Positive thoughts** for us all Thanks

For its any consolation I am too focusing more on my first induction, as a repeat of the last time would not be good for me right now .. Unfortunately lack of sleep, pelvic pain and feeling useless at home is proving a bit difficult to cope with Sad
I am also hugely scared of the size of this little monkey given the prediction at my 39 week growth scan Confused .. I'm not even re-assured that my bump measurement is spot on ..

Anyone for a creme egg? lol - got to laugh otherwise I'd cry ThanksChocolate

Still 'ere

whistles
stacks up empty chairs
mops floor
listens to sighs echoing

41w today. Longest week of my life I think!

Sunflower2016 · 05/02/2016 10:46

Me too! Confused 41+3 - slowly going insane

NotSpeaking · 05/02/2016 11:08

Still here too but 40 +4 .... On constant knicker watch for a show. No show but Braxton hicks are pretty interesting today.
This is my third baby, why isn't it here yet ffs.... So scared of being induced.

2ManySweets · 05/02/2016 11:42

Don't be scared - this helped me sort my brain out

I'm still here too, 40+6!
My pgp has flared up in the last week after a good month of reduced pain, which makes the wait even more unbearable as I can't do much of anything. I'm desperate to polish my shiny kitchen floor Blush
NotSpeaking So scared of being induced too. I'm hoping for a water birth, if time and avalibility allows - obviously this won't be possible if I'm induced Sad
I've been having a show since my sweep on Tuesday, and still nothing! Midwife did another yesterday and no change, still 2-3cm and she can't believe that I haven't gone into labour. Which makes me feel even worse!

NotSpeaking · 05/02/2016 12:09

Fingers crossed for you! I had 8 sweeps with my first and they did nothing. Refused with my second and he came naturally. If they come near me again I'll bloody brew the midwifes fingers lol

I just read the blog post and it's lovely. But made me start crying... I've developed a real fear. Was literally traumatised by my induction with my first, it was awful and my anxiety is through the roof about it. I'm a real tough cookie but I'm really struggling with the idea X thanks for being lovely

oneconfusedchick · 05/02/2016 12:10

I'm still here too 41+3. My toddler is at in laws today and tonight as I'm too knackered too chase him around! Have induction booked for Monday so at least the end is in sight!! X

NotSpeaking · 05/02/2016 12:31

Ah oneconfusedchick you must be fed up. My kid and toddler are at school and nursery. Currently having a nice long soak in the bath. Luxury!!!

NotSpeaking · 05/02/2016 12:31

Also oneconfusedchick did you go into labour naturally with your first?

oneconfusedchick · 05/02/2016 15:16

Hi ! I am but I'm coping as I had a similar experience with first DC! I never went into labour naturally unfortunately despite trying everything. I ended up going into be induced at +11 and had two pesseries which hardly did anything , had my wares broke late on 16th August and he was born early hours of 17th - I had the drip. This time I know what to expect - don't wanna be induced but I'm ok with it and hopefully will be quicker this time as my midwife thinks they can just break my waters skipping the pessary stage that was so time consuming last time! X

oneconfusedchick · 05/02/2016 15:17

WAters broke I meant!

NotSpeaking · 05/02/2016 15:36

Yes I'm actually going to refuse the pessary stage. Going to request they just break my waters and get on with it.

oneconfusedchick · 05/02/2016 17:20

I think that is good however, the reason I believe they give u the pessary is so that they can break your waters - the only reason I am not having a pessary is because I am already 1-2cm so should be ok for them to break my waters - they would not have been able to break my waters without the pessary first time round apparently - worth asking tho as they might have just been fobbing me off! X

Sunflower2016 · 05/02/2016 17:37

I wasn't able to skip the pessary stage with my previous two .. Unfortunately the pessary was what would enabled them to break my waters .. As I wasn't dilated at all - but like confusedchick said worth an ask Thanks

2ManySweets · 05/02/2016 17:57

oneconfusedchick - looks like I'm reliving your first labour: no effacement, nothing, zero so it's into hospital next week, 24h pessary, that'll likely fail, 6h pessary, failing that CS.

My DP will have to go home at some point, probably overnight when I'm waiting for the fucking 24h pessary to work.

So moody right now. I shouldn't be but I am x

Sunflower2016 · 05/02/2016 18:19

2many - I'm right with you .. That will be exactly the same for me Hmm

oneconfusedchick · 05/02/2016 23:23

Why do you have to have c section? Is it if they can't break your waters? X

whatsoever · 06/02/2016 10:24

Hello all waves

I'm 40+5. Had a sweep on Monday (my due date) which got my hopes up - I was 1-2cm dilated, cervix thin & MW thought I'd be in labour within 3 days. Had some spotting/cramping/bit of a show but eased off by bedtime and nowt happened since.

So now waiting for my term +10 appointment on Thursday for another sweep & booking in for induction. DS arrived the day before my term +10 last time so there's still time, I know...

Reading all your induction posts with interest and wishing you all speedy deliveries, while trying to be marginally less anxious and grumpy.

2ManySweets · 06/02/2016 13:10

chick - correct.

whatsoever just out of interest are you in the UK? Term + 10 for a first sweep seems late

oneconfusedchick · 06/02/2016 14:50

Hopefully it won't come to that 2many but fingers crossed for you,
I've been chatting to a few ladies who have been induced at the hospital I am going to and some have had to wait a few days for a bed space - really hope that doesn't happen to me!!
Am really struggling to look after my toddler at the moment poor thing I've been short with him a lot and not much patience!!

Did 3 hours of cleaning this morning - wondered if it's nesting but to be honest I didn't want to do it I just had to clean the fridge and oven as they were dirty and Hoover crumbs up lol so not sure that is really nesting!!

Tired today and looking forward to when hubby comes home from football to help with DC!
X

KatyK1980 · 06/02/2016 18:46

Hello all. My due date was yesterday. Am booked in for a sweep at 40+6...
Am scared as baby has been measuring pretty big and I keep thinking the longer he's in there the more giant he becomes..!!

Sunflower2016 · 06/02/2016 19:18

Katyk - I am in the same situation, growth scan predicted big baby Confused and that was 3 weeks ago! Coming up to 2 weeks overdue and dreading the birth!

KatyK1980 · 06/02/2016 19:30

Sunflower, it's worrying isn't it?! It's the only reason I didn't want to go overdue. Am really scared of complications caused by big baby! Are you booked in for induction?

Sunflower2016 · 06/02/2016 19:47

So worrying katyk Sad .. I had a melt down in the consultant room at 39 weeks because she basically was hearing none of my concerns, even after my previous labour with my son and this baby is predicted bigger Shock .. I'm booked in for induction on Monday .. Earliest they would book me Hmm x
