Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

littlerach · 10/07/2004 20:20

Sorry for delay, Dinny, busy packing!!!

I was never given a reason for DD being early, just one of those things. I was rather stressed at the time, may have been due to that, also my job was quite active, and I had DD 3 days after giving up work!!

I did think thjis one would be early, am glad it hasn't happened yet though! 3 1/2 wks left now...

Pennies · 10/07/2004 21:20

I end work on the 30th too! Seems like about 50 million years away!

Glad to hear you hadn't gone and popped Dino!

V. jealous of your trip to France Sponge - sounds like you had a lovely time! Well done for flying so late on!

sweetkitty · 11/07/2004 14:45

hi everyone hope everyones OK, toothache where are you hope you are OK?

Working from home today as I have antenatal appt in the afternoon. Something nice about working in your PJ's. Had a really achy night last night, hips ached, bump ached, everything ached.

dinny · 11/07/2004 22:50

Littlerach, my dd came day after I finished work too. Was v busy/stressed at work. Often wonder if it was that.

re perenial massage - didn't get round to it last time and got away with no tearing. Hope am lucky again this time.

sibble · 11/07/2004 23:55

hi all, am rubbing everything with wheatgerm oil, resemble a beached whale in a oil slick every evening.
Thought was going into labour yesterday - had to come home from work - very strong braxton hicks, weird spacy feeling, nausea and serious stretching feeling in teh 'nether regions'. I tried to describe the feeling to DH last night who came over 'faint' and had to open a bottle of wine to steady his nerves!!!
Are anybody elses boobs really sore - I can't remember mine feeling this sore last time even when I was feeding but even clothes next to them is painful?

sponge · 12/07/2004 12:34

Morning all. 36 weeks today.
Actuallly Sibble I think my boobs are the only bit of me that isn't sore now.
Back and hips seem to be taking the brunt of the pain but had a very strong pressing on the cervix type pain on the way in this morning and had to sit down for a few minutes.
I love the image of you all slicked in oil at bedtime though - how are your sheets looking? .
I think the perineum question is the same as stretchmarks. Either your skin has the stretch in it or it doesn't. But rubbing in a bit of oil or cream can't do any harm - at least we'll have lovely baby soft stretched skin .
A friend gave me a posh pedicure as a birthday present yesterday so at least my feet can now look nice for the main event .

sweetkitty · 12/07/2004 13:02

Morning all 36 weeks today as well!! Boobs just tender wouldn't say sore. Hips, bum, pelvis everything else sore. Feels like someone is pushing on my nether regions from the inside out, wierd feeling.

Antenatal appt went well baby not engaged yet but still pointing the right way!

oliveoil · 12/07/2004 16:44

Afternoon all, 34 weeks today, got midwife at 2.30pm but I haven't really got anything to report. Iron tabs seem to have kicked in so I feel a bit better or it could be that I have left work. Have got annoying pestering painter doing the house this afternoon so I have escaped to the library, have no patience for discussing gloss v matt

Bigmerlin · 12/07/2004 16:56

Hello everyone
I'm 36 weeks today. Finish work on Friday. Absolutely knackered!
Was told yesterday that baby is still breech as the level of amniotic fluid is very low. Feeling a bit down, about to look into alternative methods to make her turn round. Any suggestions?

muriwai · 12/07/2004 18:19

Hi everyone, I'm enjoying my second day of leisure and am finally begining to really want things to get started. 36 +2 today and it feels like its going to be a long four weeks.

Had a 36 week scan and consultant's appt yesterday. All well - db weighs in at about 6lbs - so not too big, and head is halfway engaged, but apparently is back to back. I'm a bit confused though cause I thought that meant her back would be facing mine with tummy facing out IYSWIM, but dr said her back was on my left side. Does that make sense? Have to ask MW next week. Also, apparently have more 'liquor' (amniotic fluid) than normal. Never heard of that before - has anyone else?

Sympathy to all those still working

sponge · 12/07/2004 19:26

Perhaps she's back to back with you but not centrally positioned?
Mine is back to back with me as well - seems like none of us have got these babies in the right position yet.
Advice from my midwife was to lie on my left side as much as poss and to not sit leaning or lying back on the sofa, in chairs etc as this cradles the baby in the back to back position and makes it comfy to stay that way.
Not sure about turning a breech round though - did your mw give any suggestions BM? I know we're told that most of them get themselves into the right position in the end but a lack of fluid might make that harder.

sweetkitty · 13/07/2004 00:52

hi bigmerlin wow you, me and sponge all due the same day - want to have a race?

hope toothache is ok not heard from her in a few days

Bigmerlin · 13/07/2004 12:19

Sweetkitty - you're on!

