oneconfusedchick · 08/02/2016 22:39

I'm in Sheffield x

KatyK1980 · 09/02/2016 08:13

oneconfusedchick hope you have more success at the hospital today! Good luck xx

Hope everyone else is doing OK! Flowers

I'm 40+4 today...still waiting...getting more and more worried about how big the baby will be!!

SchnitzelvonKrumm12 · 09/02/2016 09:24

Hope everyone is doing okay Flowers

I'm still here at 41+3 - induction booked for Thursday, but so nervous for it! Hoping we'll have some positive induction stories shortly to reassure me.

How is it even possible to have DC1 prematurely at 32+4, and then go 10+ days overdue with DC2?!! Hmm

2ManySweets · 09/02/2016 09:37

I'm not gonna lie; I'm bored out of my teeny tiny mind now.

I'll be two weeks over end of this week, feels like a month!

I find it really interesting that the NHS can move so slowly in a way when you go overdue, and then for most trusts, as soon as you hit 41+5 its "OMFG ALL SYSTEMS GO THIS BABY HAS TO COME OUT NOT A DAY LATER THAN 42W" and that "alarm" doesn't leave a lot of time for things to get moving and informing the patient!

I've been bitching and moaning about this on several threads this week; I'm boring myself Grin

These babies need to get a move on! Wink

KatyK1980 · 09/02/2016 09:43

Hi SchnitzelvonKrumm12 Not too long to wait for you now, I have a sweep booked for Thursday so hoping things might get moving for me then too (although I hear mixed stories about sweeps!)! Strange how each pregnancy can be so different isn't it? To have your first so early and second so late!

Finding this thread a bit of a comfort as I keep feeling like everyone in the world is havong their babys except me! Nice to be able to talk to other mums who are having to wait too! xx

KatyK1980 · 09/02/2016 09:46

2manysweets I'm right there with you with regards to being bored and I'm only 40+4, I'm going to lose my mind if things don't happen soon! Are you booked for induction at end of week?

SchnitzelvonKrumm12 · 09/02/2016 09:59

KatyK - Both my sweeps were unsuccessful, I'm afraid to say. Sad At the first one I was very favourable, 2-3cm dilated and membranes bulging, too! Midwife even said whilst on the phone booking my induction, that I won't need to induced. And here I am 10 days later! Which worries me that induction is going to be a long process because my body doesn't want to go into labour for some reason.

I'm bored too 2Many Flowers I also feel so guilty I can't do the things I would usually do with my 3 year old and she asks everyday how long until the baby is coming which makes me feel even worse! Sad

oneconfusedchick · 09/02/2016 10:00

I'm 42 weeks today. Phoned hospital and no one to tell me to come in but then they called back 15 mins later and told me to come in for obs and hopefully induction today, I was meant to be done yesterday but no one in - fingers crossed for today. X

SchnitzelvonKrumm12 · 09/02/2016 10:05

oneconfusedchick Fingers crossed and good luck to you! Flowers

oneconfusedchick · 09/02/2016 11:36

No room at the inn again today - I am just shocked this is happening again! I mean they just must have a massive back log of women to be induced now!

KatyK1980 · 09/02/2016 12:00

Oh no oneconfusedchick that's terrible! Flowers
Are they monitoring you? Will the junior doctor strike affect your chances tomorrow? Surely they can't let you go much longer? xx

oneconfusedchick · 09/02/2016 12:44

I've had some monitoring who knows about the strike. They have called all local units and no capacity. I am number 2 on the induction list. I've had a good cry to the doctor and midwives have been nice but nothing they can do.

oneconfusedchick · 09/02/2016 12:45

They want me to go home but my husband wants me to stay here

KatyK1980 · 10/02/2016 07:36

How's everyone doing today? Any happy news?!
oneconfusedchick did you end up going home yesterday?

I'm 40+5 today. Fed up of people asking 'is there any sign yet?' What sign are they expecting? Do they think he'll text before he arrives?? NO I DON'T KNOW WHEN HE'LL BE HERE!!

