the house. I've had a tension headache for the past week from worrying. Gah! This is torture.