Re breech, I have been told about various leaning forward / upside down positions to do, 3 x 20 mins a day. The consultant seemed reasonably upbeat, but apparently only 5% of babies are still breech at this stage, and only 1 in 5 of them will turn round in time to avoid a C-section... And the low amniotic fluid makes it even harder for her to turn around. So everyone keep their fingers crossed for me please.

sponge · 13/07/2004 12:31

Our fingers are crossed for you BM.
This may give you an advantage in the race though as you can schedule an early c-section whereas we just have to keep eating vindaloo and jumping up and down.

sweetkitty · 13/07/2004 16:10

bm keeping fingers crossed I think I read somewhere you can use acupuncture, reflexology or shining a torch up your bum baby is supposed to turn towards the light!!

Pennies · 13/07/2004 16:34

Hello everyone. Just to let you know that today I hate my DH. He went out last night on his ?last? (yeah yeah I?ll believe it when I see it) big booze up before the baby arrives. Rocked in at 12.45 and crashed into bed, tried to kiss my ear goodnight but it was more like headbut. Usual snoring ensued about 2 seconds later, then accompanied by bed hogging, duvet stealing and ? and this was the worst bit ? the most foul smell of alcohol, sweat and aftershave. The stink was so bad that after trying to get back to sleep with no success at 4am I carted myself off to the spare room. Then was so wound up I couldn?t sleep until 5 and my alarm goes off at 6.15 so am sooooo tired today.

Sorry just had to have a winge.

Blacksky · 13/07/2004 16:38

hello..have not been around for a while...i am due 7th August so am 36 weeks. Have fianlly stopped wolring but still doing some catering.

How is everyone else

We move on Monday, which will be a relief.

Toothache · 13/07/2004 17:55

Hi All,
Just reporting into let you all know that I'm still here! I have had loads of backache and twinges. Had my 36wk appointment yesterday and the baby has dropped right down, but isn't engaged. My bump seems to have gotten smaller?!?! Anyone ales feel like that? I'm still measuring fine for my dates though.

Baby seems to be moving about MUCH less now, in fact I was quite worried at the beginning of the week. Perhaps I'm just noticing it less as I'm more active now than I was when I was still working.

Glad everyone is well and that none of you have delivered before me.

OP posts:
Blacksky · 13/07/2004 17:58

when are you due toothache

Toothache · 13/07/2004 18:03

Hi Blacksky, I'm due the day before you, on the 6th August.

OP posts:
Blacksky · 13/07/2004 18:21

of course , i dont feel like my baby is coming yet, and sadly i am not getting any smaller

sponge · 13/07/2004 18:59

Hi Toothache. Good to hear you're OK.
My bump doesn't feel smaller but definitely lower although wasn't engaged when last checked (a week ago).
I think db moving less is normal from now on - there just isn't the room for them to thrash about any more, so nothing to worry about.

SK I now have a great picture in my mind of loads of heavily pregnant women squatting over upturned torches . Can the light relly get through?

muriwai · 13/07/2004 20:04

Good to hear you're still hanging in there Toothache - how are you liking being off work?

I've completely lost track of when we're all due - seem to be an awful lot due the 1st week of August - I'm due the 2nd and I think SK is too - what about everyone else? I wonder who's going to be first - the july mums seem to be pretty slow getting going!

sponge · 13/07/2004 20:32

Due dates I think are:
Littlerach - July 30th
Muriwai and Dinosaur - August 2nd
Me, SK and Bigmerlin - 4th
Toothache - 6th
Blacksky - 7th
Sibble - around the 11th
OO - 18th
Pennies - 25th
Dinny - Sept 5th

So lots of us early in August who might be able to give the Julys a run for their money!
Ready, steady............

sibble · 13/07/2004 23:09

Hi all,
pennies you have my sympathy - DH is still doing the same and with an over sensitive sense of smell it is quite stomach turning isn't it - to his credit though he does stumble into the spare room when he comes in. He is out tonight again. Last night we had the 'when is the last time he can go out' debate. I tried to explain that i don't actually have a problem with him going out right up to the due date - there is no point us both sitting in every night 'waiting for things to happen', especially as last time I went 2 weeks over due but would rather he didn't drink. So then started the grand when is the last time he can drink debate. He is going to a function on 27/07 - I am not due until 11/08 but would rather he didn't drink especially as my measurements are 2 weeks ahead of my due date and am due to see consultant that week for scan etc. and ? induction/section if baby is as big as they think it is.....
Anyway - another joy of being pregnant.
Toothache - my bump does seem to have changed size now it is sitting so low as well, although I still feel huge!!!
Will be so glad when baby born, am tired of being tired and carrying him around now and just soooo impatient about seeing him.
Still only worry - what to do with DS - is causing me sleepless nights so need to make a decision asap.