Feel like my body has forgotten how to go into labor. It was fine when I had my daughter 14 years ago so what's up with it now?! This baby is big and ready, get it out!

KatyK1980 · 10/02/2016 08:15

oneconfusedchick just seen your post on another thread, sounds like things are happening for you now! That's great, good luck! Flowers

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 08:57

Hello all!

I'm 40wks today with DC2. Getting fed up now. DC2 was 2 wks early so I was totally spoiled with him!

My DP is getting really fed up now, poor him Hmm He's booked his time off from next week and said he might just take it coz he wants to finish. Wtf?! I was like eh no, I'll need you the other end especially if I end up with a section or a longer hospital stay. So he's away to work today dejected and to see what he can do about his shifts Grin He's under some illusion the baby will definitely be here by Monday. I how do but can't guarantee it!

My midwife advised all the old tricks to kick start labour so I've done the sex, eating a curry and ball bouncing so far... She suggested raspberry leaf tea so I bought it but then looked into it further and it's really not recommended if you're overdue and haven't been drinking until then so bad advice from her!

Sigh. Have a sweep scheduled for Monday and induction the following week. Don't want either...

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 08:59

Excuse the typos!

NotSpeaking · 10/02/2016 09:07

You don't have to have a sweep. I've refused mine purple They never worked for me before and found them too intrusive.

Had a dream last night I lost my mucus plug. I thought it was real but it isn't. Feeling upset today now. 41+2 today with baby number 3. I'm in so much pain in my back and pelvis I could just cry.

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 09:11

I stated a thread on Monday NotSpeaking about experiences of sweeps to help me decide whether to have one or not. I wasn't keen for those reasons you mention - low success rate and intrusive. But now I'm considering giving it a try as I've read on here to many induction horror stories. Really wish I hadn't!!

My midwife has said it's up to me and I can decide at the appt on Monday so I'll see. I was considering letting her examine me anyway to see if anything's going on and favourable.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain Flowers Do you have an induction booked?

KatyK1980 · 10/02/2016 09:23

I have a sweep booked for tomorrow...I'm a bit scared from all the mixed experiences people have had but am kind of willing to try anything to get things moving...I'm also really scared of having to be induced!

NotSpeaking Hope you don't have to wait too much longer Flowers

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 09:33

That's my train on thought on both too KatyK

2ManySweets · 10/02/2016 09:59

Hello all.

Propess put in yesterday at 3pm. Hurts like fuck. Random contractions 5 hrs later. Then nothing. Lots and lots of pain scattered throughout this past 18h but it's easing off a bit. Managed 2 sleeps with hot water bottle jammed between thighs.

Back in at 3pm to get Propess tamponny thing removed. Not keen to have any more inductiony things shoved up there. Feel so sore and achy.

Hoping they will take into account I'm 42w Friday and utter the magic words "CS".

This is from someone who didn't want a CS. If I still have an epically low Bishops Score/v v closed cervix today I'll lose my mind.

Wish I had a better report to give. Just want to see my daughter (who is happily wriggling away and loving it in there).

Fucking OW.

KatyK1980 · 10/02/2016 10:20

2ManySweets That all sounds hard going! Fingers crossed they will give you good news when you are examined today and you will get to see your daughter soon!

I've just text my midwifw asking if they plan on booking me in for induction if tomorrows sweep doesn't work. I need to have a plan of action to keep me calm!

oneconfusedchick · 10/02/2016 10:48

Hi 2many hope you are bearing up. I also have had the pessery. They thought it might ease me into labour. No pain just a few tightenings. Don't think it wil send me into labour am pretty sure I'll end up with the drip soon enough! I know what you mean about CS. I don't want one but then when you are waiting so long with nothing happening it's an attractive proposition. I'm 15 days over and don't see the baby coming today but at least I am in being monitored so feel assured all is well.

NotSpeaking · 10/02/2016 10:55

Did the pessary hurt being put in? Is it like a sweep??

Hope they crack on with you soon oneconfusedchick bet you're bored in hospital but glad they are monitoring you X

Why do I feel like I've been kicked up the bum today lol
