chick good luck. Counting down until I can rid myself of this fecking tampon thing. Speaking it didn't hurt going in but once it started to weave its magic and I realised I've not had a poop for three days that's when the heavy dull ache began (7/8 last night).

If I'm not 9cm dilated or something I'll have a fit. Thought I could handle this. It seems not. Has totally made me rethink pain relief plans.

Ps: I never got a sweep. Cervix was more closed than the borders of Guernsey to a Syrian asylum seeker.

2manysweets just do whatever you feel right for you. I had pethadine with my daughter because I was in so much pain but managed just gas and air with son. Every labour is different x

Pessary didn't really hurt. Imagine someone else inserting a tampon for you - not the most pleasant of experiences but equally not awful. I just got weighed and have put on 45 pounds during this pregnancy wow lol!

Has anyone else been getting headaches?? This past week or so I've been getting really bad headaches. Blood pressure fine. It's unusual for me and very annoying!

Not sure about headaches Hun. Would speak to midwife and get checked ASAP x

Got midwife tomorrow. Going to tell her again I am not going in on Saturday for induction and I'll be turning up on Monday instead. Probably go down like a lead balloon but I'm not having two kids on the same bday.

I am ok- still here. Almost coming to the end of my 24 hours with pessary. Soon I will find out if it has done anything! I'm thinking plan is to break my waters if possible. Leave me a few hours and if no contractions then the lovely drip(!) this labour is turning out to mimic my first! The midwife said that she would recommend an epidural if i am only say 2cm dialated as the drip can be so harsh and easier put in sooner rather rather than later. Exactly what I was told last time. Sounds sad but I find it nice to be 'recommended' an epidural rather than just feeling like I've gone straight for one myself! Anyway will hopefully update at some point! Just about to be monitored for the umpteenth time :)

They were begging me to have an epidural because I was also only 2cm. But I refused. Don't know why but I have this bad feeling about the epidural lol I must be mad. Do whatever works for you Hun and good luck. I keep checking to see what's going on. Wishing you all the best.

Hello! Just wondering if I can join you? 40+4 today (well, yesterday) and rather fed up! Failed sweep this afternoon and induction booked for late next week...

Hi Handbag Could the sweep not be done? Or do you mean it hasn't worked so far? If the latter my midwife told me that if it works it will take up to 48hrs so there's time yet.

So I'm officially overdue at 40+1... Did not foresee this after having my first baby 2 weeks early! Don't think this one wants to come out

40+6 today, I'm seeing midwife at 11 for a possible sweep, bit nervous...

purplepineapple I know what you mean, my daughter wasn't early but was only 3 days late so I really thought my second would come sooner! I wasn't expecting this!

Let us know how you get on KatyK ! Mine's booked for Monday if I decide to get it. Was totally against it but now thinking I might just try it! Getting fed up.

Midwife just left. She couldn't do the sweep due to baby's position. She said the cervix felt favourable ('soft and open') and so she reckons the sweep would've worked if she could have done it! Am pretty disappointed

Booked in for induction on Wednesday if he doesn't arrive by then...

purplepineapples she couldn't get to my cervix - I scored 1/16. No sign of anything happening soon. All seems very disappointing and am in a grump today.

Well I was induced Sunday afternoon, and Willow Rose arrived at 2.50am Wednesday morning weighing 9lb 14oz ..
Good luck to you all that are still waiting - and what I will say is make time to rest rest rest before the big day xx xx

Florence Rose was born at 6:24am, weighing 7lb 8oz, beating her scheduled induction today by 6 minutes after a very fast 3hr labour

KatyK I went for a walk today too hoping it would kick start something but nothing so far. My midwife said to keep active and I haven't stopped today so fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath! More ball bouncing tonight!

Handbag I'm sorry she couldn't do it And that you're not feeling great as a result. I had a rough morning and had a good ole cry to my DP about it as I'm really anxious about being overdue. I was going to phone the midwife for reassurance but don't want to waste their time. I just want the baby here safe and well!

Went on for my term +10 appointment today. They got the bad news out of the way first - earliest induction slot available? Wednesday! I'll be +16. Booked in for hospital checks on Sunday and Tuesday in between as they're making me go so far over.

On the good news side, trace was fine, movements plentiful, everything on the growth scan fine and had another sweep. I'm 3-4cm so no idea why I'm not in labour yet. I was only 5cm when i was deemed in fully blown labour last time.

Yayyyyy I have my baby at last!! Born Thu 11 Feb via CS after 3 failed prostaglandin treatments and a cervix deemed monstrously unfavourable.

I love her so much, and I would say to anyone scared of a CS don't be.

So happy, so tired x
